Created awareness among them. we collected the Online fraud affected
people information.

we observed that some of the online fraud affected people were contact their
bank or credit union immediately and they closed hacked account and
opened a new one.

and install only secured apps in their mobiles.

we briefly explained the people about the steps they should follow. Some
people are effected and we suggested precautions to them.

Most of the people were affected by online frauds. Even after recovering
their bank account details and passwords they are suffering with
hackers.some people have financial loss.

Due to cyber crimes people are suffering with financial loss .we advised
students to use social media accounts carefully.

As a member of this community service project I shared most of my

Chapter 2 : OVERVIEW OF THE COMMUNITY

About the Community / Village / Habitation including historical profile of the

community/habitation, community diversity, traditions, ethics and values.
Brief note on Socio-Economic conditions of the Community / Habitation.

To do this community service project we visited local areas in Amalpuram.

Due to Cyber crimes so many people were suffered and some of the families
lost their money and they lost their courage and confidence. I said some
essential points of some motivation from particular speeches.

Some people who are effected by online frauds had bank problems and I
suggested the people to close that hacked account.

Some people have severely effected by hackers so I suggest them to use

secured apps.

From this whole survey on this project I explained them not to worry much
about online frauds.

I also suggest them to follow precautions to avoid cyber crimes. Using

DESCRIBE THE PROBLEMS YOU HAVE IDENTIFIED IN
THE COMMUNITY

The people in the community are illiterate. They do not have any knowledge
about the safety measures and precautions that should be taken.

They do not have the online fraud detection app installed in their mobiles.

They do not know what measures they should follow if they face any problem.
They do not know about digital literacy. They do not know which apps are
secured.

They have minimum knowledge about safety measures that they should perform
if they face any problem regarding cyber crime. They have a lack of knowledge
on how to prevent online frauds.

They have less knowledge about the usage of technology and don’t know how to
secure their bank details , personal details and social security number.

Almost 50% of the people and students are don’t know how to avoid cyber
crimes.

They have many effects it may be financial effect, there is no one to give
suggestion to them. Many people lost their personal data. Some of the people
became depressed due to financial loss.

Short-term and long term action plan for possible solutions from identified and
that could be recommended to the connected authorities for implementation
Short term goal:

We must create awareness in the people about digital literacy and online frauds.
They should aware India is the most populated country due to cyber crimes many
people lost their money and personal information . They should know the
precautions and safety measures to avoid online frauds they should use secured
apps only they should maintain security passwords for their important
applications.

Long term goal:

It is a 4 weeks community service project. I went to Amalapuram

local areas. Online fraud is one of the fraud schemes commited against the
25
business or individual. Indiaforensic offers a certification program in forensic
accounting. India is the most populated country, due to cyber crimes many
people were effected with financial losses. We want India to be economically
developed.

Description of the community awareness program(S) conducted w.r.t

the problem and their outcomes

I along with my group members have conducted some awareness programs with
respect to problems relating to cyber crimes to bring a positive outcome and for
the betterment of the community. The digital literacy awareness programs
conducted by the group are creating awareness among people and students to
protect themselves from online frauds.

The best way to avoid and slow down the online frauds is to be well informed
about the secured apps and junk websites.
Protect yourself and others from cyber crimes by never share your passwords ,
PIN numbers or bank account numbers and do not open suspicious texts, pop-up
windows or click on links or attachments in emails-delete them.

Get your money recover from a scammer, gather any evidence of the scam ,such
as copies of e-mails , bank statements and receipts. When its your turn and
follow guidance cyber security. If you used a credit card or bank transfer, you
may be able to recover some of your losses through your bank or credit card
company.

It is important to check your bank statement carefully against anything you buy
online and check site’s privacy and return policy.

If you used an online payment service, check if you are covered by a fraud
protection scheme on the service website.

THE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT a 4 week service done by our team as

a part of our academics we had done through a lot of intense discussions

thing of our project.
We, as a team, also researched the topic in wikipedia and also from different
newspapers and some magazines as to give the best. The TV report also helped
us a lot.
Then comes the planning, we have planned to make everything in time and found
all the advantageous steps to make our project successful. Then as expected, we
started executing our plans one by with a good response in return. We even
found few people eagerly listening to our guidance.
Coming to our topic selection , we choose to serve the people with the
knowledge of digital literacy, its importance and uses for the future . We
strongly believed that a part for all the other topics this would be helpful for the
people. As the people are unaware of technology due to online frauds they faces
many problems.
We are very much interested to serve the people. This project is the best
opportunity for us. People are very curious about the technology we briefly gave
all details of adverse effect of cyber crimes.

almost using secured apps.

To talk about our interaction with parents, they are very practical. They clearly
listened to every word altered by us and also deployed with a positive motive.

This is how our project was held. The conclusion that there are many changes
needed to take place in our communities. The mindsets of the people must be
changed into supportive and encouraging minds. People should aware of effects
of cyber crimes.

Such service projects must conducted yearly to make sure everyone aware should
aware or like Digital literacy and online frauds.

The government should take necessary actions to create awareness among of

effects of online frauds.

So finally I wish the government would take obligatory measures to provide them
with everything possible like never sharing their passwords, social security
numbers etc…

29
Chapter 6 : RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSION
OF THE MINI PROJECT

RECOMMENDATIONS:

People should know how to utilize social media.

People should ensure leading a secured life.

Everyone should use secured apps.

They should know how to solve their issues with the available resources .

They should know how important to clear unnecessary data.

They should improve their knowledge and use the technology in way its makes
their life better.

CONCLUSION:

As a pair of our project, we have seen a lot of people and students interacted us,
we almost created awareness about digital literacy. We gave precautions and
safety measures to them.

We have recommended that government and higher officials to take action on

hackers who hacked the personal details of people.

Finally we conclude that this mini project has changed community with great
values and knowledge about Digital literacy. We are happy for successfully
completing community service project.

“Thank you everyone for the hard work and diligence in making this
