The field of Human Resource Management (HRM) has always intrigued me, not only because of its
central role in organizational success but also due to its impact on individuals' personal and
professional development. My desire to pursue an MSc in Human Resource Management stems from
a deep interest in understanding the intricacies of human capital management, as well as the strategic
importance of aligning people management with organizational goals. Through this Statement of
Purpose, I aim to outline my academic and professional background, motivation for pursuing an MSc
in HRM, and my long-term career aspirations.
My name is Anusha Verma, and I come from a family that has always emphasized the importance of
education, integrity, and personal growth. Hailing from the city of Indore as the commercial capital
of Madhya Pradesh due to its vibrant economy and industrial presence., where I have been fortunate
to receive strong support from my family in pursuing my academic and career aspirations.
My father, is a Businessmen, and my mother, is a Businesswomen. They have been pillars of support
throughout my life, instilling in me values such as hard work, perseverance, and the importance of
continuous learning. Coming from a middle-class background, I have witnessed firsthand the
significance of managing resources effectively and the value of education in personal and professional
development. Their encouragement and guidance have been instrumental in shaping my career
ambitions and my interest in human resource management.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Commerce in Banking Financial Services, and
insurance from Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences in 2024. During my time at university, I
developed a deep interest in business management, organizational Behaviour, and Human Resource
which collectively contributed to my passion for human resource management. Courses such as
"Organizational Behaviour," "Human Resource Management," and "Business
Communication" provided me with a strong foundation in the theories and practices of managing
people in organizational settings.
My academic journey has always been marked by curiosity and a drive to understand the intricacies of
human behaviour in the workplace. In my final year, I conducted a research project on "The Role of
Talent Acquisition in Enhancing Organizational Performance," which allowed me to explore how
HR practices can foster a motivated and productive workforce. The project involved surveying
employees from various industries and analysing the factors that contribute to job satisfaction and
engagement. This research not only enhanced my academic understanding of HRM but also ignited a
passion for using data and research to solve real-world HR challenges.
Throughout my undergraduate studies, I maintained a strong academic record, consistently achieving
high grades, which reflected my dedication to learning and my passion for HRM. Additionally, I
actively participated in extracurricular activities, such as organising the university’s fest, hosting
cultural events like concerts, business Auctions, etc. These experiences helped me develop essential
soft skills such as leadership, communication, and teamwork, all of which are crucial for a successful
person.
Upon completing my degree, I had the opportunity to work as a HR Recruiter at P&M HR
SOLUTIONS, a growing Consultancy firm in BPO Sector in Gurugram. This position provided me
with valuable hands-on experience in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee
onboarding, learned ATS management, and employee relations.
In this role, I was responsible for assisting the HR team in recruitment processes, from drafting job
descriptions and posting job advertisements to screening resumes and conducting interviews. I also
helped streamline the onboarding process, ensuring that new employees were integrated smoothly into
the company culture. My experience working with employees at different levels of the organization
allowed me to understand the importance of effective communication and conflict resolution in
maintaining a harmonious workplace.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my job was being involved in organizing employee engagement
activities and performance review processes. I played a key role in implementing an employee
feedback system that allowed us to gather insights into employee satisfaction and improve overall
organizational morale. This experience helped me recognize the importance of creating a supportive
work environment that fosters employee development and satisfaction, both of which are critical in
achieving long-term organizational success.
In addition to my HR-specific tasks, I worked closely with the management team to align HR
strategies with the company’s business objectives. I saw firsthand how effective HR management can
directly contribute to an organization's strategic goals, which solidified my desire to pursue a career in
this field. This experience has inspired me to further enhance my knowledge and skills through an
MSc in Human Resource Management.
