1. Warm-up:
- Give students 4 pictures and ask them some questions. See pictures and go to the board to
write the answers.

- Ask students to go to the board and write down the

- Lead-in: /pt/, /bd/, /ps/ and /bz/
2. Distinguish sounds Listen and take-note
- Model the /pt/, /bd/, /ps/ and /bz/
for few times and explains how to pronounce them
ex: 1. jump: - “ed” /pt/
- “s” /ps/
2. rob: - “ed” /bd/
- “s” /bz/ Listen and repeat
- Read once for students to hear the words containing these
sounds.
- Ask students to repeat
3. Practicing sentences containing the target sounds Work in pairs
- Ask students to work in pairs to practise reading the

Form:

Usage: - focus on a particular part of the sentence (S, O, A)


and emphasize what we want to say.
- We use preparatory it in cleft sentences and join
the words that we want to focus on to the relative clause
with that or who.
- Guide students the way to cleft sentences:

a. Subject focus:
It was Doraemon who gave Nobita a book last month.
 It is/was + S + that/who + V + …
b. Object focus:
- It was Nobita that/who Doraemon gave a book in his
room last month.
- It was the book that Doraemon gave Nobita in his
room last month.
 It is/was + O + that/who(m) + S + V + …
c. Adverbial focus:
- It was in his room that Doraemon gave Nobita a book
last month.
- It was last month that Doraemon gave Nobita a book
in his room.

2. Practise:
a. Task 1: Read the following sentences and decide what Individual work
