V. Installation
5.1 Installation Tips
Before installation and operation, please check the appearance of the
cable for damage, and spread the cable.
1. Input sensors should be used to avoid water flow caused by the sensor hit
the wall or other facilities, if the water flow rate is too fast need to fix the sensor.
2. The measurement of the front should not be any shade, such as
fluorescence sensors should be avoided light.
3. The installation of the sensor should not exceed the depth of water from the
level of 2 meters, and according to the fluctuation of water flow, the installation
position should not be less than 30 cm deep. (According to the measured
water body can be adjusted)
4. The sensor should be installed in the position of no bubble generation, in
order to prevent air bubbles on the sensor's measurement data.
5.The sensor should not be used to lift the sensor's own cable, the installation
of cable protection devices to prevent excessive taut tension between the
cable and the sensor, resulting in cable breakage.
6. The sensor should not be installed measuring surface facing up, can be
installed vertically down or horizontal installation.
7. Such as the use of this product in the pilot tank, please consult the
company's sales staff to confirm the installation of specific requirements.

5.2 Customer Installation Cases
VI. Maintenance of Sensor
6.1 Maintenance Schedule
It is recommended to periodically calibrate or clean the sensor surface
according to the actual application scenario. The calibration sequence for the
three-point calibration is that the first point calibration is at pH 4.0, the second
point calibration is at pH 6.86, and the third point calibration is at pH 9.18 in a
buffer solution. Refer to the MODBUS document for specific calibration
methods.
Maintenance tasks Recommended maintenance frequency
Calibrate the sensor (if required According to the maintenance schedule required by
by the competent authority) the
competent authority
6.2 Maintenance Method
1. Regular Cleaning: Clean the sensor regularly to remove the dirt and
impurities attached to the sensor surface. When cleaning, use a mild detergent
and a soft cloth to wipe, avoid the use of harsh chemicals or hard tools.
2. Avoid drying: When the sensor is not used for a long time, the sensor
should be stored in a moist environment to avoid drying the sensor leading to
performance degradation.
3. Regular inspection: regularly check the performance and accuracy of the
sensor, such as abnormalities found, should be dealt with in a timely manner or
replace the sensor.
4. Avoid strong impact: violent impact may lead to sensor electrode head
cracking damage.
4
Xi’an Desun Uniwill Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.
5. Avoid chemical corrosion: some strong acid, alkali or other corrosive
substances may cause damage to the sensor, so the use of the sensor should
be avoided when in contact with these substances.
6. pH sensor electrode head activation
pH electrode activation principle refers to the specific methods and conditions
to make the surface of pH electrode.
The activation principle of pH electrode is to make the surface of pH electrode
form an effective electrochemical reaction through specific methods and
conditions to improve its response speed and sensitivity. The activation
principle of activation mainly includes the following aspects:
Scrubbing method
Scrubbing method is a simple and effective method for PH electrode activation.
The key to this method is to use the appropriate solution and scrubbing tool to
clean the electrode surface. Commonly used cleaning solutions include
sodium hydroxide, acetic acid, ammonia, formaldehyde and so on. The use of
chemical reagents requires special attention to safe handling to avoid
dangerous reactions.
Immersion cleaning method
When first used, it is recommended to soak the electrode in distilled water
for 12~24 hours.
If there is inorganic contamination on the electrode surface, the electrode
can be immersed in 0.1 mol/L dilute hydrochloric acid for 30 minutes,
followed by cleaning with pure water.
Precautions
The probe contains sensitive electronic components. Ensure that the
probe is not subject to severe mechanical impact. Damage to the sensor due
to impact or manpower will not be covered by the warranty. Water ingress to
the sensor due to replacement of the pH electrode is not covered by the
warranty.

communication between the sensor and the software and that the sensor is
working properly.
3. Before entering calibration, you need to click on the Stop button to stop the
sensor from working on the test. Then click on the three point calibration and
follow the instructions to calibrate.
4. Just follow the prompts to complete the calibration at points 4, 6.86 and
9.18.
During calibration, please stay in each standard solution for as long as
possible to ensure a more perfect calibration.
