Prefatory Statement:
This research paper focuses on the EXPERIENCES OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
COMPLETERS IN SCIENCE SPIRAL PROGRESSION CURRICULUM. This will consider
the the perceptions of the junior high school completers on the implementation of spiral
progressive curriculum in science. The development of spiral progression curriculum for you to
become scientifically and technologically literate. The problems and challenges that you
encountered in the spiral progression curriculum, and your coping mechanism with the problems
encountered in the spiral progression curriculum.
This research study will not be realized without your utmost participation as key
participants. Thus, the researcher is thankful for your acceptance to be one of the informants in
gathering sufficient data.
In the interview process, all your answers are highly regarded since it is based on your
dignified experiences. Moreover, answers will be held with confidentiality and secrecy in order
to hide your identity and respect your own experiences. You have also the right to refuse in
answering some questions if you feel discomfort with the questions.
The interview will last approximately 20-30 minutes. Notes will be written during the
interview. Also, an audio tape of the interview and subsequent dialogue will be made upon your
consent.

Statement of the Problem
This research aimed to explore the encounters of Junior High School completers in the
Science progressive curriculum. The study was conducted in the Siay National High School,
Poblacion, Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay for the school year 2021-2022, in which the Grade 11 and
12 learners were the key participants.
The study's central problem would focus on: What are the experiences of the JHS
completers in the Science spiral progressive curriculum? The following sub-questions were
addressed in this research:
1. What are the perceptions of the junior high school completers on the implementation
of spiral progressive curriculum in Science?
2. How does the spiral progression curriculum develop them to become scientifically
and technologically literate?
3. What are the problems and challenges that they encountered in the spiral progression
curriculum?
4. How do the junior high school completers cope with the problems encountered in the
spiral progression curriculum?
