Background of the Report Provide an introduction to the internship report, the purpose of the
internship.

As part of our HVCO (Human Values and Community Outreach) curriculum, I joined Aarohan NGO to
support its members and contribute to their initiatives. This was my first experience working with an
NGO, and I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. While teaching elementary school students may
seem simple in theory, I quickly realized that it requires patience, creativity, and adaptability.
Interacting with young minds, understanding their learning pace, and keeping them engaged was
both a challenge and a rewarding experience. This opportunity not only helped me step out of my
comfort zone but also deepened my appreciation for the impact of education in shaping young lives.

Aarohan Overview Provide a background of the NGO, main Areas of Work/Focus and
Target Audience and Impact.
Aarohan primarily focuses on educating and mentoring elementary and middle school students, many
of whom face financial and social challenges. The NGO not only provides academic support but also
works to build their confidence and motivation, empowering them to overcome obstacles.

During my time at Aarohan, I realized that while many students had big dreams, they often lacked
guidance on how to achieve them. I had the opportunity to help them define their aspirations, break
them down into achievable steps, and instill self-belief. This experience gave me a deeper
understanding of their struggles and reinforced the vital role mentorship plays in shaping their
futures.

Aarohan supports children from underprivileged backgrounds by offering education, guidance, and
emotional support. Many of these students face hardships that limit their access to opportunities,
making the NGO’s role essential in helping them build a better future.

By fostering confidence, discipline, and a sense of purpose, Aarohan empowers these children to rise
above challenges and work toward their dreams. I hope that my guidance and encouragement made
a meaningful impact, inspiring them to strive for a brighter future. Education is not just about gaining
knowledge—it’s about empowerment, and I am truly grateful to have been part of this transformative
journey.

Your Position, and Key Explain the role you held during your internship, list and explain the
Responsibility during objectives set for your internship, and describe the main tasks and
Internship projects you worked on during your internship.
During my internship at Aarohan NGO, I volunteered as an educator, conducting sessions at various
centers, including Greater Noida and Malviya Nagar. My primary role involved teaching and
mentoring elementary and middle school students, helping them strengthen their academic
foundation while also building confidence in communication and interpersonal skills.

One of my key responsibilities was providing academic support in Hindi, English, Mathematics, and
Environmental Science (EVS). In language classes, we focused on improving fluency and self-
assurance, particularly in English. One of the most rewarding moments was teaching students how to
introduce themselves—a simple yet powerful exercise that significantly boosted their confidence.
Initially, many were shy and hesitant, especially when speaking English, but with consistent
encouragement and practice, they gradually became more engaged and expressive. Witnessing their
transformation was truly fulfilling.

Mathematics lessons were made interactive by using real-life examples to explain concepts like
division. Rather than just teaching formulas, we incorporated engaging activities, such as distributing
toffees among students, to make learning more relatable and fun. The joy on their faces when they
grasped a concept through these practical methods made teaching an incredibly rewarding
experience. However, the most enjoyable moments were during activity-based learning sessions,
where games like musical chairs helped improve teamwork, coordination, and self-confidence.

At the Malviya Nagar center, I also had the opportunity to oversee computer and tailoring sessions.
Watching students work on computers and witnessing young girls create intricate designs in tailoring
was truly inspiring. Their enthusiasm and creativity exceeded expectations, and some of their designs
were so impressive that we decided to document them as part of our internship report.

Beyond teaching, we also worked on enhancing Aarohan’s social media presence by creating posts
that highlighted the NGO’s initiatives and impact. This effort aimed to raise awareness about their
work, attract potential supporters, and showcase the students’ achievements. Contributing in a way
that not only directly benefited the students but also helped Aarohan gain more visibility was
incredibly rewarding.

By the end of the internship, the students had started recognizing us, greeting us with smiles and
enthusiasm each time we visited. Knowing that we had made even a small but meaningful impact on
their lives was deeply fulfilling. Giving back to society in a way that empowered these children, even
in the smallest capacity, was an experience I will always cherish.

Learning and Skills 1.Highlight the skills you gained during your internship (e.g.,
Acquired communication, teamwork, project management, research, report
writing). 2.Explain any new insights you gained about the NGO sector,
community work, and social change. 3.Reflect on how the internship
contributed to your personal and professional development.

1.Skills Developed: This internship provided a well-rounded skill set, enhancing both personal and
professional growth. I improved my communication skills by explaining concepts clearly, encouraging
shy learners, and creating engaging social media content for Aarohan.

Through leadership and mentorship, I guided students in setting goals, motivated them to
participate, and helped build their confidence. Teaching required creativity and problem-solving,
using interactive methods and real-life examples to make learning engaging. Working closely with
interns and staff strengthened my teamwork, adaptability, and patience, as I tailored lessons to
student needs while understanding their social challenges.

Additionally, I developed digital and technical skills through computer literacy sessions and social
media management. Organizing activities enhanced my event planning abilities, ensuring sessions
were both educational and enjoyable.

Most importantly, this experience deepened my emotional intelligence and social awareness.
Interacting with these children reinforced the importance of empathy and community service, leaving
me with a lasting commitment to making a meaningful impact in society.
2.Knowledge Gained: Through this internship, I gained valuable insights into teaching, mentorship,
and the challenges faced by underprivileged children. Working with elementary and middle school
students helped me understand different learning styles and the importance of making lessons
interactive.

Teaching subjects like Hindi, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Science wasn’t just about
academics—it was about building confidence and encouraging students to think beyond textbooks.
Many were hesitant to speak English, but with regular practice and motivation, they grew more
comfortable. One unexpected yet memorable experience was teaching Hindi, a subject I hadn’t
studied in years.

Revisiting grammar rules and reading passages felt nostalgic, reminding me of my own school days.
Another eye-opening realization was how disconnected the students were from current events. To
spark curiosity, we introduced simple discussions about national and local news, which gradually
encouraged them to stay informed and ask questions. Beyond teaching, I gained a deeper
understanding of their struggles and aspirations. Helping them set goals and believe in themselves
was incredibly fulfilling.

I also learned about the operational side of an NGO, the impact of skill-based learning, and the role of
digital platforms in spreading awareness. Observing students in tailoring and computer sessions was
inspiring, especially seeing the creativity and dedication of young girls developing practical skills.

This experience was more than just teaching—it was a lesson in empathy, patience, and the
transformative power of education. Seeing the students grow in confidence and engage more deeply
reinforced my belief that small efforts can make a big difference. I am grateful to have been part of
their journey.

3.Personal/Professional Growth: This internship played a crucial role in my personal and professional
growth, shaping me in unexpected ways. On a personal level, it deepened my empathy and
awareness of social challenges.

Interacting with students from diverse backgrounds made me more appreciative of my privileges and
more mindful of the struggles faced by underprivileged children. Teaching required patience,
adaptability, and creativity, as each student learned differently. Encouraging shy students to
participate and watching their confidence grow was incredibly fulfilling, reinforcing the impact of
mentorship and motivation.

Professionally, this experience enhanced my communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Teaching improved my ability to express ideas clearly, while collaborating with volunteers
strengthened my coordination skills. Creating social media content introduced me to digital
engagement in nonprofit work, and mentoring students on their aspirations provided valuable career
guidance experience.

A key highlight was interacting with Mr. Suraj, a dedicated NGO member whose passion for
education and community service was truly inspiring. His guidance and insights enriched my
understanding of social work and the challenges involved. Overall, this internship pushed me out of
my comfort zone, improved my problem-solving abilities, and deepened my sense of social
responsibility. It reinforced my belief in the transformative power of education, and I feel privileged
to have contributed in a small but meaningful way.

Challenges Faced During Internship How did you overcome the challenges

During my internship at Aarohan NGO, I faced several challenges that contributed to my personal and
professional growth. One of the biggest hurdles was teaching students with varying learning abilities
and confidence levels. While some were eager, others were hesitant, especially in speaking English.
With patience and interactive methods like storytelling and real-life examples, even the shyest
students became more engaged.

Keeping young, energetic students focused was another challenge. I found that incorporating games
and group discussions made learning more enjoyable while improving their teamwork and
communication skills. Revisiting subjects like Hindi, which I hadn’t studied in years, was also initially
difficult but soon turned into a nostalgic and rewarding experience.

I also noticed that many students lacked awareness of current events. To address this, we introduced
simple discussions about news and general knowledge, gradually sparking their curiosity. Balancing
teaching, organizing activities, and managing social media content was demanding, but it
strengthened my time management and multitasking skills.

With the guidance of Mr. Suraj, who provided invaluable support, I navigated these challenges more
effectively. Despite the difficulties, each obstacle became a learning opportunity, helping me develop
patience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. By the end of the internship, I felt deeply fulfilled
knowing that my contributions, no matter how small, had made a difference.

classroom. My primary role involved teaching elementary and middle school students at different
centers, including Greater Noida and Malviya Nagar. I assisted them with subjects like Hindi, English,
Mathematics, and Environmental Science (EVS), using real-life examples, storytelling, and interactive
activities to make learning more engaging. A key focus was building their confidence in English
communication by encouraging regular practice, which helped many students overcome their initial
hesitation and express themselves more comfortably.

Beyond academics, I worked on enhancing students’ awareness of current events. Realizing that many
had limited knowledge of the world beyond their daily lives, I introduced simple general knowledge
discussions between lessons, gradually sparking their curiosity and interest in staying informed.

teamwork skills—qualities that will benefit me in any career path.

In the end, this experience left me with a strong sense of gratitude and a deeper commitment to
giving back. It reinforced my belief that small, consistent efforts can create lasting change, and I hope

communities.

Academically, I aim to continue my studies while exploring ways to use analytics for financial
awareness and economic development, particularly for underprivileged groups. Professionally, I hope
to align my career with initiatives that combine data-driven solutions with social responsibility, such
as financial inclusion projects or corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

skill-development programs, or NGO support, I want to stay actively involved in community outreach.
Additionally, I’ve learned the value of adaptability and continuous learning—skills that will be
essential in any career path.

In the long run, I aspire to work on projects that bridge education, financial empowerment, and data
analytics to create meaningful change. This internship has instilled in me a strong sense of purpose,
ensuring that wherever my career takes me, I remain committed to making a positive impact.

Background of the Report Provide an introduction to the internship report, the purpose of the
internship.
As part of the Human Values and Community Outreach (HVCO) curriculum, I chose
to intern at Aarohan NGO, an organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged
children through education and skill development. This internship was not only an
opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause but also a journey of self-discovery
and learning.

This was my first time being actively involved with an NGO, and I approached it with
a mix of excitement and nervousness. While I was eager to make a difference, I also
felt uncertain about how well I would be able to connect with the children and
contribute effectively. The idea of teaching elementary school students seemed simple
in theory, but once I stepped into the classroom, I quickly realized the challenges
involved. Keeping young minds engaged, adapting to their learning pace, and
ensuring they understood even the most basic concepts required patience, creativity,
and empathy.

Beyond teaching, this internship gave me an opportunity to witness the realities faced
by underprivileged children and the transformative role that education plays in their
lives. It helped me develop critical life skills such as communication, adaptability, and
problem-solving, while also instilling a deeper sense of empathy and responsibility
toward society.

This report highlights my experiences, challenges, and key takeaways from my time
at Aarohan NGO, reflecting on the impact of this internship both on me as an
individual and on the students I had the privilege to teach.
Aarohan Overview Provide a background of the NGO, main Areas of Work/Focus and
Target Audience and Impact.

Aarohan primarily focuses on educating and mentoring elementary and middle school
students, many of whom face financial and social barriers. The NGO not only
provides academic guidance but also works to boost their confidence and motivation.

During my time at Aarohan, I realized that while many students had dreams, they
lacked direction on how to achieve them. I had the opportunity to help them define
their goals, break them into achievable steps, and encourage them to believe in
themselves. This experience deepened my understanding of their struggles and
reinforced the importance of mentorship in shaping their futures.

Aarohan works with children from underprivileged backgrounds, providing them with
education, guidance, and emotional support. Many of these students face hardships
that limit their access to opportunities, making Aarohan’s role crucial in shaping their
futures.

By instilling confidence, discipline, and a sense of purpose, the NGO helps these
children overcome challenges and work toward their dreams. I hope that my guidance
and encouragement left a lasting impact, inspiring them to strive for a brighter future.
Education is not just about learning—it’s about empowerment, and I’m grateful to

One of the main objectives of my role was to provide academic support in Hindi,

proud moment for us to see our efforts reflected in their growing confidence.

Mathematics lessons were made interactive by incorporating real-life examples to

relatable activities such as dividing toffees among students to make learning more

impressive that we decided to document them as part of our internship report.

Beyond our teaching responsibilities, we also worked on enhancing Aarohan’s social

media presence by creating posts highlighting the NGO’s efforts and impact. This
initiative aimed to spread awareness about the organization’s work, attract potential
supporters, and showcase the achievements of the students. It was fulfilling to
contribute in a way that not only helped the students directly but also helped Aarohan
gain more visibility and support for their cause.

By the end of the internship, the students had started recognizing us, greeting us with

Learning and Skills 1.Highlight the skills you gained during your internship (e.g.,
Acquired communication, teamwork, project management, research, report
writing). 2.Explain any new insights you gained about the NGO sector,
community work, and social change. 3.Reflect on how the internship
contributed to your personal and professional development.

1.Skills Developed:

This internship provided a well-rounded skill set, enhancing both

personal and professional growth. Communication skills improved
significantly as I learned to explain concepts clearly to young students,
encourage shy learners to speak up, and create engaging social media
posts to showcase Aarohan’s impact. Through leadership and mentorship, I
developed the ability to guide students in setting goals, motivate them
to participate, and ensure they gained confidence in their abilities.
Teaching required creativity and problem-solving, as I had to use interactive
methods like real-life examples and activities to make learning more
engaging and effective. Teamwork and collaboration were crucial as I worked
closely with fellow interns and Aarohan staff to plan lessons, organize
activities, and support students in different learning environments. This
experience also strengthened my adaptability and patience, as I learned to
adjust teaching methods based on individual student needs while
understanding the social challenges they faced. The internship
introduced me to digital and technical skills, particularly in assisting with
computer literacy sessions and creating social media content to
increase the NGO’s visibility. Additionally, organizing games and
coordinating activities helped me develop event planning and activity management
skills, ensuring sessions were both educational and enjoyable. Most
importantly, I gained a deeper sense of emotional intelligence and social awareness,
as interacting with these children gave me a firsthand understanding of
their struggles, reinforcing the importance of empathy and community
service. This experience not only helped me grow as an educator but
also instilled a long-lasting commitment to making a meaningful impact
in society.

2.Knowledge Gained:

Through this internship, I gained valuable knowledge about teaching, mentorship, and
the challenges faced by underprivileged children. Working with elementary and
middle school students helped me understand how different children learn, and I
realized that making lessons interactive and practical made a huge difference.
Teaching subjects like Hindi, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Science was
not just about academics—it was about building confidence and encouraging students
to think beyond textbooks. Many of them were hesitant to speak in English, but with
regular practice and motivation, they became more comfortable.

One of the unexpected yet memorable moments was teaching Hindi. Since I had
stopped studying Hindi long ago, revisiting the subject felt nostalgic, taking me back
to my own school days. Explaining grammar rules, reading passages, and helping
students with their writing reminded me of the times I used to do the same as a child.
It was a unique experience to switch roles from a student to a teacher and relive that
part of my academic journey.

Another thing that stood out was how disconnected the students were from current
events. They had little awareness of what was happening in the world beyond their
daily lives. To help develop their interest in current affairs, we made it a habit to ask
simple questions in between lessons—about national events, general knowledge, or
even local news. Over time, this made them more curious, and they started asking us
questions too. It felt rewarding to see them engage in conversations beyond the
classroom and develop a habit of staying informed.

Spending time with these students also gave me a deeper understanding of their
struggles. Many had dreams but didn’t know how to achieve them, and guiding them
toward their goals was one of the most fulfilling parts of this experience. Beyond
teaching, I also got a glimpse into how an NGO operates, the efforts involved in
running educational programs, and the impact of initiatives like skill-based learning.

Additionally, working on social media posts for Aarohan gave me insight into how
digital platforms can be used to spread awareness and bring attention to social
causes. Observing students in the tailoring and computer sessions at the Malviya
Nagar center was equally inspiring. The creativity and dedication of the girls
designing intricate patterns were truly impressive, proving how important it is to
provide practical skills alongside education.

This internship was more than just a teaching experience—it was a lesson
in empathy, patience, and the power of education. Seeing the students grow in
confidence, engage more, and recognize us by the end of our time there was
incredibly fulfilling. It reinforced my belief that small efforts can make a big
difference, and I feel grateful to have been part of their learning journey.

3.Personal/Professional Growth:

This internship contributed significantly to both my personal and professional

growth, shaping me in ways I hadn’t expected. On a personal level, it deepened
my empathy and understanding of social challenges. Interacting with students from
different backgrounds made me more appreciative of the privileges I have and more
aware of the struggles faced by underprivileged children. Teaching them required
patience, adaptability, and creativity, as every student had a unique way of learning.
Encouraging shy students to participate and seeing them grow in confidence was
incredibly fulfilling, reinforcing the importance of kindness, mentorship, and
motivation in a child’s development.

Professionally, this experience strengthened my communication, leadership, and

teamwork skills. Teaching in front of a classroom improved my ability to express
ideas clearly, while planning lessons and activities with fellow volunteers helped me
understand the importance of collaboration and coordination. Creating social media
content for Aarohan also introduced me to the impact of digital engagement in
nonprofit work, a skill that is valuable in today’s world. Additionally, interacting
with students about their future aspirations gave me experience in mentorship and
career guidance, which is an essential skill in any professional field.

One of the highlights of my internship was interacting with Mr. Suraj, a dedicated
member of the NGO. He was incredibly helpful, guiding us throughout the experience
and sharing valuable insights about Aarohan’s work. His passion for education and
community service was truly inspiring, and I learned a lot from his approach to
tackling social challenges with determination and a positive attitude.

Overall, this internship pushed me out of my comfort zone, enhanced my problem-

solving abilities, and gave me a deeper sense of responsibility toward society. It
not only helped me grow as an individual but also equipped me with skills that will
benefit me in my academic and professional journey. Most importantly, it reinforced
my belief in the power of education to transform lives, and I feel privileged to have
played a small role in making a difference.
Challenges Faced During Internship How did you overcome the challenges
During my internship at Aarohan NGO, I faced several challenges that pushed me to
grow both personally and professionally. One of the biggest hurdles was teaching
students with different learning abilities and confidence levels. While some were
eager to participate, others were hesitant, especially when it came to speaking in
English. It took patience and encouragement to build their confidence. To make
learning more engaging, I used real-life examples, interactive activities, and
storytelling, which eventually helped even the shyest students become more
involved.

Keeping the students focused and disciplined was another challenge. Since they were
young and full of energy, it was difficult to hold their attention for long periods. I
realized that incorporating fun activities like group discussions and educational
games made learning more enjoyable and helped maintain their interest. These
activities also improved their teamwork, communication skills, and confidence.

One personal challenge was revisiting subjects I hadn’t studied in years, especially
Hindi. Since I had stopped studying it long ago, teaching it again felt unfamiliar at
first. However, as I started helping students with grammar and reading, I relived my
own school days, which made the experience nostalgic and enjoyable.

Another eye-opening challenge was noticing that many students were unaware of
current events. They had little exposure to news or general knowledge beyond their
immediate surroundings. To address this, we started asking them simple questions
about recent events and general awareness in between lessons. Over time, this
helped them develop an interest in what was happening in the world, and they even
began asking us questions in return.

Balancing multiple responsibilities, such as teaching, organizing activities, and

creating social media content for Aarohan, was also demanding. Managing time
effectively became crucial, and I learned how to prioritize tasks efficiently to
contribute in all areas without feeling overwhelmed.

Throughout this journey, I was fortunate to have the guidance of Mr. Suraj, who was
incredibly helpful and supportive. His encouragement and insights made it easier to
navigate challenges and make the most of my experience.

Despite these difficulties, each challenge became a learning opportunity, helping me

develop patience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. By the end of the
internship, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment knowing that my efforts had positively
impacted the students, no matter how small.
Your Contributions to the NGO Outline the specific ways your work contributed to the
organization, whether through projects, tasks completed, or
providing valuable support to staff.

During my internship at Aarohan NGO, I was able to contribute in multiple ways,

both inside and outside the classroom. My primary role involved teaching
elementary and middle school students across different centers, including Greater
Noida and Malviya Nagar. I helped them with subjects like Hindi, English,
Mathematics, and Environmental Science (EVS), making lessons more engaging
by using real-life examples, storytelling, and interactive activities. One of my key
contributions was building students' confidence in English communication by
teaching them how to introduce themselves and encouraging them to practice
speaking regularly. By the end of my time there, many students, who were initially
hesitant, had become more comfortable expressing themselves.

Beyond academics, I also worked on developing students' awareness of current

events. Noticing that many of them had little knowledge of what was happening
beyond their daily lives, I started incorporating simple general knowledge questions
between lessons. Over time, this helped spark their curiosity and encouraged them to
stay informed about the world around them.

Additionally, I contributed by helping organize and oversee extracurricular

activities that focused on teamwork, coordination, and confidence-building.
Activities like musical chairs, storytelling sessions, and group discussionsmade
learning fun while improving students' communication and social skills. At the
Malviya Nagar center, I also observed and provided support for computer literacy
and tailoring sessions, where I was amazed by the creativity of some of the girls
designing intricate patterns.

Another significant contribution was assisting with Aarohan’s social media

presence. I helped create social media posts to spread awareness about the NGO’s
work, highlighting its impact and encouraging more people to support the cause. This
not only benefited the organization but also allowed me to understand the importance
of digital engagement in the nonprofit sector.

Overall, my contributions were aimed at empowering students, enhancing their

learning experience, and supporting Aarohan’s mission of education and skill
development. Whether it was through teaching, mentoring, organizing activities,
or digital outreach, I am grateful to have played a small role in making a difference
in the lives of these students.

Reflection and Conclusion Reflect on the internship experience as a whole, mention

how the internship will influence your future career plans or
academic path, and discuss how the internship will
influence your future career plans or academic path.
1.Overall Experience: My internship at Aarohan NGO was a deeply transformative
experience that extended far beyond just fulfilling a curriculum requirement. It was an
opportunity to step out of my comfort zone, engage with a different reality, and
make a meaningful impact on young minds. From the very first day, I was filled
with both excitement and nervousness, unsure of how well I would be able to connect
with the students. However, as the days passed, I found myself not just teaching them
but learning from them as well—about resilience, determination, and the power of
hope.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this internship was witnessing the growth and
confidence in students. Many of them initially struggled with English, hesitant to
speak or introduce themselves, but through continuous encouragement, interactive
exercises, and constant motivation, they started speaking more fluently and
comfortably. Seeing their faces light up when they successfully answered a question
or introduced themselves with confidence was truly fulfilling. I realized that
sometimes, all children need is a little push, a little belief, and someone to tell them
they are capable.
Beyond academics, I became aware of a crucial gap in their learning—the lack of
awareness about current events and the world beyond their immediate
surroundings. Most students had little to no exposure to the news, and many were
unaware of significant national or global events. To help bridge this gap, we began
incorporating small general knowledge discussions and question-answer
sessions into our classes. Over time, this simple practice piqued their curiosity, and
they even started asking us questions in return. It was a small initiative, but one that I
hope will have a lasting impact by instilling a habit of staying informed.

Teaching Hindi was another unexpected but memorable part of my experience. Since
I had left studying Hindi long ago, going back to its grammar rules and literature
felt nostalgic. It reminded me of my own school days, and in a way, I relived that
journey alongside my students. It was a beautiful realization that learning is a lifelong
process, and sometimes, teaching can be just as educational as learning.

This internship was not just about classroom teaching—it was about holistic
development. I had the opportunity to oversee computer literacy and tailoring
sessions at the Malviya Nagar center, where I was amazed by the creativity and
dedication of some of the girls designing intricate patterns. Their skills reinforced
how education goes beyond textbooksand how skill-based learning can empower
individuals. Additionally, I contributed to Aarohan’s social media outreach,
creating posts to help spread awareness about the organization’s work. This
introduced me to the role of digital engagement in nonprofit work, which is an
invaluable skill in today’s world.

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey was interacting with Mr. Suraj, a
senior member at Aarohan. He was incredibly supportive, always ready to guide us
and share his experiences of working in the nonprofit sector. His passion for
education and his commitment to making a difference were truly inspiring. His words
of encouragement and insights into the challenges of running an NGO gave me a
deeper appreciation for the effort that goes into empowering marginalized
communities.

This internship has also had a profound impact on my future aspirations. As a

student of Actuarial Science, my academic focus has always been on numbers, logic,
and problem-solving. However, this experience reminded me that knowledge, no
matter how technical, should not be confined to personal growth but should be
used to uplift others. It has encouraged me to think about how I can integrate social
impact initiatives into my professional journey. Whether through volunteering,
mentorship, or corporate social responsibility programs, I now feel a stronger
responsibility to give back to society in any way I can.

Moreover, this experience has strengthened my soft skills, such as communication,

leadership, adaptability, and teamwork. Teaching required me to simplify complex
topics, work with students at different learning levels, and create a supportive
environment. Organizing activities and collaborating with fellow volunteers taught
me the importance of coordination, patience, and strategic planning. These skills
will undoubtedly help me in my future career, regardless of the field I choose.

In conclusion, my internship at Aarohan was a deeply fulfilling and eye-opening

journey. It not only helped me contribute to the lives of these children but also
changed my own perspective on education, privilege, and social responsibility. The
bonds I built with the students, the lessons I learned from them, and the impact I was
able to make will stay with me for a lifetime. This experience reinforced my belief
that small efforts, when made consistently and with sincerity, can create a lasting
ripple effect. I walk away from this internship with a heart full of gratitude, a mind
enriched with new perspectives, and a strong desire to continue making a
difference in any way I can.

2.Future Plans:

My internship at Aarohan NGO has had a significant impact on my future aspirations,

both personally and professionally. Before this experience, my career focus was
primarily on Actuarial Science, data analysis, and quantitative problem-solving,
but this internship has broadened my perspective. It has shown me the importance of
education, mentorship, and social responsibility, and I now feel a strong urge to
incorporate these elements into my future plans.

Academically, I plan to continue my education in Actuarial Science but I also want

to explore how these fields can contribute to financial literacy, social welfare, and
economic development. My time at Aarohan made me realize that education—
whether in math, language, or even basic financial knowledge—can empower
individuals to make better life decisions. In the future, I hope to work on initiatives
that promote financial awareness and education, particularly for underprivileged
communities.

On a professional level, this experience has inspired me to seek opportunities where I

can combine my analytical skills with meaningful social impact. Whether
through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, mentorship programs,
or financial inclusion projects, I want to ensure that my work goes beyond just
business success and contributes to the larger good.

Additionally, I now have a stronger desire to continue volunteering in some

capacity, whether by mentoring students, contributing to skill-development programs,
or supporting NGOs like Aarohan. Even as I progress in my career, I want to
remain actively involved in community outreach and education-focused
initiatives.

This internship has also reinforced the importance of lifelong learning and
adaptability. The challenges I faced while teaching, organizing activities, and
handling social media taught me that no matter what profession I pursue, being open
to new experiences, learning from people around me, and continuously upgrading
my skills will be crucial for growth.

In the long run, I see myself contributing to projects that bridge the gap between
education, financial empowerment, and data-driven solutions. Whether in the
corporate world or through independent initiatives, I want to ensure that my
knowledge and expertise are used to make a positive impact.

Overall, my future plans are now shaped by a stronger sense of purpose,

responsibility, and a desire to give back to society. This internship has given me
not just valuable skills and experiences, but also a newfound motivation to
integrate social impact into my professional journey—something I will carry with
me in whatever path I choose.

Background of the Report Provide an introduction to the internship report, the purpose of the
internship.
As a part of our HVCO (Human Values and Community Outreach)
curriculum, I joined Aarohan NGO to assist its members. This was my
first experience working with an NGO, and I felt both excited and a bit
nervous. Teaching elementary school students seems simple until you
actually step into the role yourself.

Aarohan Overview Provide a background of the NGO, main Areas of Work/Focus and
Target Audience and Impact.
Aarohan is dedicated to educating and mentoring elementary and
middle school students, many of whom encounter financial and social
challenges. Beyond academics, the NGO focuses on building their
confidence and motivation.
During my time with Aarohan, I observed that while many students had
aspirations, they often lacked clear guidance on how to pursue them. I
had the privilege of helping them set goals, break them into
manageable steps, and develop self-belief. This experience gave me
deeper insight into their struggles and reinforced the vital role
mentorship plays in shaping young lives.

By providing education, guidance, and emotional support, Aarohan

empowers children from underprivileged backgrounds who face limited
opportunities. The NGO’s role is essential in helping them overcome
obstacles and work toward a better future.

Through confidence-building, discipline, and a sense of purpose,

Aarohan helps these students navigate challenges and chase their
dreams. I hope that my support and encouragement made a meaningful
impact, inspiring them to aim higher. Education extends beyond
academics—it is a tool for empowerment, and I am grateful to have
been part of this journey.

Your Position, and Key Explain the role you held during your internship, list and explain the
Responsibility during objectives set for your internship, and describe the main tasks and
Internship projects you worked on during your internship.
During my internship at Aarohan NGO, I took on the role of an educator,
conducting sessions across different centers, including Greater Noida
and Malviya Nagar. My primary responsibility was to teach and mentor
elementary and middle school students, not only strengthening their
academic skills but also helping them build confidence in
communication and interpersonal interactions.

A key focus of my role was providing academic support in subjects like

Hindi, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Science (EVS). In
language classes, we emphasized fluency and self-assurance,
particularly in English. One of the most rewarding aspects was teaching
students how to introduce themselves—a skill that significantly boosted
their confidence. At first, many were hesitant, especially when speaking
in English, but with consistent encouragement and practice, they
became more engaged and proactive. Seeing their progress and
newfound confidence was truly fulfilling.

To make mathematics more engaging, we used real-life examples to

explain concepts like division. Rather than simply teaching formulas, we
incorporated activities such as distributing toffees among students to
demonstrate practical applications. The joy on their faces when they
grasped a concept through interactive learning made teaching
incredibly gratifying. Activity-based sessions, such as playing musical
chairs, were particularly enjoyable as they not only encouraged
teamwork and coordination but also helped students build self-
confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

At the Malviya Nagar center, I had the opportunity to oversee computer

and tailoring sessions. Watching students work on computers and
witnessing the creativity of young girls designing intricate patterns in
tailoring was truly inspiring. Their enthusiasm and talent exceeded
expectations, and some of their designs were so remarkable that we
documented them as part of our internship report.

Beyond teaching, we also contributed to Aarohan’s social media

presence by creating posts that highlighted the NGO’s impact. This
initiative aimed to raise awareness, attract potential supporters, and
showcase the achievements of the students. It was fulfilling to
contribute in a way that not only directly benefited the students but
also helped Aarohan expand its reach and support network.

By the end of the internship, the students greeted us with bright smiles
and excitement each time we visited. Knowing that we had made a
positive impact, no matter how small, was deeply rewarding. This
experience reinforced the power of education as a tool for
empowerment and left me with lasting memories of the incredible
resilience and potential of these children.

Learning and Skills 1.Highlight the skills you gained during your internship (e.g.,
Acquired communication, teamwork, project management, research, report
writing). 2.Explain any new insights you gained about the NGO sector,
community work, and social change. 3.Reflect on how the internship
contributed to your personal and professional development.

1.Skills Developed: This internship provided a well-rounded skill set,

enhancing both personal and professional growth. Communication
skills improved significantly as I learned to explain concepts clearly to
young students, encourage shy learners to speak up, and create
engaging social media posts to showcase Aarohan’s impact. Through
leadership and mentorship, I developed the ability to guide students
in setting goals, motivate them to participate, and ensure they gained
confidence in their abilities. Teaching required creativity and problem-
solving, as I had to use interactive methods like real-life examples and
activities to make learning more engaging and effective. Teamwork
and collaboration were crucial as I worked closely with fellow interns
and Aarohan staff to plan lessons, organize activities, and support
students in different learning environments. This experience also
strengthened my adaptability and patience, as I learned to adjust
teaching methods based on individual student needs while
understanding the social challenges they faced. The internship
introduced me to digital and technical skills, particularly in assisting
with computer literacy sessions and creating social media content to
increase the NGO’s visibility. Additionally, organizing games and
coordinating activities helped me develop event planning and activity
management skills, ensuring sessions were both educational and
enjoyable. Most importantly, I gained a deeper sense of emotional
intelligence and social awareness, as interacting with these children
gave me a firsthand understanding of their struggles, reinforcing the
importance of empathy and community service. This experience not
only helped me grow as an educator but also instilled a long-lasting
commitment to making a meaningful impact in society.

2.Knowledge Gained: This internship provided me with invaluable

insights into teaching, mentorship, and the challenges faced by
underprivileged children. Working with elementary and middle school
students deepened my understanding of different learning styles,
highlighting the impact of interactive and practical lessons. Teaching
subjects like Hindi, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Science
went beyond academics—it was about building confidence and
encouraging students to think beyond textbooks. Many were initially
hesitant to speak in English, but with consistent practice and
motivation, they gradually became more comfortable.

One of the most unexpected yet memorable experiences was teaching

Hindi. Having left the subject behind years ago, revisiting it felt
nostalgic, transporting me back to my own school days. Explaining
grammar rules, reading passages, and assisting students with writing
exercises brought back memories of my own learning journey.
Stepping into the role of a teacher after once being a student myself
was a unique and fulfilling transition.

Another aspect that stood out was the students' limited awareness of
current events. They had little exposure to the world beyond their
immediate surroundings. To spark their curiosity, we incorporated
simple questions about national and local events into our lessons.
Over time, this encouraged them to ask their own questions and take
an interest in the world around them. Witnessing their growing
engagement and enthusiasm for learning beyond textbooks was
incredibly rewarding.

Spending time with these students also gave me a deeper

understanding of their struggles. Many had aspirations but lacked
guidance on how to achieve them. Helping them set goals and explore
different possibilities was one of the most fulfilling aspects of this
experience. Additionally, I gained insight into the inner workings of an
NGO—how educational programs are managed, the effort behind
skill-based learning initiatives, and the broader impact of such
interventions.

Working on social media posts for Aarohan further expanded my

perspective on the role of digital platforms in raising awareness and
mobilizing support for social causes. Observing students in the
tailoring and computer sessions at the Malviya Nagar center was
equally inspiring. The creativity and dedication of the girls designing
intricate patterns underscored the importance of combining practical
skills with academic education.

This internship was more than just a teaching opportunity—it was a

lesson in empathy, patience, and the transformative power of
education. Seeing the students grow in confidence, engage more
actively, and recognize us with enthusiasm by the end of our time
there was deeply fulfilling. It reinforced my belief that even small
efforts can create meaningful change, and I feel truly grateful to have
been part of their learning journey.

3.Personal/Professional Growth: This internship played a pivotal role

in shaping both my personal and professional growth in ways I hadn’t
anticipated. On a personal level, it deepened my empathy and
awareness of social challenges. Engaging with students from diverse
backgrounds made me more appreciative of my own privileges while
giving me a clearer understanding of the struggles faced by
underprivileged children. Teaching required patience, adaptability,
and creativity, as each student had a unique learning style.
Encouraging shy students to participate and witnessing their
confidence grow was incredibly rewarding, reinforcing the vital role of
mentorship, encouragement, and kindness in a child’s development.

Professionally, this experience strengthened my communication,

leadership, and teamwork skills. Teaching in a classroom setting
improved my ability to articulate ideas effectively, while planning
lessons and coordinating activities with fellow volunteers highlighted
the importance of collaboration. Additionally, working on Aarohan’s
social media presence gave me hands-on experience in digital
engagement, an essential tool for nonprofit outreach today. Engaging
in conversations with students about their aspirations also helped me
develop mentorship and career guidance skills, which are valuable in
any professional setting.

A particularly inspiring aspect of my internship was interacting with

Mr. Suraj, a dedicated member of the NGO. His unwavering
commitment to education and community service was truly
motivating. He guided us throughout our journey, offering valuable
insights into Aarohan’s initiatives and demonstrating how persistence
and positivity can help address social challenges.

Overall, this experience pushed me beyond my comfort zone,

enhanced my problem-solving skills, and instilled a stronger sense of
social responsibility. It not only contributed to my personal
development but also equipped me with skills that will benefit my
academic and professional endeavors. Most importantly, it reinforced
my belief in the transformative power of education, and I feel
privileged to have played even a small role in making a difference.

Challenges Faced During Internship How did you overcome the challenges
During my internship at Aarohan NGO, I encountered several challenges
that pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. One of the
biggest hurdles was adapting my teaching approach to suit students
with different learning abilities and confidence levels. While some were
eager to participate, others were more hesitant, especially when it
came to speaking in English. Building their confidence required
patience, encouragement, and creative teaching strategies. By
incorporating real-life examples, interactive activities, and storytelling,
I was able to make lessons more engaging, gradually helping even the
shyest students become more involved.

Maintaining students’ focus and discipline was another challenge. Their

youthful energy often made it difficult to hold their attention for long
periods. I soon realized that incorporating group discussions,
educational games, and hands-on activities not only made learning
more enjoyable but also helped improve their teamwork,
communication, and confidence.

On a personal level, one of my biggest challenges was revisiting subjects

I hadn’t studied in years, particularly Hindi. Since I had stopped studying
it long ago, teaching it initially felt unfamiliar. However, as I assisted
students with grammar and reading, I found myself reminiscing about
my own school days, which turned the experience into a nostalgic and
enjoyable journey.

Another eye-opening realization was that many students had little

awareness of current events beyond their immediate surroundings. To
address this, we began incorporating simple discussions on recent news
and general knowledge during lessons. Over time, this sparked their
curiosity, and they started asking us questions in return. Seeing them
take an interest in the world beyond their classrooms was incredibly
rewarding.

Balancing multiple responsibilities—teaching, organizing activities, and

managing social media content for Aarohan—was also a demanding
task. Effective time management became crucial, and I learned how to
prioritize tasks efficiently, ensuring that I could contribute meaningfully
in all areas without feeling overwhelmed.

Throughout this journey, I was fortunate to have the guidance of Mr.

Suraj, whose support and insights made a significant difference. His
encouragement helped me navigate challenges with confidence and
make the most of my internship experience.

Despite these difficulties, every challenge became a valuable learning

opportunity. I developed patience, adaptability, and problem-solving
skills that will serve me well beyond this experience. By the end of the
internship, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing that even my small
contributions had made a positive impact on the students.

Your Contributions to the NGO Outline the specific ways your work contributed to the
organization, whether through projects, tasks completed,
or providing valuable support to staff.

During my internship at Aarohan NGO, I had the opportunity to

contribute in various ways, both inside and outside the classroom. My
primary role involved teaching elementary and middle school students
across different centers, including Greater Noida and Malviya Nagar. I
assisted them in subjects such as Hindi, English, Mathematics, and
Environmental Science (EVS), making lessons more engaging through
real-life examples, storytelling, and interactive activities. One of my
most impactful contributions was helping students build confidence in
English communication. By teaching them how to introduce themselves
and encouraging regular speaking practice, I witnessed a remarkable
transformation—students who were initially hesitant became
noticeably more comfortable expressing themselves.

Beyond academics, I worked on increasing students' awareness of

current events. Realizing that many had little knowledge of the world
beyond their daily lives, I incorporated simple general knowledge
discussions between lessons. Over time, this sparked their curiosity and
encouraged them to stay informed about current affairs.

Additionally, I played a role in organizing and overseeing extracurricular

activities that focused on teamwork, coordination, and confidence-
building. Activities like musical chairs, storytelling sessions, and group
discussions made learning more enjoyable while improving students'
communication and social skills. At the Malviya Nagar center, I also
supported computer literacy and tailoring sessions, where I was amazed
by the creativity of young girls designing intricate patterns.

Another significant contribution was assisting with Aarohan’s social

media presence. I helped create digital content to raise awareness
about the NGO’s work, showcasing its impact and encouraging more
people to support the cause. This not only benefited the organization
but also gave me valuable insight into the role of digital engagement in
the nonprofit sector.

Overall, my efforts aimed to empower students, enrich their learning

experiences, and support Aarohan’s mission of education and skill
development. Whether through teaching, mentoring, organizing
activities, or digital outreach, I am grateful for the opportunity to have
played a small role in making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Reflection and Conclusion Reflect on the internship experience as a whole, mention
how the internship will influence your future career plans
or academic path, and discuss how the internship will
influence your future career plans or academic path.
1.Overall Experience: My internship at Aarohan NGO was more than
just a requirement to fulfill—it was a deeply transformative
experience that pushed me beyond my comfort zone, exposed me to
new realities, and allowed me to make a meaningful impact on young
minds. From the very first day, I was filled with both excitement and
nervousness, unsure of how well I would connect with the students.
However, as the days passed, I realized that this journey was not just
about teaching them; it was about learning from them—about
resilience, determination, and the power of hope.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this internship was witnessing

the students' growth in confidence. Many initially struggled with
English, hesitant to speak or even introduce themselves. However,
through continuous encouragement, interactive exercises, and
motivation, they gradually became more comfortable expressing
themselves. Seeing their faces light up when they successfully
answered a question or introduced themselves with confidence was
incredibly fulfilling. This experience reinforced my belief that
sometimes, all children need is a little push, a little belief, and
someone to remind them of their capabilities.

Beyond academics, I became aware of a crucial gap in their learning—

the lack of exposure to current events and the world beyond their
daily lives. Many students had little to no knowledge of significant
national or global developments. To address this, we incorporated
general knowledge discussions and Q&A sessions into our classes.
Over time, this simple practice sparked their curiosity, and they began
asking us questions in return. It was a small initiative, but one that I
hope will have a lasting impact by instilling the habit of staying
informed.

Teaching Hindi was another unexpected but memorable part of my

experience. Since I had not studied Hindi in years, revisiting its
grammar and literature felt nostalgic. It reminded me of my own
school days, and in a way, I relived that journey alongside my
students. This experience reinforced the idea that learning is a lifelong
process and that sometimes, teaching can be just as educational as
learning.

However, this internship was not limited to classroom teaching—it

was about holistic development. At the Malviya Nagar center, I had
the opportunity to oversee computer literacy and tailoring sessions,
where I was amazed by the creativity and dedication of the students.
Watching young girls design intricate patterns highlighted the
importance of skill-based learning in empowering individuals beyond
traditional academics. Additionally, I contributed to Aarohan’s social
media outreach, creating content to raise awareness about the
organization’s work. This experience introduced me to the significance
of digital engagement in nonprofit initiatives—an invaluable skill in
today’s interconnected world.

A significant part of my journey was interacting with Mr. Suraj, a

senior member at Aarohan. His unwavering commitment to education
and community development was truly inspiring. He was always
willing to guide us, share insights about the challenges of running an
NGO, and encourage us to think beyond conventional approaches. His
passion reinforced my appreciation for the immense effort that goes
into empowering marginalized communities.

This internship also had a profound impact on my future aspirations.

As a student of Actuarial Science, my academic focus has always been
on numbers, logic, and quantitative problem-solving. However, this
experience broadened my perspective, reminding me that
knowledge—regardless of how technical—should not be confined to
personal or professional growth but should also be used to uplift
others. It has encouraged me to explore how I can integrate social
impact into my career, whether through financial literacy initiatives,
mentorship, or corporate social responsibility programs.

Moreover, this experience significantly strengthened my soft skills—

communication, leadership, adaptability, and teamwork. Teaching
required me to simplify complex topics, work with students at
different learning levels, and create a supportive environment.
Organizing activities and collaborating with fellow volunteers taught
me the importance of coordination, patience, and strategic planning.
These skills will undoubtedly benefit me in my future career,
regardless of the path I choose

In conclusion, my internship at Aarohan was a deeply fulfilling and

eye-opening journey. It not only allowed me to contribute to the lives
of these children but also changed my own perspective on education,
privilege, and social responsibility. The bonds I built, the lessons I
learned, and the impact I was able to make will stay with me for a
lifetime. This experience reinforced my belief that small, sincere
efforts can create lasting ripple effects. I walk away from this
internship with a heart full of gratitude, a mind enriched with new
perspectives, and a strong desire to continue making a difference in
any way I can.

2.Future Plans: My internship at Aarohan NGO has profoundly

influenced my future aspirations, both personally and professionally.
Before this experience, my career focus was primarily on Actuarial
Science, data analysis, and quantitative problem-solving. However,
working with Aarohan broadened my perspective, highlighting the
importance of education, mentorship, and social responsibility. I now
feel a strong urge to integrate these elements into my future plans.

Academically, I remain committed to furthering my education in

Actuarial Science, but this internship has inspired me to explore how
these fields can contribute to financial literacy, social welfare, and
economic development. My time at Aarohan reinforced the idea that
education—whether in mathematics, language, or even basic financial
knowledge—has the power to transform lives. In the future, I hope to
work on initiatives that promote financial awareness and education,
particularly for underprivileged communities, equipping them with
the knowledge to make informed decisions.

On a professional level, this experience has motivated me to seek

opportunities that combine my analytical skills with meaningful social
impact. Whether through corporate social responsibility (CSR)
programs, mentorship initiatives, or financial inclusion projects, I want
my work to extend beyond business success and contribute to societal
well-being.

Additionally, I now have a stronger commitment to volunteering in

some capacity, whether by mentoring students, supporting skill-
development programs, or collaborating with NGOs like Aarohan.
Even as I progress in my career, I want to remain actively engaged in
community outreach and education-driven initiatives.

This internship also reinforced the importance of lifelong learning and

adaptability. The challenges I faced—teaching students with different
learning abilities, organizing activities, and managing social media
content—taught me the value of staying open to new experiences,
learning from those around me, and continuously upgrading my skill
set.

In the long run, I see myself contributing to projects that bridge the
gap between education, financial empowerment, and data-driven
solutions. Whether within the corporate world or through
independent initiatives, I want to ensure that my knowledge and
expertise create a positive impact.

Overall, this experience has shaped my future plans with a deeper

sense of purpose, responsibility, and commitment to giving back to
society. Aarohan has not only equipped me with valuable skills but
also ignited a lifelong motivation to integrate social impact into my
professional journey—something I will carry forward in whatever path
I choose.
