Social Issues and Challenges in Pakistan

 Pakistan is a nation rich in culture and diversity. Its

people come from a multitude of ethnicities and
backgrounds. However, Pakistan also faces a
number of social issues that hinder its development.
This presentation will explore some of the most
pressing challenges faced by Pakistani society today.
By understanding these issues, we can work towards
a brighter future for all Pakistanis.
Poverty

• Widespread Problem: A significant portion of the

Pakistani population, estimated at over 20%, lives below
the national poverty line.
• Limited Opportunities: Poverty restricts access to
education and healthcare, limiting opportunities for
social mobility and economic advancement.
• Cycle of Deprivation: Without proper education and

significant illiteracy rate, particularly among women and

skills, finding decent employment and improving one's
economic situation becomes much more difficult.

especially for girls. Education is essential for
breaking the cycle of poverty and promoting
development.

education, employment, and inheritance.

traditions can limit women's opportunities and freedom
of movement.

honor killings are serious problems that
disproportionately affect women.

education and opportunities for women is essential for
social and economic development.
