Making Sacrifice for Success

Gen 17:1-2 Genesis 17:

1
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and
said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
2
And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee
exceedingly.

British bicycle Race

There was once a time when the British were so
terrible at bicycle racing that manufacturers tried their
best to avoid their brands being ridden by the British
team. The last medal won by Britain was won in 1920
until the last 10 years when two coaches, Peter Keen and Dave
Brailsford British decided to take the pains to make
several small changes resulting in one great showing in the
Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992, when Chris Boardman won the gold
medal in the individual pursuit, and recorded Britain's first cycling gold
since 1920. That created massive short-term hype, but nothing concrete
for five years, until Boardman's trainer Peter Keen sat down and wrote a
long-term plan for the sport in order to attract funding from the National
Lottery: Boardman's gold, and the bronze he won in Atlanta, indicated
that British cyclists could compete on the international stage if well
resourced. Although by then the sport was in crisis, the governing body
had been riven with dissent and members had deserted in droves. Major
sponsors had disappeared and while Boardman had won a time trial in
the Tour de France, he was the only Briton in the race.

If you want to climb out of relegation you must work on the following:-

1) Take stock – when Abraham was

2) Covenant between me and thee

3) Your Mind
As long as a person views him/herself as a loser, that person will never
win.

Pro_23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:

Peter Keen and Dave Brailsford realised that Britain would begin to
improve in the bicycle race only if they could get the attitude of losing to
change.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed

by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

In order to begin to win the mind must be renewed.

To convince your mind that you can, try and target making
breakthroughs first in the areas that you are fairly good at. These early
wins will ginger you to actually rise.

2) Time
Eph 5:15-16 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as
wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Managing your time is of the greatest essence. Plan to spend at least an hour
a day to practice that which you intend to excel in.

The lost time can be restored

Joel 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten,
the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great
army which I sent among you.

3) Stability/Commitment To Goals
Remove all things that divert or destabilize you.

James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor
hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth

3) Investment In Self
Genesis 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same
year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

Prov 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with
all thy getting get understanding.

4) Investment In God
John 15:16

5) Immediate Desires
Prov 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is
deceived thereby is not wise.

Ex 17:3 And the people thirsted there for water; and the people
murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast
brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle
with thirst?

5)Personal life
Matt 11: 17-18 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not
danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented. For
John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

6)Sleep
Prov 2433-34 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the
hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and
thy want as an armed man.
7) Health
Matthew 4:

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of
the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was
afterward an hungred.

8) Sanity
1 Co0r 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God
dwelleth in you?
17
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of
God is holy, which temple ye are.

9) Quiet Times
Matt 14” 22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to
go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23
And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to
pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
