Companies who are admitted into the Exploration Circuit of the Startup Garage program will each be
given a Fuel Grant to help get their business up and running. The Fuel Grant amount for companies
entering into the Exploration Circuit in 2022 is $3,000.
Founders, in their application to the Exploration Circuit, will also have the opportunity to apply for a
Refuel Grant! Founders that are approved for the Refuel grant will receive up to an additional $5,000
that could assist with:
Recruiting a new team member
Moving a founder to full-time on the company
Leverage to acquire talent through programs like Mitacs
Purchase materials or infrastructure for prototyping
Implementation of a go-to-market strategy
Trade show or event costs to advance market research, sales, etc
Founders will get the chance to explain why they need a Refuel Grant and how it will help them go
from where they are to the next milestone within their application.
Each company, if admitted to the Exploration Circuit, will receive a $3000 grant. Founders also have
the opportunity to apply for a Refuel Grant, which will give up to an additional $5000.
