 The SDGs are 17 global goals launched in 2015 to address key issues like
poverty, health, educa�on, and equality.
 The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 global goals set by the
United Na�ons (UN) to make the world a beter place by 2030. These goals
address major global challenges like poverty, educa�on, health, gender
equality, and climate change.
 Launched in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
 Built on the previous Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (2000-2015).
 Universal – applies to all countries, rich and poor.
 Focuses on "Leaving No One Behind", ensuring that no group is excluded.

 SDG 4 (Quality Educa�on): Ensuring inclusive and equitable educa�on.
 SDG 10 (Reduced Inequali�es): Reducing discrimina�on and inequality.

� SDG 1: No Poverty
Goal: End poverty in all its forms everywhere.

� Key Targets:
 Reduce poverty by half (Target 1.2) – Reduce the number of people living in poverty by
at least 50%.
 Social protec�on systems (Target 1.3) – Implement social protec�on measures (e.g.,
pensions, unemployment benefits).
� Indicators:
 % of people living below the interna�onal poverty line ($2.15 per day).
 Coverage of social protec�on programs.

� SDG 2: Zero Hunger


Goal: End hunger and ensure food security and nutri�on.

� Key Targets:
 End malnutri�on (Target 2.2) – Reduce stun�ng and was�ng in children under 5.
 Sustainable food produc�on (Target 2.4) – Promote climate-resilient farming.

� Indicators:
 % of undernourished people.
 Prevalence of stun�ng (low height-for-age) in children under 5.

� SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being


Goal: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all.

� Key Targets:
 Reduce maternal mortality (Target 3.1) – Reduce maternal deaths to <70 per 100,000
births.
 End epidemics (Target 3.3) – Stop HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.

� Indicators:
 Maternal mortality rate per 100,000 births.
 HIV incidence rate per 1,000 people.

� SDG 4: Quality Educa�on


Goal: Ensure inclusive and equitable educa�on for all.

� Key Targets:
Universal primary & secondary educa�on (Target 4.1) – All children complete free, quality
educa�on.

Equal access to educa�on (Target 4.5) – Reduce gender and disability dispari�es.

� Indicators:

 % of children comple�ng primary and secondary school.


 Literacy rate of youth and adults.

� SDG 5: Gender Equality


Goal: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

� Key Targets:
 End all forms of discrimina�on (Target 5.1).
 Eliminate violence against women (Target 5.2).

� Indicators:
 % of women in parliament or decision-making roles.
 % of women experiencing domes�c violence.

� SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanita�on


Goal: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanita�on.

� Key Targets:
 Universal access to safe water (Target 6.1).
 Improve water quality (Target 6.3) – Reduce pollu�on.

� Indicators:
 % of popula�on with access to clean drinking water.
 Water pollu�on levels.
� SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Goal: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable energy.

� Key Targets:
 Universal energy access (Target 7.1).

Goal: Make ci�es inclusive, safe, and resilient.

� Key Targets:
 Safe and affordable housing (Target 11.1).
 Improve public transport (Target 11.2).

� Indicators:
 % of urban popula�on living in slums.
 Availability of public transport.

� SDG 12: Responsible Consump�on and Produc�on


Goal: Ensure sustainable consump�on and produc�on.
