2. Perimeter and Area of Simple Geometric Figures

2.1 A triangle has two sides of 10 cm and 13 cm, and the included angle is 60 ∘.
a) Calculate the area of the triangle using trigonometry.
b) Find the length of the third side using the cosine rule and calculate the perimeter.

2.2 A parallelogram has adjacent sides of 18 cm and 12 cm. The angle between them is 45∘.
a) Calculate the area of the parallelogram.
b) Find the length of the longer diagonal using the cosine rule.

2.3 A sector of a circle has a central angle of 150∘ and a radius of 9 cm.
a) Find the exact area of the sector in terms of π.
b) Calculate the total perimeter of the sector (include the arc length and two radii).

2.4 A triangle has a base of 13 cm and an area of 78 cm².


a) Find the perpendicular height.
b) If the triangle is isosceles with the equal sides meeting at the vertex opposite the base, calculate

3. Angle Properties of Polygons

3.1 Find the sum of interior angles of a 12-sided polygon.

3.2 Each exterior angle of a regular polygon is 24∘. How many sides does it have?

3.3 A regular polygon has an interior angle of 156∘. How many sides does it have?

3.4 A polygon has 15 sides. What is the measure of each interior and exterior angle if it is regular?

3.5 A regular polygon has each interior angle equal to five times each exterior angle. Find the number
of sides.

3.6 A regular octagon is inscribed in a circle. Calculate the angle between two adjacent radii drawn to
consecutive vertices and use it to determine the area of the octagon.

3.7 A non-regular convex polygon has 10 sides. Two of its angles are 100∘ and 130∘, and all others are
equal. Find each of the remaining angles.

3.8 A convex polygon has 9 sides. One of its interior angles is 150∘150^\circ150∘, and each of the

4. Construction (Use a Compass and Ruler)

4.1 Construct a triangle ABC with AB=7 cm, AC=6 cm, and ∠BAC=60∘. Measure BC.

4.2 Construct a perpendicular bisector of a line segment 8 cm long. Label the midpoint.

4.3 Construct an angle of 90∘ at point P on a given line.

4.4 Construct a triangle with sides 6 cm, 8 cm, and 10 cm. Use your construction to determine whether
the triangle is right-angled.

4.5 Construct triangle ABC with AB=8 cm, AC=7 cm, and ∠BAC=75∘. Then construct the bisector of
angle ABC and label the point of intersection with AC as D.

4.6 Construct a quadrilateral ABCD such that AB=6 cm, BC=5 cm, CD=4.5 cm, DA=7 cm, and
∠ABC=100∘. Justify why this construction may or may not be unique.
4.7 Construct a triangle XYZ such that XY=6 cm, YZ=5 cm, and angle YXZ=40∘. Then, construct the
height from point Z to line XY.

4.8 Construct a triangle such that the difference of two sides is 3 cm, and one angle is 45∘. Justify the
feasibility and label your construction clearly.

5. Area and Volume of Similar Solids

5.1 Two spheres have radii in the ratio 2:3. Find the ratio of their surface areas and volumes.

5.2 A cube has a surface area of 150 cm². A similar cube has edges twice as long. Find the surface area
and volume of the larger cube.

5.3 A cone has a volume of 120 cm³. A similar cone has height three times that of the first. Find its
volume.

5.4 The surface area of two similar pyramids is in the ratio of 9:25. What is the ratio of their heights?

5.5 Two similar cones have volumes in the ratio 8:27. If the height of the smaller cone is 12 cm, find the
height and surface area of the larger cone.

5.6 A cylindrical water tank of radius 5 m and height 12 m is similar to a model tank of height 4 m.
Calculate the surface area and volume of the model tank.

5.7 The surface area of a solid cube is 486 𝑐𝑚2. Find the volume of a cube whose surface area is four
times larger.

5.8 Two similar spheres differ in radius by 5 cm. The smaller has volume 1130 𝑐𝑚3. Estimate the radius
of each sphere and verify the volume of the larger sphere.

6. Geometrical Properties of Circles (including Alternate Segment Theorem)

6.1 In a circle, a chord AB subtends an angle of 70∘ at the circumference. Find the angle at the center.

6.2 A tangent to a circle at point T makes an angle of 42∘ with chord TP. Find the angle in the alternate
segment.

6.3 In a circle, triangle ABC is inscribed such that AB is a diameter. Prove ∠ACB=90∘.

6.4 In a circle, chord AB is extended to point T such that AT is a tangent. If ∠TAB=38∘, find ∠ACB, where
C lies on the arc opposite AB.

6.5 In a circle with center O, chord AB is extended to point T, forming a tangent AT. If ∠TBA=40∘, find
∠BAT and ∠AOB using circle theorems.

6.6 In a cyclic quadrilateral ABCD, AB is a diameter. Given that ∠BCD=35∘, find ∠CAD and justify your
answer with a theorem.

6.7 Triangle XYZ is inscribed in a circle with center O, and tangent TP touches the circle at X. If
∠XYP=55∘, find ∠XPY using the alternate segment theorem.
