managing welfare programs. Additionally, many private voluntary organizations rely on trained

Social workers in the Philippines are also engaged in education, health care, business, housing,
corrections, and community development programs. The field continues to expand with the
establishment of new development agencies, creating additional opportunities for social work
practice.

Factors influencing a social worker's choice of field include job availability, salary,
employment conditions, career advancement prospects, personal interests, familial
influence, and long-term plans such as marriage or emigration. These factors
shape decisions regarding employment settings and types of services provided.
