LESSON Pre- Grade
PLAN Service Group 1 Level 7
Teacher
Date November 29, 2024 Learning Mathematics
Area
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts
Standards of sets and the real number system.
B. Performance The learner is able to formulate challenging situations
Standards involving sets and real numbers and solve these in a
variety of strategies.
C. Learning The learner illustrates the different properties of
Competencies operations on the set of integers (M7NS-ld-2).
1. Learning At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
Objectives 1. Define and identify the properties of operations on
integers (commutative, associative, distributive,
identity, inverse).
2. Apply the properties of operations to solve
problems involving integers.
3. Apply this concept in real life problems..
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Topic Properties of Operations on Integers

D. Values Active participation and cooperation
Integration
III. PROCEDURES
1. Prayer
A. Preliminary Activity 2. Greetings
(5 minutes) 3. Checking class attendance
4. Review of the previous lesson
B. Lesson Proper “PICTIONARY GAME: DRAW AND TELL !”

1. Activity (10 Rules and Mechanics of the Game:

minutes)
•The mission of each player holding a strip of cartolina is
to let the classmates guess the hidden word by drawing
symbols, figures or images on the board without any
word.
•If the hidden property is discovered, a volunteer from
the class will give his/her own meaning of the identified
words. Then, from the printed descriptions, he/she can
choose the appropriate definition of the disclosed
word and verify if his/her initial description is correct.
•The game ends when all the words are revealed.

The teacher will ask the students the following

2. Analysis (2 questions:
minutes) 1. What properties of real numbers where shown in
the Pictionary Game?
2. Give one example and example and explain.
3. How are said properties seen in real life?
Properties of Operations on Integers:
3. Abstraction (20
minutes) Commutative Property: The order of the numbers
does not affect the result.

Addition: a + b = b + a
Multiplication: a x b = b x a

Associative Property: The grouping of numbers does

not affect the result.

Addition: (a + b) + c = a + (b + c)
Multiplication: (a x b) x c = a x (b x c)

Identity Property: The identity element does not

change the value of the number.

Addition: a + 0 = a
Multiplication: a x 1 = a

Inverse Property: The inverse element cancels out the

original number.

Addition: a + (-a) = 0
Multiplication: a x (1/a) = 1 (where a ≠ 0)

Distributive Property: Multiplication distributes over

addition or subtraction.

a x (b + c) = (a x b) + (a x c)
a x (b - c) = (a x b) - (a x c)

Examples: Demonstrate each property using examples

on the whiteboard.

5+3=3+5
4x7=7x4
(2 + 6) + 1 = 2 + (6 + 1)
9x1=9
5 + (-5) = 0
2 x (3 + 4) = (2 x 3) + (2 x 4)

ACTIVITY: Property Match-Up!

4. Application (7
minutes) Directions: The teacher will divide the students into 3
groups. Each group will be given a set of cards. One set
will have integer operations written on them, and the
other set will have the properties of integer operations
written on them.

1. Match the cards: Students must work together to

match each integer operation card with the correct
property card.
2. Present your matches: Each group will choose a
presenter to explain their matches to the class.

Example Cards:
Integer Operation Cards:
5 + (-3)
4x7
(2 + 6) + 1
7+0
5 + (-5)

Property Cards:
Commutative Property of Addition
Associative Property of Addition
Identity Property of Addition
Inverse Property of Addition
Distributive Property

Rubrics:
Correctly matched cards……………………… 3 points
Presents their matches effectively………..2 points
Teamwork and participation……………… 3 points
Total: 20 points per group

IV. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION (5 minutes)

Activity: Try it!
1
Direction: In a sheet of paper, determine which
4
property of real number justifies each statement.

V. GENERALIZATION (3 minutes)
The teacher asks students what they have learned.

VI. ASSIGNMENT/AGREEMENT (3 minutes)

Direction: Rewrite the following expressions using the
given property. Write your answer in a ¼ sheet of paper.
