1. What are the variables in your study?

- Independent: career lineage, wherein according to Gozum (2020),

family influence is prominent in Filipino families, most of the time
resulting in them taking the same route of profession.
- Dependent: career decision-making of senior high school graduates,
the transition from high school to college is a period where students
face crucial decision of selecting a career path according to Puson et
al. (2024), wherein senior high school is the borderline between high
school and college.

2. What does career lineage mean?

- (Koçak et al., 2021). Refers to a person's career's historical and
developmental trajectory in the family, which is passed down to the
next generation for disciplinary traditions, profession, and mentoring.

3. Why did you choose senior high school graduates as the participants?
- Puson et al. (2024), The transition from high school to college is a
pivotal period in a student's life, and one of the most crucial decisions
they face is selecting a career path.
- Kulcsár et al. (2020), - career decisions may involve choosing an
occupation and the associated educational training, then a job and
then whether to remain in that job or switch to another one
4. Why did you choose phenomenological study
- The researchers seek to understand the different experiences of
senior high school graduates in terms of career decision-making
- (Dovetail Editorial Team, 2023). Phenomenological sought to
explain the nature of things through the way people experienced
them

5. What are your criteria in selecting your participants?

- Since the study uses a purposive sampling method, the researchers
will use the following criteria in selecting the participants for the
study: 1) Participants must have a job occupation in any field, 2)
Graduated from SRSTHS, LSHS, BIHS, SIHS, and DJIHS, 3)
Participant's parents have a job occupation in any field, 4) Must
voluntarily answer the pre-survey and sign the waiver of participation.

6. How will you ensure validity and reliability of your findings?
- Under the data gathering procedure, after the interview, the
researchers will meet the participants again for them to review their
responses to further guarantee the validity and accuracy of their
answers
7. What are the limitations of your study?
 - The limitations of the study is limited to senior graduates and
working professionals, as this primarily considers students from a specific
educational institution or region, rather than having in an
national/international scale. This does not explore the career guidance
programs, peer influence, and economic constraints.

8. What problems are you solving with this research?

whether following or rejecting career lineage significantly affects the
graduates’ perspective and career decision-making skills and classify
whether this provides a positive or negative result.
9. What motivates you to conduct this study?

selection and decision-making, as it is a common practice among
Filipino families to continue a single career path across generations
this prevailing tradition is also known as career lineage as defined by
Smith (2020)
10. What instrumentation will you use in this study?
- The researchers will use pre-survey to determine the participants for
the study and online interview as instrumentation for the study,
wherein the researchers will use semi-structured interview

11. SOP #2
- Familial informational support and familial financial support were
associated with career choice implementation in undergraduate
students (Kim et al., 2016), meaning that it is possible that students
can be greatly affected in terms of financial support when they
disagree with the career path that their parents want for them. But
according to Talimadao 2020, they instill practicality, fulfillment, and
the sense of leaving a legacy when followed.

12. Why will you use a pre-survey?

- The researchers used 2 types of instrumentation tools, first is
purposive wherein the researchers purposely selected a participant
that meets their criteria, then that participant will then distribute the
pre-survey form to their peers, and will then be reviewed by the
researchers to determine whose qualified to be part of the study.

Data gathering script:

For data gathering procedure, it follow four integral phases:
Phase 1: The researchers will use purposive and snowball non-random sampling,
wherein purposive sampling is used to select those participants who meet the
researches’ objectives, followed by snowball sampling which involves using a
pre-survey form distributed to their peers.

Phase 2: Followed by securing consent from the participants in line with the data
privacy act of 2012 ( Republic act 10173)

Phase 3: An online interview will be conducted to gather information needed, that

follows a semi-structured interview format wherein the sets of questions are the same
but cannot be answered by a simple yes or no.

Phase 4: the researchers will meet them again after the interview for the participants
to review their responses to further guarantee the validity and accuracy of their
answers.
