Marive Excel Internship Assignment

Objective: To evaluate your ability to:

 Work with Excel formulas


 Analyze and visualize data
 Build custom spreadsheets from scratch

Instructions: Please complete the following tasks in Microsoft Excel. No template or data file
will be provided. You are expected to create everything from scratch based on the instructions
below.

Step 1: Create a New Excel Workbook

 Rename the first sheet as: Raw Data


 In Row 1, enter the following column headers:

Date | Product Category | Product Name | Units Sold | Unit Price | Total
Sales

 Enter at least 30 rows of fictional sales data


 Guidelines:
o Use dates between Jan 2025 and Mar 2025
o Use 4 categories: Electronics, Clothing, Kitchen, Books
o Use realistic values for Unit Price ($10–$500) and Units Sold (1–100)

Step 2: Apply Formulas and Summary Calculations

In the Total Sales column:

 Calculate: =Units Sold * Unit Price

Create a new sheet named Summary and include:

 Total Sales by Category (using SUMIF or Pivot Table)


 Average Unit Price per Category
 Identify Top Selling Product (using formula or sorting)
 Apply Conditional Formatting to highlight products with Total Sales over $1000
Step 3: Data Visualization

Create a new sheet named Dashboard and include:

 A Bar Chart for Total Sales by Category


 A Line Chart showing Monthly Sales Trend (Total Sales by Month)

Step 4: Design a Clean Dashboard

On the Dashboard sheet, summarize the following:

 Total Revenue
 Best Month (based on sales)
 Best Performing Category
 Include the charts from Step 3
 Use colors and formatting to create a clean and readable design

Bonus (Optional):

 Add slicers or filters to make your dashboard interactive


 Add a dropdown for Product Category using Data Validation
 Add a simple Profit column assuming a 30% margin

Submission:

 Save the file as: YourName_ZapicalExcelTest.xlsx


 Submit within 48 hours of receiving the assignment

please feel free to include them with your submission or share links/screenshots. We love seeing
