ASSIGNMENT-1

Name: Atulya Anand

MIS: 612409003
Batch: B-7

AIM:
To analyse F1 driver performance, historical trends, and factors influencing success,
comparing achievements across eras and nationalities.

OBJECTIVE:
1. Analyze driver performance based on race wins, championships, and podiums.
2. Compare success across decades to identify trends in F1 history.
3. Examine national representation and dominance in F1.
4. Identify key success factors like pole positions, start rates, and consistency.
5. Predict future trends based on historical performance data.

DATA SET:
The data consists of information of 868 Formula 1 drivers with their career and performance
statistics over various seasons. It has categorical information like the names of drivers,
nationalities, and seasons in which they competed, and numerical values like race entries,
starts, pole positions, wins, podiums, fastest laps, and total points. Another important set of
performance rates on a race level for a driver, including win rate, podium rate, and fastest lap
rate, are accompanied with the number of championships won. Decade-based classification
helps to group drivers by the era they competed in, while boolean fields indicate whether a
driver is currently active and if they have ever won a championship. This dataset offers a
comprehensive view of F1 drivers' careers and can be used for analyzing trends, comparing
performances, and identifying the greatest drivers in the sport’s history.

TOOLS USED:
MS Excel: Microsoft Excel goes beyond data visualization through charts, graphs, pivot
tables, and conditional formatting. It provides bar charts, line graphs, sparklines, and
interactive dashboards for trend analysis. Trends, forecasting, Power Query, and Power Pivot
features make sophisticated data simple to analyze, report, and make decisions more
efficiently and insightfully.

Information about different charts

 Bar Chart: A bar chart is a graphic presentation of data in the form of rectangular bars,
with the length or the height of each bar representing the value it is for. The bars are
shown either vertically (column chart) or horizontally (bar chart). It is used frequently
to compare several categories or to monitor changes over time.
 Area Chart: An Area Chart is a graph that shows trends in data over time by coloring
in the area below the line linking data points. It is like a line chart but highlights
volume or scale by shading in the area under the line and is effective in illustrating
cumulative trends.

 Pie Chart: A pie chart is a circular graph divided into slices, where each slice is a
percentage of the total. It is used to display percentage distributions and comparisons
between classes. The overall value of the chart is always 100%, making it a perfect
tool for illustrating relative contributions of various components.

 Line Plot: A line plot or line chart is a form of graph that joins data points with
straight lines. It is typically utilized to illustrate trends, patterns, or differences over
time. Line plots are ideal for visualizing continuous data and determining trends in
variables such as sales, temperature, or stock prices.

 Scatter Plot: A scatter plot is a graphical representation that plots individual data
points as spots on a Cartesian plane. It reveals relationships or correlations between
two variables. Every point signifies a value for each of the two variables, and it aids in
identifying trends, clusters, or outliers in the distribution of data.
Pie Chart

Thepie chart shows the distribution of F1 drivers (Race winners) by nationality, with the
United Kingdom having the largest share, followed by Germany, France, Brazil, and the
United States.

Bar Chart

The bar chart shows the number of F1 World Championships won by drivers from different
nationalities.
Line Chart

This Line Chart shows the total F1 Podiums Over Decades.

Area Chart:

This Area Chart shows the Total F1 Podiums Over Decades. It highlights how podium
finishes have evolved over time.
Scatter Plot:

This scatter plot showing the relationship between Race Entries and Race Wins for F1
drivers.

CONCLUSION:
Data visualization simplifies the complicated information by converting data into explicit and
uncomplicated images. Data visualization enables individuals to identify trends, contrast
figures, and detect patterns in a short time. Including color, tags, and user-friendly features
makes the info even more understandable. Good data visuals make it more easy for people to
make the right decisions based on seeing what works and what does not. It makes
complicated data useful in such a way that it makes it simple, easy to comprehend,
and action-able.
