What are you afraid of?
“When everything becomes dark.”
Darkness meaning the absence of light?
“The feeling of darkness. I’m afraid of the constraint. I’m afraid of not
knowing what’s ahead. I’m afraid I might get hurt. I don’t know what’s out
there.”
You’re scared of uncertainty it makes you feel like a prisoner? It strips you off
your freedom. Is that it?
“Right.”
But that’s the contrary of what you people believe in. You believe in a God,
right?
“I do.”
Then, if I’d assumed it correctly, you have this faith that gives you hope in
your uncertainties. And that you shouldn’t be afraid ‘cause your God got you.
Why then do you still fear the darkness?
“It is a human response when they sense anything that means danger. We’ve
been placed in a cruel world where human vulnerabilities are not impossible.
And well, vulnerabilities caused by humans’ lack of faith. Just because you
have God or you have faith doesn’t mean you can’t be vulnerable. It’s like
believing that dark entities exist too even if you believe in God. See, I am
human. I am vulnerable. I get afraid. But it doesn’t mean it’s my identity.
Maybe, just maybe, we need to be a little afraid to be a little more faithful.”
