VIII. CLASS POLICIES


 Attendance will be checked every meeting.
 A student may miss no more than 20% of the total class hours which is equivalent to 10.8 class hours.
ATTENDANCE
 As a general rule, an absence is unexcused. It is the duty of the student to provide a valid excuse before (if applicable) or
upon return to class.
It is expected that the student follows the highest principles of academic honesty. Any form of work that will be submitted
should be their own. Cheating in quizzes, homework and exams, as well as academic dishonesty in general will not and never
be tolerated. Any attempt at cheating in any requirement will entail the student a zero grade on the submitted work and the
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY case will be forwarded to the Office of Student Affairs. One found responsible of academic dishonesty (cheating, fabrication,
plagiarism, sabotage, participation in academically dishonest activities, facilitating academic dishonesty, etc.), a student will
be subjected to the university’s rules and regulations whill will result to a failing mark and the student may face expulsion from
the university.
SUBMISSION OF WORK All requirements should be submitted on or before the deadline. Late submission can only earn a maximum grade of 90%.
 A student who misses a quiz for any reason shall not be given a special quiz. The equivalent score on the following quiz will
be his score for the missed quiz.
MISSED MAJOR
 If a student misses two consecutive quizzes, the first of the missed quiz shall have a grade of zero.
EXAMINATIONS
 A student who misses the midterm examination will not be allowed to take it. The equivalent grade in the final examination
shall be recorded for the missed midterm examination.
MISSED ACTIVITIES
 A student who misses both examinations shall be given a failing grade in both.
 A student who misses the final examination but with an estimated passing grade will be given a grade of INC.
 A student is excused in an assessment activity in any of the following circumstances:
⁍ Death of family members up to second degree of consanguinity
⁍ Confinement do to a serious medical condition, upon presentation of a certification by the attending physician
VALID EXCUSE ⁍ Representing the college or university in competitions
⁍ Authorized participation in the college of university activity
 It is the student’s duty to establish the veracity of the excuse.
 A valid excuse is required to avoid incurring a zero grade on the first of two successive missed quizzes
A student is considered officially dropped only upon submission of the instructor’s copy of the duly accomplished dropping slip
DROPPING before the scheduled deadline for dropping. A student who has dropped the course but fails to submit the instructor’s copy at
least two (2) weeks before the last day of classes will be given a grade of 5.0.
The student may consult his/her instructor at the latter’s consultation hours or when available.
