BASIC TAB
You can customize this section with features you will use often from other tabs. Click on Customize for
available listing.
The default for Basic includes:
Paper Source:
Select from all drawers including bypass.
Pages per sheet:
Select when printing multiple pages
onto one single sheet of paper with
borders.
Copies:
To print large file sizes efficiently, we
recommend printing only (1) set and
re-printing multiples from
Command Workstation.
2-sided Printing:
Set for duplex printing, such as booklet
ans single page printing.
Stapler Mode:
Performs all stapling functionality.
Set to “Saddle Stitch” for folded booklet.
Sorter Mode:
Set to “Collate Without Shift” for booklet.

JOB INFO TAB
Schedule Printing:
Check this box and set the date and time
you want your job to print.
Print Queue Action:
Select from:
Print (straight printing to device)
Print and Hold (release your job from
Command Workstation
i.e. for previewing or merging files)
Process and Hold (release job from Command
Workstation)
Destination:
Printer Mail Box (release your job from the
device)
Secured Print (release your job from the device)
Form Store (used for template printing)
File Name (for Mail Box / Form Store):
Specify the name of a mailbox document for easy
identification at the imagePRESS.
Select Mailbox:
Select a mailbox that was prior set up at the
imagePRESS. Enables the long-term storage
of frequently used documents on the device.
Department ID - Department Password:
Enter your info here if Job Accounting is desired and you are
tracking activity, specifically for color printing.
Do Not Use Job Accounting for B&W Printing:
Check this box if B&W documents are not tracked.
Secured Password:
Enter a numeric code to enable Secured Printing.
At the device select System Monitor to release your
print job.
Notes:
Entering information in this field will populate the Job Log Notes field in Command Workstation.
Can be exported to Excel for Accounting purposes.
Instructions: This field will populate the Job Log Instructions field in Command Workstation.
Control Bar: Only available with the optional Graphic Arts Package. Prints a color key on your job.
Post Flight: Only available with the optional Graphic Arts Package.
Progressives: Only available with the optional Graphic Arts Package.

MEDIA TAB
Paper Catalog:
Only available with paper size selected Provides
access to the paper customizations made in
Command Workstation.
Paper Size:
Specify the size for the print job.
Media Type:
Specify the actual paper the job needs to print
on. It is not recommended to leave this
selection on “Any Media Type” due to the
varying color density for each media type.
Paper Source:
Specify the paper drawer for the job.
Tray Alignment:
Specify to enable Tray Alignment.
Select Tab Position:
The average shift based on average margins for
tabs is 194. (Please see extendent guide.)
Mixed Media:
Specify page locations for tabs or chapters
consisting of special papers from specific drawers.
Front Cover Mode / Back Cover Mode:
Select to print Front Cover/ at the beginning of a
job or Back Cover at the end of a job.
Front Cover Source/ Back Cover Source:
Specify the paper drawer to pull from.
LAYOUT TAB
Scale:
Enter ratios between 25-400 %. Scale to fit.
(Sheet and imageale area)
Orientation:
Choose Landscape or Portrait printing.
Mirror:
Check when printing on transfer paper.
Rotate 180:
Specify to rotate pages of print job 180 degrees.
Pages per sheet:
Select when printing multiple pages onto one
single sheet of paper with borders.
Gangup:
Allow for cut & stack and step & repeat.
Booklet:
Launch booklet wizard to create custom and standard size booklets.

COLOR TAB
Color:
Choose Expert Settings to override defaults
set in Command Workstation.
Composite Overprint:
Overprints objects specified in the source PS
or PDF file. Overprinting commands
specified in source applications will take place
when output is composite and consistent with
the separations output.
Substitute Color:
Enables Substitute Color Values defined in
“Spot-On” in Command Workstation.
Combine Separations:
When printing separations from desktop
publishing applications select to print combined on a single page.
Two-Color Print Mapping:
Specify if you want to replace spot colors with generic colors when you are creating a print job.
Only available with the optional Graphic Arts Package.
Auto Trapping:
Select when automatically reducing white gaps for text and graphics.

IMAGE TAB
Resolution: Choose from 600 or 1200 dpi.
Brightness:
Choose between 95 % - 115 % to
significantly lighten or darken a document.
Advanced Smoothing:
Choose between needing to smooth edges
of curved line art and ornamental characters.
Gradation Smoothing:
Pull your Command Workstation Calibration
Settings across with Off, Fine, Course
selections.
Text Width Adjustment:
Fattens thin lines.
Printer’s Halftone:
Specify a halftone screening method. Borders
between text, graphics and images may be
reproduced on printed pages, even though they
are barely visible on monitors. If this happens,
select Gradation Resolution or Error Diffusion.
Image Smoothing:
Turn on when printing low resolution files to enhance image quality, minimizing grainy output.
Toner reduction mode:
Specify Normal, Priortize gradation or resolution.
Sharpness:
Change the sharpness setting to alter the
results of a print. Soft reduces image clarity;
sharper increase clarity.
Toner Saving:
Not suggested to turn on, unless color starts
blasting. Will drastically reduce amount of
toner laid on page.
Image Compression Optimization:
Select Print or Speed Priority for image processing.
Image Enhance:
Apply color settings from Image Enhance Visual Editor to certain pages.

FINISHING TAB
Gutter:
Adjust gutter options.
Mixed paper sizes:
Select paper size options for mixed sizes
Delivery Options:
Select offset options, sorter mode, paper
output, output delivery, Stacker Ejection and
Number of copies for stack tray.
Image Shift: Hole Punch:
Shifts the image horizontally in paper
Travel direction to better alignment when
printing two-sided.
Finshing options:
Adjust settings for Perfect Bound books,
Folding Options, Stapler modes, Punch, Pad
Printing, Cover Page option, Crease, eWire
binding,Trim and Special functions for pressing
booklet options.
VDP TAB
Create Master:
Choose a number to assign your (single page)
document to the RIP’s master background file.
Use Master:
Print a variable data print job with a specific
master background.
Print Master:
Choose to verify color quality for specific
master while creating it. Used in
conjunction with “Create Master”.
Enable Enhanced Freeform:
Choose where varible data information will
lay.
Remove White PPT Background:
Select when printing PowerPoint files in
conjunction with FreeForm.
File Search Path:
Some PPML and Creo VPS jobs do not
contain all of the variable data job resources
in a single file. In case like these, on a job per
job basis, specify the location of the variable
data job external resources so the
imagePRESS can access them.

STAMPING TAB
Copy Starting Number:
Set for page numbering. For booklets page
numbers cannot be omitted on covers.
Copy Set Numbering:
Set to “On” when creating special numbering
sequences for your print job.
Fiery Copy Numbering:
Add a simple copy number watermark over the
pages of a job to provide identification, copy
protection, and automatic consecutive numbering
of pages.
Watermarks:
Choose or create your own watermark to
print on all pages or only on the first page
of your multi-page document.
PRINTER TAB
Update:
Click this button to display current state
of the imagePRESS.
Paper:
Shows paper drawer size and estimates on
drawer fill levels.
Empty paper drawers will display in RED.
Toner:
Shows estimates on toner levels.
