IV. PROCEDURES
Let the students recall Aristotle and Galileo concept of motion.
By identifying what motion represents by the picture .
Violent Motion
Natural Motion
A. Reviewing previous lesson or
presenting the new lesson
ELICIT
Free Fall Motion
Projectile Motion
Freeze Dance
The teacher will play a music and facilitate
B. Establishing a purpose for *every time the music plays you dance but when the music stops
the lesson you also stop
ENGAGE
What have you observed in the activity you have done?
Objective 1: interdisciplinary with P.E Modern Dance
C. Presenting To help students differentiate between Galileo’s assertion and
examples/instances of the Newton’s First Law of Motion through simple observations and
new lesson
guided questioning.
EXPLORE
What are the three Law’s of Motion?
Law of inertia
Law of Mass and Acceleration
Law of Action and Reaction
But for today’s discussion, we will focus on Newton’s First Law
of Motion – The Law of Inertia.
It States that an object at rest stays at rest, and an object in
motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same
direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced external force
Let the student do the Coin Drop Activity
* This explains the law of Inertia. The moment you pulled the
card quickly the coin falls into the glass due to the inertia of
rest. The coin has inertia, meaning it really wants to stay in one
place.
But if you pull the card slowly, it isn’t fast enough to overcome
that force, that is why it still remains at rest at its position. By
pulling it slowly it will generate a greater force enough
Did you know class that before Isaac Newton came up with his
laws of motion, a lot of scientists laid the foundation for the
study of force and motion? One of these scientists was Galileo
Galilei.
Who is Galileo and what is his assertion in motion?
His assertion was the inspiration for Newton’s st law of motion.
They both implied that no force is needed to keep the motion
of an object and the object’s inertia would keep it from
changing its state of motion.
So, is there a difference between Galileo’s assertion and
Newton’s First law of motion?
Objective 1: Apply knowledge of content within teaching areas Values Education
Objective 3: The students with mobile phones may use the dowloaded copy of handouts.
Objective 4: Use a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner achievement in literacy and numeracy skills.
Objective 5: Use effective verbal and non-verbal classroom communication strategies to support learner understanding,
participation, engagement and achievement. (Group Activity)
Objective 6: Maintain supportive learning environments that nurture and inspire learners to participate, cooperate and
collaborate in continued learning.(Group Activity)
Objective 7: Apply a range of successful strategies that maintain learning environments that motivate learners to work
productively by assuming responsibility for their own learning.
Objective 9: Give handouts to the selected students who are in need.
D. Developing Mastery
(Leads to Formative
Assessment 3)
EXPLAIN
E. Finding practical applications Let the students answer and apply the science concept learned:
of concepts and skills in daily
living Objective 1: Apply knowledge of content across curriculum teaching areas -Values Education
ELABORATE
Let the learners summarized the lesson by answering the
questions:
F. Making generalizations and
1. Who is the two well-known person we discussed today?
abstractions about the lesson
2. Newton’s first law of motion state that?
G. Evaluating Learning Let the students answer assessment provided:
EVALUATE Multiple Choice: Choose the letter of the correct answer (5-Item)
Objective 3: The students will use their mobile phones to answer the digital evaluation.
