Your job
OpenVMS Support core technology expert
You will be able to design and implement solutions at clients
Accept and Implement the Tickets in Service Now
o Provide infrastructure analysis services to clients and/or internal
stakeholders
o Analyse and understand user need and expectations, as well as
alternative infrastructure architectures and trends
o Conduct analyses of technology and associated operational processes,
with a view to recommending infrastructure designs and strategies that
will improve service, lower costs, and prevent unforeseen operational
issues.

OpenVMS Technical Support
o Level 2 Level 3 Support for Server, Storage, Backup, Monitoring, File
System, Capacity, User Security, and access.
o Volume Manager, Cluster, Cloud Support
o Document creation, Cross Platform Knowledge
o Troubleshooting and Problem management
o Scripting / Ansible knowledge
o Tools knowledge Service Now, Monitoring, Backup.
Administering an OpenVMS environment along with considerable knowledge of OpenVMS
clustering on HPE Integrity hardware; experience installing and administering layered products
including Decforms, Datatrieve, DECnet, TCP/IP, ACMS, COBOL, RDB, and C/C+
on an OpenVMS cluster.
Experience installing and maintaining interface software such as Backup, SQL that transmit data
between disparate systems, with messaging and data interfaces to Windows/Unix web-based
applications is highly desirable.
Experience with controlM job scheduling is also a plus to manage nightly batch processing.
Duties will include:
Supporting and maintaining a multi-node OpenVMS cluster, running on HPE Integrity hardware.
Monitoring the systems and tuning resources as required to maintain performance standards.
Testing and updating system software, firmware and layered products applying engineering
change orders as needed and directed.
Performing network administration using TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LPR/LPD, Samba and SSL
protocols; implementing and testing FTP and SFTP.
File or Volume backup and restoration, familiarity with ABC client and the StorServer application.
Managing interfaces between disparate systems and SQLserver databases using products such
as Attunity Connect, and Replicate for cross-platform queries and data replication Creating and
maintaining documentation and operating procedures.
Creating and maintaining system logicals.
Managing security parameters and access control lists.
Creating and managing user accounts as well as print and batch queues.
Restoration, recovery of files, data, volumes, or Environment on demand.
Providing support to the user community and application developers and troubleshooting
problems.
Researching and recommending new products and upgrades to meet evolving business needs.
Solid troubleshooting skills along with strong oral and written communication skills and the ability
to work and collaborate with personnel in other disciplines including application developers,
business analysts, and network analysts is required.
Communicate with DC for Tape management for Backup and Restoration.
Qualifications
Your background
Must have:
Technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience of working in IT infrastructure
engineering/architecture
Strong Experience on OpenVMS Administrator
Combination of either Linux, Solaris or Linux Aix, HPUX will be add-on
experience with On-Prem / Private Cloud Infrastructure services.
At least 1 Infrastructure Advanced Certification (OpenVMS, Microsoft,
RedHat, AIX, Solaris, etc.) or hyperscale Advanced Certification (AWS, Azure,
GCP)
User Management, Security, Roles, Administration, Patching,
Backup/Restore, Service Now, Cluster, Volume Manager
Familiar with main operating systems (Linux and Windows)
Nice to have:
Familiar with Public Cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP).
Team player with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and
resolve complex problems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to clearly
communicate ideas and results to client and company supervisors.
