Good [morning/afternoon], everyone. Thank you for joining us.
We’re excited
to present Karughor, an online tailoring startup set to transform custom
fashion in Bangladesh. Our pitch will take just under 10 minutes, so let’s dive
in.
We’re Karughor, and we’re here to make personalized, perfectly fitted clothing
accessible to everyone. By blending traditional craftsmanship with modern
tech, we offer a seamless online platform where customers design their dream
outfits, see 3D previews, and get accurate, timely delivery. We also have an
optional physical store for those who prefer a hands-on touch.
Our mission is simple: empower people to express themselves through
flawless garments. Here’s what we offer: first, accurate and timely delivery of
tailored clothes with 3D previews to ensure maximum satisfaction. Customers
can pick fabrics, input measurements virtually, and track their orders in real-
time. Beyond fashion, we’re making a difference by employing trained
artisans—underprivileged women, third gender, disabled individuals, freelance
tailors, and fashion students—creating jobs and fostering inclusivity.
The market is ready for us. Bangladesh’s love for bespoke clothing is growing,
fueled by rising smartphone use and a demand for personalized, sustainable
fashion. Our target? Tech-savvy, fashion-conscious folks aged 15-40—urban
professionals and socially aware consumers who want affordable, custom-fit
clothing.
Let’s talk about our team. I’m [your name], joined by Ahsanul Kabir, our CEO
and tech lead, driving our app’s vision. Fatimatuj Jahura Arin handles
operations and logistics, ensuring smooth production. Ireen Akter leads
marketing with influencer campaigns, while Kazi Jesan curates’ trendy
designs. Tasneem Khan keeps our finances sustainable, and Tanim Morshed
oversees inclusive hiring. Together, we combine tech, fashion, and social
impact expertise, perfectly aligned with Bangladesh’s e-commerce boom.
Our business model is straightforward. Customers use our app to design
garments and input measurements. Our artisans—women, third gender,
disabled, freelancers, and students—craft each piece with care. Orders are
delivered to homes or picked up at our Tejgaon warehouse. We earn through
custom orders, premium add-ons like embroidery, and a future ready-to-order
line. Our value proposition? Hyper-personalized garments, reliable delivery,
and ethical practices that resonate with today’s conscious consumers.
Here’s how we’ll reach our market with the 7 Ps. Our product is bespoke
apparel with a virtual catalog. Prices range from BDT 800 to 2,000—affordable
yet profitable. Packages include Top Only at 1,000, Bottom Only at 800,
Complete Outfit at 1,600, and a Premium Collection at 2,000 with fast
delivery. We also offer a 300-per-month styling subscription and add-ons like
fast delivery for 150 or premium packaging for 100. Our place is online, with a
warehouse in Tejgaon. For promotion, we’ll use a market penetration strategy
to build a user base, leveraging our first-mover advantage to become the go-
to name in online tailoring. Later, we’ll introduce varied packages to boost
profits. We’re allocating 30% of our budget to influencers for campaigns
during Eid and Boishakh, 20% to social media like Instagram and TikTok, 25%
to our website with blogs and reviews, 10% to email offers, and 5% to
workshops. Our people are skilled artisans and a dedicated support team. Our
process ensures smooth design-to-delivery, and our eco-friendly packaging
proves our quality.
Financially, we’re solid. We need BDT 2.3 million to launch—500,000 for the
app, 200,000 for marketing, and 1.6 million for training and infrastructure. Our
breakeven point is 562 units in Year 1, with an average order value of 1,600
and variable costs of 800. We expect 50% growth in Year 2, hitting around
840 units, and 30-40% growth in Years 3-5 as we add features. Funding comes
from 1 million in equity, 500,000 from angel investors, 300,000 in grants, and
a 500,000 loan at 10% over 5 years. Operating costs include fair wages,
delivery partnerships, and app maintenance, keeping us lean and scalable.
The external environment favors us. Smartphone penetration is soaring, and
there’s a clear trend toward sustainable, personalized fashion. Industry
barriers are moderate, but our tech and ethics give us an edge. Suppliers
have low power since we diversify sourcing, and while buyers have options,
they stick with personalization. Competitors like local tailors or boutiques can’t
match our tech-driven delivery or ethical model. Bangladesh’s growing middle
class and stable economy support our affordability, with low labor costs letting
us pay fairly while keeping prices competitive.
Our roadmap is clear. In Years 1-2, we launch our app with a virtual catalog
and 3D previews, train artisans, and market via influencers while refining
based on feedback. Years 3-5, we grow with AI style suggestions, body
matching, and designer collaborations, scaling training and suppliers. By Year
6 and beyond, we’ll add AR previews, eco-materials, and explore South Asian
markets, cementing Karughor as an ethical trendsetter. Key milestones: app
beta in Q1 2025, breakeven by Q3 2025, AI features by 2027, and regional
expansion by 2030.
Of course, there are risks. Miscommunication between customers and artisans
could cause delays. App glitches might disrupt service. Competitors could
challenge our share. Traffic or unreliable delivery partners may slow us down.
Fabric shortages could halt production. Rapid growth might strain our capacity
or quality. Poor fits could hurt our reputation. And fashion industry scrutiny
could spotlight any unsustainable practices. We’re ready to tackle these with
strong planning and adaptability.
In closing, Karughor is more than tailoring—it’s a movement. We’re redefining
fashion with tech, inclusivity, and reliability, meeting a growing market need
while creating jobs and impact. With 2.3 million, we’ll hit the ground running,
break even in Year 1, and build a brand that’s iconic in Bangladesh and
beyond. We’d love your support to make this vision real. Thank you. Any
questions?
