LAC Session on "Simplified Instruction in Creating an Action Research"
The LAC session on "Simplified Instruction in Creating an Action Research" held on
December 4, 2024, was a meaningful and practical learning experience for the participants.
Facilitated by Monaliza Ducos and Brian Philip Ydel, the session aimed to guide teachers in
understanding the basics of action research in a simple, clear, and manageable way.
Instead of overwhelming technical terms, the facilitators used straightforward
explanations and real classroom scenarios, making the process feel more doable and relevant
to everyday teaching. Teachers learned how to identify classroom issues, create research
questions, plan interventions, and gather useful data to improve their practices.
The session also encouraged collaboration and sharing of ideas, allowing teachers to
reflect on their challenges and begin drafting their own action research topics. It helped
remove the fear often associated with research and replaced it with a sense of purpose and
confidence. Overall, it was an empowering session that highlighted the value of reflective
practice in achieving meaningful improvements in teaching and learning.
