HR INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

INTRODUCTION: -
Good morning, ma'am. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Nandisha Sharma, and I am 21 years old. I am originally from Una, Himachal
Pradesh. Currently, I am pursuing my MBA with a specialization in Strategic Human Resource
Management from Chandigarh University. Prior to this, I completed my bachelor's degree
from the same university, with a minor in Digital Marketing. My schooling, including my
matriculation and 12th, was completed in my hometown from a convent school know as
Mount Carmel School
I am a friendly and enthusiastic individual who enjoys meeting new people, watching
movies, and cooking in my free time.
In terms of career goals, my short-term goal is to secure an internship opportunity where I
can gain practical experience and apply the knowledge I’ve acquired during my MBA. My
long-term goal is to become an HR manager in a reputed organization and eventually start
my own venture in the HR domain, where I can implement innovative people management
strategies.
As for my strengths, I am a keen learner and highly empathetic, which helps me connect well
with others. One area I am working on improving is my tendency to find it hard to say ‘no,’ as
I always try to be helpful. However, I’m learning to set healthy boundaries and prioritize
tasks effectively.
I REALLY BELIEVE IN TEAMWORK N LEADERSHIP
Once again, thank you for this opportunity

WHY MBA.
1. I chose to do an MBA because I want to build a strong career in the corporate world.
After completing my graduation, I realized that just having a degree was not enough.
I wanted to learn more about how businesses work and how to manage people
effectively.
2. Since I am interested in Human Resources, an MBA with a specialization in Strategic
HR helps me understand how to handle people, build teams, and support company
growth.
3. This course is helping me improve my communication, decision-making, and
leadership skills. I believe that with this MBA, I will be ready to work in a good
company, gain experience, and later start my own HR-related venture
4. Lastly I would say I really got inspired by my cousin sister she is an assistant professor
who recently completed her MBA. Seeing her growth and confidence really
motivated me to follow this path

Strengths and weaknesses

My greatest strengths are that I’m a keen learner, highly empathetic, and very adaptable. I
work well in teams, believe in collaboration, and also take initiative when leadership is
needed. These qualities help me build strong connections and work effectively in diverse
environments.
One of my weaknesses is that I find it difficult to say no, as I always try to be helpful.
However, I’m learning to set healthy boundaries and manage my workload better. Also,
sometimes I tend to focus too much on making my work perfect, which can affect timelines.
But I’m actively working on balancing quality with timely delivery by organizing and
prioritizing tasks more efficiently.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

In the next five years, I see myself working as an HR Manager in a reputed organization
where I can apply the knowledge, skills, and experience I gain through internships and early
career roles. I aim to take on responsibilities related to talent development, employee
engagement, and strategic HR planning. I also hope to continue learning through real-world
challenges, gaining certifications, and mentoring others in the team. Ultimately, I want to
grow into a well-rounded HR professional who contributes meaningfully to both people and
business outcomes.

Why hire you

As I mentioned earlier, I am a keen learner, empathetic, and adaptable. I believe strongly in
teamwork and take initiative when leadership is required. These qualities help me build
strong connections and work effectively in a diverse environment, which is essential for HR
roles.
I am eager to apply the knowledge and skills I’ve gained during my MBA and bring a fresh
perspective to your team. I’m highly motivated to contribute to the company’s goals while
gaining valuable practical experience. I am confident that my attitude and commitment will
make me a valuable intern in your organization.

How u handle stress n pressure

I handle stress and pressure by carefully prioritizing my tasks based on urgency and
importance. I usually make a to-do list or schedule so that I can focus on one task at a time
and avoid feeling overwhelmed. This helps me complete my work within deadlines without
compromising on quality.
When pressure builds up, I try to stay calm and take short breaks to refresh my mind. I also
believe that good communication with my team or supervisor helps manage workload
effectively. I see pressure as an opportunity to challenge myself and grow professionally.

What HR tools or software are you familiar with?

Excel and Google Sheets
These are essential tools for basic HR operations like maintaining employee databases,
creating payroll sheets, and tracking attendance or training schedules. I’ve used them
extensively during case studies and classroom projects.
Power BI (for HR Analytics)
I’ve started learning Power BI to create dashboards and visualize HR data, such as attrition
rates, training effectiveness, and recruitment funnel metrics. I believe data-driven decisions
are key in modern HR.
LinkedIn Recruiter (basic use)
I’ve used LinkedIn extensively for networking, and I’ve explored how recruiters use it to
source and screen candidates based on job requirements.

CONFLICT BETWEEN 2 EMPLOYEES

To handle a conflict between two employees, I would first listen to both sides
empathetically, ensuring I understand their perspectives without any bias. I would then
arrange a meeting to facilitate open and respectful communication, encouraging both
parties to express their concerns calmly. My focus would be on resolving the issue
collaboratively rather than assigning blame. I’d aim to reach a solution that respects both
individuals and helps maintain a positive and healthy work environment. If needed, I would
document the situation and follow up to ensure the conflict doesn’t resurface.

SITUATION WHEN U WORKED AS A TEAM

During my first semester in college, we had a subject called Workplace Psychology. As part of
the coursework, our team of four had to create and present a group presentation on how
the work environment affects employees’ health. I was responsible for designing the
presentation and helping gather relevant content.
Since we were all new, it was a great opportunity to get to know each other. We held small
group sessions, and often used our breaks to discuss the project and collaborate. Everyone
contributed, and our teamwork really paid off — we received a good grade, and even
developed strong friendships through the experience. It taught me the value of
communication, planning, and team bonding in achieving success.

SITUATION WHERE U HD MULTIPLE DEADLINE N HOW U PRIORITIZE UR WORK

During the mid-semester of my first term, I fell sick and unfortunately couldn’t submit my
assignments on time. Once I recovered, I had to complete three assignments and prepare for
a presentation — all within a very short timeframe.
To manage this, I prioritized based on urgency and effort required. I completed two
assignments during university breaks and class gaps to save time. When I got home, I
focused on the remaining assignment first, then took a short break to recharge. After that, I
worked on the presentation, ensuring I was prepared for the next day. I successfully
submitted all the assignments and delivered the presentation confidently. This experience
taught me how to stay calm under pressure, manage time wisely, and remain committed to
deadlines, even in challenging situations."
