Tour Guide Script for MAYNILAD employees: San Jose del Monte, Bulacan

Introduction
“Good morning, everyone! Welcome to our tour of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. I’m
[Your Name], and I’ll be your guide today.

I understand that as MAYNILAD employees, you’re keen on learning about this city’s
water resources, infrastructure, and local culture. Together, we’ll explore San Jose del
Monte’s rich history, key landmarks, and community aspects while keeping your
interests in mind. Let’s ensure we all enjoy a safe and informative trip. Before we start,
please remember to stay with the group and follow safety guidelines.”

Briefing and Safety Precautions

“Before we head off, a few reminders:

First stay hydrated and wear comfortable shoes, as we’ll do some walking.

Always be aware of your surroundings and avoid wandering off.

Keep your belongings secure at all times.

Lastly, let me or our coordinators know if you need assistance.

Now, let’s begin our journey into San Jose del Monte!”

Main Tour Script

“Our first stop is the San Jose del Monte City Hall, a symbol of progress and
governance in Bulacan’s fastest-growing city. Did you know this city became a
component city in 2000? It’s nicknamed the ‘Balcony of the Metropolis’ because of its
elevated location overlooking Metro Manila.

Next, we’ll pass by the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, a pilgrimage site built
in the 1960s to replicate the Lourdes Grotto in France. It attracts thousands of devotees
during Holy Week, showcasing the city’s deep religious roots.
As MAYNILAD employees, you might find it interesting that San Jose del Monte has a
growing demand for clean and sustainable water due to its rapid urbanization. Efforts
are underway to upgrade its water infrastructure, especially in its expanding residential
communities like Greater Lagro and Tungkong Mangga.

Here’s a fun trivia: San Jose del Monte was part of the route of Katipuneros during the
Philippine Revolution. History tells us that this city played a role in transporting supplies
and people between Bulacan and Manila.”

Factual Story
“A compelling story is the tale of Sapang Palay, which started as a resettlement area in
the 1960s. Thousands of families displaced by calamities and development projects in
Metro Manila were relocated here. Over the years, it has transformed into a thriving
community. This resilience reflects the city’s spirit of adapting and overcoming
challenges, something I’m sure you can relate to as part of MAYNILAD’s mission of
service.”

Closing
“Thank you for joining me today as we explored San Jose del Monte, a city that
beautifully blends history, faith, and progress. I hope this experience gave you not only
an appreciation of the city’s culture and infrastructure but also inspiration for the
important work you do in ensuring clean water for our communities.

Let’s take one last group photo before we head back. Travel safely, and we hope to see
you again soon!”
