It’s the largest shipping center in Georgia providing many jobs so

people move there.

They expanded their port increasing international trade

4. What was the Sibley Commission and what did it decide?


John Sibley met with Georgians and decided if they wanted to close
schools or integrate them. A majority chose to close schools.
5. How does Georgia benefit from having large companies headquartered
here?

Revenue from taxes and provides many jobs.

6. Define Entrepreneur.

A person who takes a risk to open their own business in order to make

a profit

7. Why did Georgia change its flag in 1956?

They were upset about the decision in Brown v Board of Education

so they changed the flag to include the confederate battle flag.

They helped the economy grow and improved infrastructure (streets and

New technology made it easier for people to farm and they didn’t need as
many

people to work the farms. People had to move to the cities for jobs

league sports teams to Atlanta.
Jackson: international terminal at the airport, provided more work to

helped bring the Olympics to GA, was Ambassador of the UN
