Title: “Love on the List”

*FADE IN:*

**EXT. COFFEE SHOP - MORNING**

The sun shines brightly on a bustling city street. The sign above reads “Bean There, Done
That.” People filter in and out, chatting and sipping coffee.

**INT. COFFEE SHOP - CONTINUOUS**

**ALICE** (late 20s, a quirky bookshop owner with an infectious smile) stands in line, scrolling
through her phone. She’s dressed casually, with an eclectic mix of bright colors and patterns.
She seems oblivious to the commotion around her.

**ALICE** (to herself)

I can’t believe I’m actually doing this.

Her best friend, **LUCY** (early 30s, energetic and always full of ideas), enters the shop and
spots Alice.

**LUCY**
Alice! You look like you’re about to jump out of your skin.

**ALICE**
(sighs)
I am. I’m meeting that guy from the dating app today.

**LUCY**
Good for you! What’s his name again?

**ALICE**
(hesitant)
Henry... something. He’s a lawyer. And he looks like he’s in a magazine or something.

**LUCY**
You mean he’s handsome?

**ALICE**
He’s so handsome it’s kind of terrifying.

Lucy gives her a supportive hug.

**LUCY**
Relax. It’s just coffee. What’s the worst that could happen?

**ALICE**
We’ll see.

The BARISTA calls out Alice’s name. She retrieves her coffee and walks to a table, looking
around anxiously.

**INT. COFFEE SHOP - LATER**

A tall, well-dressed man walks in. This is **HENRY** (early 30s, charming, with a hint of
nervousness). He scans the room and spots Alice.

**HENRY**
Alice?

Alice looks up, her face lighting up.

**ALICE**
Henry! Hi!

They sit down. The initial awkwardness is palpable.

**HENRY**
So...

Alice fumbles with her coffee cup.

**ALICE**
Tell me about yourself.

**HENRY**
Well, I’m a lawyer. I like reading. I’m into hiking.

Alice tries to hide her disappointment.

**ALICE**
Nice. I’m a bookshop owner. I love reading and, um, collecting weird mugs.

They continue talking, but the chemistry is clearly lacking.

**INT. COFFEE SHOP - LATER**

The date ends, and Alice walks out, clearly relieved.

**EXT. CITY STREET - DAY**

Alice waves goodbye to Henry, then sighs in relief as she walks away. She pulls out her phone
and texts Lucy.

**TEXT MESSAGE**
Alice: That was awful. Henry is a perfectly nice guy, but I think we’re on different pages.

**INT. LUCY’S APARTMENT - EVENING**

Lucy is lounging on the couch, scrolling through her phone. Her phone buzzes, and she reads
Alice’s text.

**LUCY**
Poor thing. She needs something to cheer her up.

She types a quick response.

**TEXT MESSAGE**
Lucy: Let’s have a girls’ night. I’ll bring wine and snacks.

**INT. ALICE’S APARTMENT - NIGHT**

Alice and Lucy are sprawled on the couch, surrounded by snacks and a bottle of wine. They’re
watching a romantic comedy.

**LUCY**
So, I was thinking... what if you make a list of what you really want in a partner?

**ALICE**
(skeptical)
A list?

**LUCY**
Yes! Write down everything. It’ll help you focus on what’s really important.

Alice ponders this idea while reaching for another snack.

**ALICE**
Alright. I’ll give it a try.

**INT. ALICE’S APARTMENT - NEXT DAY**

Alice sits at her desk, pen and paper in hand. She starts writing her list:

1. Funny
2. Kind
3. Loves books
4. Adventurous
5. Good cook

She smiles, feeling a sense of purpose.

**EXT. PARK - DAY**

Alice walks through the park with her book. She sits on a bench, reading. Across the park,
**NATHAN** (early 30s, an easygoing chef with a friendly demeanor) is jogging. He spots Alice
and does a double-take.

**NATHAN**
(to himself)
Is that Alice from the bookshop?

He hesitates but decides to approach.

**NATHAN**
Alice? Hi!

Alice looks up, surprised.

**ALICE**
Nathan? What are you doing here?

**NATHAN**
Just out for a jog. Didn’t expect to see you here.

They chat and laugh as Nathan joins her on the bench.

**NATHAN**
So, how’s the bookshop?

**ALICE**
Busy as ever. How’s the restaurant?

**NATHAN**
Going great. We’ve got a new dish I’m really excited about.
Alice’s eyes light up.

**ALICE**
Really? What is it?

**NATHAN**
You’ll have to come by and try it.

Alice smiles.

**ALICE**
I just might do that.

**INT. NATHAN’S RESTAURANT - NIGHT**

Alice arrives at Nathan’s restaurant, greeted by the warm ambiance and delicious aromas.
She’s seated at a table, and Nathan comes over with a special dish.

**NATHAN**
Here it is. A little something I whipped up just for you.

**ALICE**
It looks amazing!

They share a pleasant meal, enjoying each other’s company. The conversation flows easily.

**NATHAN**
So, what’s on your list?

**ALICE**
My list?

**NATHAN**
Yeah, from Lucy’s suggestion. What are you looking for?

Alice hesitates but decides to be open.

**ALICE**
Well, I’m looking for someone who’s funny, kind, loves books, adventurous, and a good cook.

Nathan’s smile widens.

**NATHAN**
Well, I’m definitely not perfect, but I do cook and I can be adventurous.
**ALICE**
(smiling)
I’ll keep that in mind.

**INT. ALICE’S APARTMENT - DAY**

Alice is on the phone with Lucy, animatedly recounting her dinner.

**ALICE**
Nathan is really great. He’s funny and kind. And the food was incredible.

**LUCY**
That’s awesome! Sounds like you’re having a great time.

**ALICE**
Yeah, I think I might actually be having fun.

**INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT**

Alice and Nathan are having dinner again. Their chemistry is undeniable. They laugh, share
stories, and enjoy each other’s company.

**NATHAN**
You know, I’ve always wanted to visit Italy. Eat my way through Rome and Florence.

**ALICE**
That sounds amazing. I’ve always dreamed of visiting a little bookshop in Paris.

**NATHAN**
Maybe one day we could both cross off our travel dreams.

Alice looks at him, touched by the thought.

**ALICE**
I’d like that.

**EXT. CITY STREET - DAY**

Alice and Nathan walk down the street, holding hands. They’re clearly smitten with each other.

**NATHAN**
You know, I’ve been thinking about something.
**ALICE**
What’s that?

**NATHAN**
About your list. I think the most important thing isn’t just about the qualities. It’s about finding
someone you genuinely connect with.

Alice stops and looks at Nathan.

**ALICE**
You’re right. And I’m really glad we met.

Nathan smiles and leans in for a kiss. It’s sweet and genuine.

**INT. ALICE’S APARTMENT - NIGHT**

Alice and Lucy are having a cozy night in, catching up.

**LUCY**
So, how’s it going with Nathan?

**ALICE**
(smiling)
It’s going really well. I think I’ve found something that’s even better than what I had on my list.

**LUCY**
That’s amazing, Alice. I’m so happy for you!

They toast with their glasses of wine.

**FADE OUT**

**TEXT ON SCREEN:**

*Sometimes, the best things in life aren’t on a list. They’re the unexpected moments that turn
into something wonderful.*

**FADE IN:**

**EXT. CITY PARK - DAY**

Alice and Nathan are walking hand in hand. They stop by a street artist painting a mural.

**NATHAN**
You know, I think this is a perfect spot for our first date anniversary.

**ALICE**
(smiling)
I’d love that.

They kiss as the muralist continues to paint a beautiful scene of love and joy.

**FADE OUT**

**THE END**
