World Environment Day 2025.

2024 theme:
theme "Ending Plastic Pollution."
World Environment Day 2025:
Let's End Plastic Pollution!
(Start with enthusiasm, maybe
some fun sound effects or a
bright visual like a globe or a
happy ocean scene if possible.)
"Hi everyone! Good
morning/afternoon! Guess what
special day is coming up on June
5th? It's World Environment Day!
It's a day when people all around
the world think about our
amazing Earth and how we can
best take care of it."
(Pause for a moment, encourage
interaction)
"Now, this year, World
Environment Day has a super
important message for all of us,
especially you! It's all about
ending plastic pollution. Can
everyone say that with me?
'Ending Plastic Pollution!'
Great!"
(Hold up a small plastic item like
a bottle or a wrapper, then
perhaps a picture of a clean
beach or a healthy animal.)
"So, what is plastic pollution?
Well, plastic is all around us,
right? We use plastic bottles,
plastic bags, plastic wrappers for
our snacks, and even plastic
toys. Plastic can be really useful!
But sometimes, when we don't
put our plastic in the right place,
it ends up where it shouldn't be.
It ends up polluting our beautiful
world."
(Show a picture of a littered area
or an animal caught in plastic –
choose a less graphic image for
younger kids, more realistic for
older ones.)
"Imagine our beautiful beaches
covered in plastic bags, or our
oceans filled with plastic bottles.
Imagine birds and fish getting
tangled in plastic, or even
thinking plastic is food! That's
plastic
pollution, and it's not good for our
planet or the animals that live
here."
"But here's the good news: YOU
can be a superhero for our
planet! Even small actions can
make a HUGE difference!"
(Introduce the "3 Rs" – use hand
gestures for each.)
"We can remember three special
words that start with the letter 'R':
* Reduce! This means trying to
use less plastic. Can you use a
reusable water bottle instead of
buying a new plastic one every
time? Can you bring a reusable
bag to the shop instead of taking
a plastic one?
* Reuse! This means finding
new ways to use plastic things
you already have. Maybe an old
plastic container can become a
pencil holder! Or a plastic bottle
can become a fun craft project!
* Recycle! This is super
important! When
you're finished with a plastic
item, make sure it goes into the
recycling bin, not the regular bin!
Recycling turns old plastic into
new things, so it doesn't end up
polluting our Earth."
(Emphasize the impact of their
actions.)
"Every time you choose to
reduce, reuse, or recycle, you
are helping to keep our Earth
clean and healthy for all the
animals and for us too! You are
helping to end plastic pollution!"
"So, this World Environment Day,
and every day after, let's all
promise to be champions for our
planet. Let's remember to
reduce, reuse, and recycle our
plastic. Because when we work
together, we can make a giant
difference and keep our Earth
amazing!"
"Thank you! Now, who's ready to
be a plastic pollution superhero?"
(End with a positive and
empowering
message, maybe a cheer or a
high-five gesture.)
