What is Web Development?
• The Process of creating, maintaining and building websites and
applications that work over the internet.
• This can include working on front-end or back-end or both.

• Front End – the process of designing and building the user-facing part
of a website or application, focusing on the visual and interactive
elements that users see and interact with.

• Back End – It focuses on the server-side logic and infrastructure of a
website or application, including databases, APIs, and server-side
programming languages, ensuring the website functions correctly and

What is Internet?
• The Internet is a global network of interconnected computers that
communicate using standard protocols like TCP/IP. It allows
devices worldwide to share information, access websites, send
emails, stream media, and more.
What are packets & how they transfer data?
• Packets are small units of data used in digital communication.
When data is sent over a network (like the internet), it is broken
down into smaller chunks called packets to ensure efficient and
reliable transmission.
Web Page vs Web Server vs Web browser vs Search Engine

• Web Page- A single document on the internet that contains text, images,
videos, and links.

• Web Server- A computer or software that stores and delivers web pages to
user when requested

• Web Browser- A software application used to access web pages by retrieving


and displaying them from a web server.

• Search Engine- A platform that helps users find web pages by indexing and
ranking them based on relevance.
What is Client and Server?
• Client- A client is a device or application that request resource or
services from a server.
• Server- It is a computer or system that provides resources, data,
services to other computers(clients) over a network.
What is IP Address?
• An IP Address is a unique numerical label assigned to each
device connected to a network that uses the Internet Protocol
(IP) for communication. It acts like a home address for devices,
allowing them to send and receive data.
What is DNS?
• DNS (Domain Name System) is a system that translates human-
readable domain names (e.g. google.com) into IP Address
(142.250.190.14), which computers use to communicate over the
internet.
