PD planning
Required PD provides a foundation that schools can build on to develop their programme(s). Practice “Teacher support 2” sets the following aspirational goal: “ The school
ensures that leadership and teachers participate in appropriate and timely professional learning to inform their practice.” Schools are encouraged to develop
comprehensive PD plans aligned with strategic goals that provide relevant PD opportunities, including IB-approved PD. There is no required template for the school’s
comprehensive PD planning. Schools may wish to indicate in their programme development plans the PD undertaken to support the goals included in that plan. These may
be shared with the IB in the programme development plan submitted for programme evaluation.

Recording PD requirements
This template is used to record only the PD the school has undertaken to meet requirements in the Programme standards and practices (2020) during the period under
review. Use of the template is not required but is encouraged. If schools modify the template or submit their own PD plan, clearly identify the information detailed in
the relevant requirements, “Leadership 2.2” and “Teacher support 2.1”, and practice, “Teacher support 2”, which are shown below.

Leadership 2.2: The programme coordinator completes required professional development that is up to date with the most current version of the
programme(s) under their responsibility. (0202-02-0200)

Teacher support 2.1: The school complies with IB-mandated professional development requirements, as outlined in IB documentation. (0203-02-
0100)

Teacher support 2: The school ensures that leadership and teachers participate in appropriate and timely professional learning to inform their
practice. (0203-02)

• Staff “appointed during the period under review” refers to staff who are new to their role or to an IB programme during the period covered by the programme
evaluation.
– Staff who completed a relevant IB-recognized workshop at another school meet the requirement.

leads to a valued credential.
• IB-recognized PD consists of activities as listed on the IB events calendar on the IB public website (http://www.ibo.org) or in-school PD activities organized by the
relevant IB Global Centre.
• Location: In the table below, indicate where the training took place.
– For face-to-face IB workshops, name the city and state/country.

– For IB in-school and district cluster workshops, use “IS”.

– For IB online workshops, use “Online”.

• All IB-recognized workshops are featured in the IB workshops and services catalogue.
