cm long, find the maximum length of each piece if the length of each piece must be a whole

### 9. Mixed Number Operations (4 marks)

a) Thabo had 4 3/4 meters of fabric. He used 2 1/4 meters to make a shirt. How much fabric
does he have left? (2 marks)

b) A water tank contains 7 3/5 liters of water. If Lesedi draws 2 2/5 liters and then adds 3 1/3
liters, how much water is now in the tank? (2 marks)
