1. INTRODUCTION

This report documents my experience as an intern at Mittal Finance and Investment Services, a
distinguished financial institution specializing in loans, investments, and insurance services.
Over the course of my internship, I was entrusted with a variety of tasks, each aimed at
enhancing the company’s operational efficiency and expanding its digital footprint.

As a finance-based company, Mittal Finance and Investment Services is dedicated to providing

personalized financial solutions to its clients, ensuring their financial stability and growth. My
role as an intern primarily involved contributing to the company’s digital transformation by
developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to bring the business online. This
included the design and creation of a company website, which served as the cornerstone of this
transformation.

Throughout this internship, I was given the opportunity to immerse myself in the intricacies of
the financial services industry, while also honing my technical skills in web development and
digital marketing. From conducting in-depth research on hosting services and website design
to assisting in seminar preparations and analyzing employee feedback, my experience was both
diverse and enriching.

In this report, I will take you through my journey as an intern at Mittal Finance and Investment
Services. I will detail the projects I worked on, the challenges I faced, and the valuable lessons
I learned along the way. This experience has not only broadened my understanding of the
financial sector but has also equipped me with practical skills that will be invaluable in my
future career.

Mittal Finance and Investment Services, established in January 2024, is a financial institution
focused on providing practical and tailored financial solutions. During my internship here, I
observed how the company, under the leadership of Sangita Agarwal, effectively addresses the
diverse financial needs of its clients. With her 12 years of experience in the banking, insurance,
and investment sectors, Sangita Agarwal has guided the company to quickly become a reliable
player in the financial industry.

The company’s approach is centered on understanding and meeting the specific requirements
of its clients, whether it’s finding suitable loan options, developing investment strategies, or
offering comprehensive insurance plans. This focus on customization ensures that clients
receive services that are well-suited to their individual situations.

The team at Mittal Finance consists of experienced professionals, including former bankers and
industry specialists. This collective expertise enables the company to provide sound financial
advice that is both practical and grounded in real-world experience.

Additionally, Mittal Finance’s partnerships with major Indian private and national banks, as well
as NBFCs, give clients access to a wide range of financial products. The company emphasizes
the importance of building long-term relationships and consistently working in the best interests
of its clients.

In my time at Mittal Finance, I’ve learned the importance of providing clear, informed financial
advice and the value of building trust with clients. The company’s straightforward and client-
focused approach has been a key takeaway from my internship experience.

In summary, Mittal Finance and Investment Services is a company that prioritizes practical
financial solutions and client relationships. My experience here has provided valuable insights

1.2. Internship Overview

During my internship at Mittal Finance and Investment Services, I had the opportunity to
engage in a variety of tasks that were essential to the company’s digital and marketing efforts.
The responsibilities I was entrusted with provided a well-rounded experience, allowing me to
contribute to key projects while developing my skills in web development, digital marketing,
and content creation.

Website Development Projects: One of the primary areas of focus during my internship was
website development. I was involved in assisting with the design, coding, and modification of
websites to meet specific requirements. This included working on both the layout and
functionality of the site, ensuring that it was user-friendly and aligned with the company’s
branding. Through this, I gained hands-on experience with web technologies and learned how
to effectively translate design specifications into a functional website.

Social Media Marketing and Ads Optimization: Another significant responsibility was
managing and optimizing social media campaigns. My role involved increasing the company’s
brand visibility and engagement across various platforms. I worked on analyzing campaign
performance, adjusting strategies to improve outcomes, and ensuring that the content resonated
with the target audience. This experience deepened my understanding of social media

and social media management, I was tasked with creating marketing content and supporting the

preparation of presentations for internal and external audiences, ensuring that they were both
informative and engaging.

Other Assigned Tasks: Throughout the internship, I was also assigned various other tasks to
support the team’s overall objectives. These tasks provided additional learning opportunities
and allowed me to contribute to different aspects of the company’s operations. Whether it was
conducting research, assisting in administrative duties, or supporting team projects, these
responsibilities helped me develop a broader understanding of the company’s work and its
impact.

2. OBSERVATIONS AND PROBLEM STATEMENT

2.1. Observation

Throughout my internship at Mittal Finance and Investment Services, I gained valuable insights
into the workings of a financial services company, particularly in the areas of digital marketing,
web development, and client interaction. Here are some key observations I made during my
time with the company:

1. The Importance of a Strong Digital Presence: One of the most significant observations was
the critical role that a well-designed and functional website plays in establishing a company’s
credibility. In today’s digital age, clients often make their first impression based on a company’s
online presence. A website that is easy to navigate, visually appealing, and informative can
significantly influence a client’s decision to engage with the company. This highlighted the
importance of our work in designing and optimizing the website to meet both user expectations
and business goals.

2. The Strategic Role of Social Media in Brand Building: I observed how social media
platforms serve as powerful tools for brand visibility and customer engagement. The
company’s efforts to maintain an active presence on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and
Instagram demonstrated how targeted content and strategic ad placements can effectively reach
and engage potential clients. The continuous monitoring and optimization of these campaigns
are essential to maintaining relevance and maximizing impact.

3. Customization is Key in Financial Services: Another observation was the emphasis on

providing customized financial solutions to clients. Whether it was through tailored investment
strategies, personalized loan options, or specific insurance plans, the company’s approach was
centered around understanding and meeting the unique needs of each client. This reinforced
the idea that in the financial services industry, a one-size-fits-all approach is often ineffective.

4. The Value of Cross-Disciplinary Knowledge: Working closely with professionals from

different backgrounds, including ex-bankers and industry specialists, I observed the
importance of cross-disciplinary knowledge. The ability to integrate insights from various

During my internship at Mittal Finance and Investment Services, I encountered several

challenges that required thoughtful analysis and problem-solving. These problem statements
helped shape my experience and contributed to my professional growth. Below are some of the
key problem statements I identified:

1. Optimizing Website Usability and User Experience: One of the initial challenges we faced
was ensuring that the company’s website was not only visually appealing but also user-friendly
and functional. The problem was that the existing website had a layout that was somewhat
outdated and difficult to navigate, which could potentially lead to a poor user experience. The
challenge was to redesign the website to improve navigation, responsiveness across devices,
and overall user experience, while still maintaining the company’s brand identity.

2. Enhancing Social Media Engagement: Another problem statement was related to the
company’s social media presence. While Mittal Finance had accounts on several platforms, the
level of engagement and visibility was not as high as desired. The problem was to identify the
reasons for low engagement and develop strategies to increase interaction with the target
audience. This involved analyzing existing content, understanding audience preferences, and
optimizing ad campaigns to reach a broader and more relevant audience.

3. Creating Consistent and Effective Marketing Content: Developing marketing content that
was both consistent with the company’s brand message and effective in reaching potential
clients posed a significant challenge. The problem was to create content that resonated with
different segments of the company’s audience—ranging from individual investors to small
business owners—while maintaining a unified brand voice. This required a deep

understanding of the audience’s needs and the ability to tailor messages accordingly.

4. Selecting the Right Web Hosting Service: During the planning phase of the website
development project, we faced the challenge of selecting an appropriate web hosting service.
The problem was to find a hosting service that provided the right balance of cost, performance,
security, and scalability to support the company’s online presence. This required thorough
research and comparison of various hosting providers, as well as considering future growth
and traffic needs.

5. Balancing Traditional and Digital Marketing Strategies: Another challenge was determining
the right mix between traditional and digital marketing strategies. While the company had
traditionally relied on word-of-mouth and local advertising, there was a growing need to expand
into digital marketing to reach a wider audience. The problem was to develop a marketing
strategy that effectively integrated both traditional and digital channels, ensuring that resources
were allocated efficiently to achieve the best results.

6. Managing Time and Resources Effectively: With multiple projects and tasks to handle, time
management and resource allocation became a critical issue. The problem was to prioritize
tasks in a way that allowed for the timely completion of projects without compromising quality.
This included managing the demands of website development, content creation, social media
management, and other assigned tasks, while also allowing time for learning and professional
development.

7. Addressing Client Feedback in Real-Time: Finally, managing client feedback, especially

in real-time, presented a challenge. The problem was to implement a system that allowed
for the efficient collection, analysis, and response to client feedback. This was particularly
important during seminars and other client interactions, where timely follow-up was crucial for
maintaining client satisfaction and trust.

These problem statements provided me with opportunities to develop critical thinking and
problem-solving skills, which were essential in navigating the challenges of the internship and
contributing to the company’s goals.

3. WORK DONE

During my internship at Mittal Finance and Investment Services, I was involved in several key
projects that were crucial to the company’s digital transformation. My primary responsibility
was developing the company’s website from scratch, which included designing the layout,
coding the frontend using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and building the backend with
technologies like Node.js and MySQL. The aim was to create a userfriendly, responsive, and
secure website that effectively showcased the company’s services and facilitated client
interactions. Additionally, I conducted comprehensive research on various web hosting
services, focusing on performance, security, cost, and scalability. This research was
instrumental in selecting a hosting provider that met the company’s needs and supported the
website’s longterm growth. I also worked on implementing a secure backend system, which
involved setting up user authentication processes, managing client data, and ensuring
compliance with data protection regulations. Furthermore, I contributed to the creation of
marketing content for the website, including drafting text, designing visuals, and ensuring that
all content aligned with the company’s branding and messaging. These projects collectively
contributed to the successful establishment of Mittal Finance’s online presence.

3.1. Preparing for the Seminar

One of the significant responsibilities during my internship at Mittal Finance and Investment
Services was organizing and facilitating a seminar on the Indian taxation system. This
seminar was held at the Phugewadi Metro Station Office in Pune, Maharashtra, and was
aimed at civil engineers working at the office. The primary focus of the seminar was to educate
the attendees on the intricacies of the Indian taxation system and to demonstrate how they
could benefit from it by investing efficiently.

Seminar Preparation and Presentation Development: The preparation for the seminar
involved several key tasks. Our team was responsible for creating an informative and engaging
presentation that would effectively communicate the essential points of the Indian taxation
system. The presentation covered various aspects, including taxsaving investment options, tax
planning strategies, and the benefits of understanding and utilizing the tax system to one’s
advantage. We ensured that the content was tailored to the audience of civil engineers, making
it relevant to their specific financial needs and goals.

Technical Support and Logistics: On the day of the seminar, I was tasked with providing
technical support to ensure that the presentation ran smoothly. This included setting up the
necessary audiovisual equipment, troubleshooting any technical issues that arose, and ensuring
that the presentation was displayed correctly to the audience. My role was crucial in maintaining
the flow of the seminar and ensuring that the presenters could focus on delivering the content
without any technical distractions.

Explaining the Company’s Services: During the seminar, some attendees arrived late and
missed the initial presentation. I took the initiative to explain the company’s services and the
core points of the presentation to these individuals. This involved summarizing the key aspects
of the seminar, highlighting how Mittal Finance and Investment Services could assist them
in making informed investment decisions, and answering any questions they had about the
company’s offerings. This personal interaction helped ensure that all attendees, regardless of
when they arrived, received the full benefit of the seminar.

Engaging the Audience and Gathering Feedback: In addition to my technical and

explanatory roles, I also engaged with the audience by encouraging questions and discussions
during and after the seminar. This interaction helped clarify any doubts the participants had
and provided them with a better understanding of how they could leverage the Indian taxation
system for their financial benefit. After the seminar, we distributed feedback forms to gather
insights from the attendees about their experience and the effectiveness of the seminar.
Analyzing this feedback was crucial for understanding the impact of our efforts and
identifying areas for improvement in future seminars.

Overall, the seminar at Phugewadi Metro Station was a comprehensive exercise in planning,
technical execution, and client engagement. It provided a valuable opportunity to apply my

After the seminar, our team undertook a thorough analysis of the feedback we received from
the attendees. The feedback forms were instrumental in understanding the strengths and
weaknesses of our presentation. We meticulously reviewed the responses to gauge how well
the seminar was received and identify areas where we could improve.

Feedback Analysis: One of the key observations from the feedback was that while the content
was wellreceived and informative, audience engagement varied significantly across the room.
Attendees seated at the front were more involved, participating actively in discussions and
asking questions. However, those seated at the back were less engaged, which indicated that
our seminar could have been more inclusive in addressing the entire audience.

Team Discussion and Reflection: In our postseminar discussion, we reflected on these

insights and brainstormed ways to enhance future presentations. We recognized the need to
adopt strategies that would encourage more interaction from the entire audience, regardless of
their seating position. For instance, we considered the idea of moving around the room during
the presentation or using interactive tools to involve everyone, ensuring that the back rows felt
as much a part of the seminar as those at the front.

We also discussed how the seminar could have been more responsive and engaging overall.
Incorporating more interactive elements, such as realtime polls or QA sessions spread
throughout the presentation, could keep the audience actively involved. Additionally, varying
the pace of the seminar and incorporating visual aids or practical examples relevant to civil
engineers could make the content more relatable and engaging.

Continuous Improvement: This postseminar evaluation was crucial for our team’s growth
and the continuous improvement of our seminar offerings. By acknowledging the aspects that
worked well and those that didn’t, we could refine our approach for future seminars. Our goal is
to create an experience that not only educates but also actively engages all participants, ensuring
that everyone leaves with valuable insights they can apply to their financial planning.

Overall, the postseminar work was a valuable learning experience, highlighting the importance
of feedback in enhancing the effectiveness of our presentations and improving audience
engagement.

After the seminar, we entered an intensive training period designed to familiarize us with the
core operations of Mittal Finance and Investment Services. This phase was crucial in building a
solid foundation of knowledge that would enable us to contribute effectively to the company’s
projects.

Understanding Company Operations: During this period, our mentors walked us through
the basics of how the company functions, focusing on key financial services such as loans,
investments, and insurance. We learned about the different types of loans offered by the
company, the process of assessing a client’s financial health, and the criteria for loan approval.
Investments were another major focus, where we explored various investment options
available to clients, including mutual funds, fixed deposits, and marketlinked investments.
Understanding how these products align with different financial goals was essential for us to
comprehend how to guide clients effectively.

Insurance was the third pillar of our training. We were taught the intricacies of different
insurance products, including life, health, and general insurance. The training covered how
insurance policies are structured, how premiums are calculated, and the importance of tailoring
insurance solutions to meet individual client needs.

Supplementary Literature: To reinforce our learning, we were provided with a variety of

literature covering similar concepts. This included materials on depositories like NSDL
(National Securities Depository Limited) and CDSL (Central Depository Services Limited),
which play a critical role in the Indian financial market. These readings helped us understand
how these institutions facilitate the holding and transfer of securities in electronic form,
ensuring the smooth operation of stock market transactions. The literature also delved into the
regulatory frameworks and operational processes of these depositories, giving us a

wellrounded understanding of the financial infrastructure that supports investment activities.

Application of Knowledge: This training period was not just about theoretical learning; it also
prepared us to apply this knowledge in realworld scenarios. Understanding how the company’s
products and services operate allowed us to better design and implement digital solutions, such
as the website we were tasked with building. It also equipped us with the necessary background
to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, ensuring that the digital strategies we
developed were aligned with the company’s financial goals and objectives.

As part of our internship at Mittal Finance and Investment Services, we were tasked with the
critical responsibility of identifying and recommending a hosting service provider for the
company’s new website. This project required a comprehensive analysis of the hosting
services available in the Indian market to ensure that our choice would support the company’s
digital transformation efforts effectively. The following report details the research process,
analysis, and decisionmaking criteria that led to our final recommendation.

The first step in our research was to identify the most reputable and widely used hosting service
providers in India. We shortlisted several companies based on their market presence, customer
reviews, and range of services. The providers we focused on included:

HostGator India: Known for its robust shared and cloud hosting solutions, along with strong
customer support.

GoDaddy India: A major player offering a wide array of hosting services, domain registration,

which is budgetfriendly but shares resources among multiple sites; VPS hosting, which offers
a dedicated portion of a server for better performance; dedicated hosting, which provides an
entire server for exclusive use; and cloud hosting, known for its scalability and reliability.

Storage Capacity: We analyzed the storage offered in each plan, ranging from basic SSD
storage to more advanced options for handling large amounts of data efficiently.

Bandwidth: We reviewed the bandwidth allocation, essential for ensuring that the website
could handle a large volume of traffic without performance degradation.

Uptime Guarantee: A critical factor, as higher uptime percentages ensure that the website
remains accessible to users at all times. Providers with 99.9 percentage or higher uptime
guarantees were prioritized.

Security Features: We assessed the security measures offered, including SSL certificates for
secure data transmission, DDoS protection to prevent cyberattacks, regular backups, and
firewall protections.

Support Services: The availability and quality of customer support were crucial, as prompt
assistance is necessary for resolving technical issues. We looked for 24/7 support, live chat
options, and the availability of technical expertise.

Scalability and Flexibility: The ability to scale up or down based on the company’s needs

was a key consideration. Providers offering flexible plans that could easily adapt to changing
business requirements were given preference.

1.3 Price Distribution:

We meticulously analyzed the pricing structures of each hosting service provider, taking into
account both the initial costs and longterm affordability:

Basic Plan Costs: Entrylevel plans were compared to determine the value offered at the most
affordable tier. We considered what features were included and whether these plans could
support the company’s needs during the initial stages of website deployment.

Advanced Plan Costs: For more demanding scenarios, we looked at VPS, dedicated, and
cloud hosting plans, comparing their costs relative to the technical specifications and additional
features provided.

Renewal Rates: Since many hosting providers offer discounted rates for the first term, it
was important to understand the renewal costs and ensure they remained within the company’s
budget.

AddOn Costs: We also considered any additional expenses for features like domain
registration, automated backups, security addons, and email hosting services.

2. Comparison and Analysis

2.1 Creation of Comparison Excel:

To organize and simplify the comparison process, we developed a detailed Excel spreadsheet.

Service Features: We listed all relevant features, such as storage, bandwidth, and uptime,
allowing for a sidebyside comparison of what each provider offered.

Technical Specifications: The spreadsheet included a breakdown of the technical

specifications for each plan, making it easier to evaluate the performance capabilities of
different hosting options.

Pricing: We cataloged the pricing for each plan, including any additional costs, which provided
a clear view of how each provider’s pricing structure compared against their competitors.

Support and Security: We also detailed the type and quality of customer support and security
features provided by each company, which was essential in assessing the overall reliability and
safety of the hosting service.

2.2 Detailed Discussion:

Following the creation of the comparison spreadsheet, our team engaged in a detailed discussion
to evaluate the findings. We reviewed each aspect of the hosting services in depth, considering
how well they aligned with the company’s requirements:

Company Needs: We discussed the specific needs of Mittal Finance and Investment Services,
including the anticipated traffic to the website, the importance of uptime, and the need for robust
security features to protect client data.

Where, Why, and How We Used It:

In our project, Node.js is used to build the backend of the website. It handles server-side logic,
including managing user sessions, processing form submissions, and interacting with the
database. We chose Node.js because of its ability to handle multiple connections
simultaneously with minimal overhead, which is crucial for a high-traffic website.
Additionally, Node.js enables us to use JavaScript throughout the entire development stack,
which simplifies the codebase and reduces the learning curve. The backend services powered
by Node.js ensure that our website is fast, reliable, and capable of handling complex
operations efficiently.

5. MySQL

MySQL is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that uses structured query
language (SQL) for database management. It is one of the most popular databases in the
world, known for its reliability, security, and ease of use. MySQL is used to store, retrieve, and

used in web applications to store user information, content, transaction records, and more.
MySQL supports complex queries, transactions, and indexing, making it suitable for

4. CONCLUSION

My internship at Mittal Finance and Investment Services, alongside my colleagues Mohit and
Abhishek, has been a highly enriching experience that has significantly shaped our
understanding of the financial services industry. Under the guidance of our mentor, Krishna
Temkar, we were able to contribute meaningfully to several key projects while also enhancing
our technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

A major highlight of our internship was our collective involvement in the company’s digital
transformation. We worked together on the design and development of the company’s website,
a project that required us to leverage our knowledge of web technologies and user experience
design. Collaborating on this project not only helped us create a functional and visually
appealing website but also taught us the importance of teamwork, communication, and creative
problem-solving. Working with technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and backend
systems, we were able to bring the company’s vision to life in a digital platform that
effectively meets user needs and aligns with the company’s goals.

Another significant aspect of our internship was the organization and execution of a seminar
on the Indian taxation system, aimed at educating civil engineers on tax-saving strategies and
efficient financial planning. This experience involved extensive research, content creation, and
logistical planning, allowing us to deepen our understanding of taxation and financial
management while also honing our ability to convey complex information in a clear and
accessible manner.

Throughout this internship, the mentorship of Krishna Temkar was instrumental in guiding us
through challenges and helping us grow both professionally and personally. The combination
of technical skills, industry knowledge, and practical experience we gained will undoubtedly
serve as a strong foundation for our future careers.

In conclusion, this internship has been a transformative experience, equipping us with the skills
and insights necessary to excel in the financial services industry.
