ON SINGLE USE-PLASTICS
Dear Parents,
In preparation for our upcoming Environment Week, we have organized a
selection of engaging activities for our learners to participate in over the
weekend. These include educational videos and hands-on tasks, aimed at
promoting environmental awareness in a fun and accessible way.
We encourage you to support your child in watching the materials and
completing the activities provided through the shared links.

From the videos above, choose one option from the list given and do one
follow up activity with these guiding questions;
a) Why do people use so many plastic things every day?
b) What bad things can happen to animals, plants, or people when plastic is
thrown on the environment?
c) If you were in charge of your school or community, what ideas would you
come up with to help stop plastic pollution?

1. Prepare an oral presentation or record a short video/audio responding
to the questions above.
2. Create a small folded booklet or a set of illustrated notes (It can be done
on a one-page folded paper or in a notebook) per question.
3. Write a plan of how you, as an individual, will help reduce plastic
pollution in your home or community.
4. Write a letter to a local government leader, shop owner, or school
principal, explaining the problem of plastic pollution and suggesting
actions.
5. Write a reflective journal of what you have learned from the video. You
may use phrases like;
a. Today I have learned……………………………………………….
b. What shocked me was………………………………………………
c. I think I can help…………………………………………………….
B. Design a poster that illustrates:
• The ways plastic contaminates our environment
• How human actions contribute to worsening this problem
• Strategies we can adopt to reduce plastic use, promote reuse, and
maintain a clean and healthy environment
