The Eiffel Tower And The Tower
The Eiffel Tower As you know, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most prominent aspects and statues
in France. This tall piece of beauty was built on March 31, 1889. It s made of more than 18,000
iron pieces. The man who designed it was Alexandre Gustave Eiffel and when it was first built his
daughter climbed it and discovered there are 1,710 steps. Alexandre led the team that developed the
plans and also designed the metal framework of another landmark the statue of liberty. Paris, France,
where the tower is located and it brings a lot of tourists, thus causing a lot of foot traffic. When
many people go to France, their main objective is to see the Eiffel Tower, as well as get a photo
standing by it. The tower is 1063 foot tall cast iron skeleton equipped with elevators that has
spectacular aerial views of Paris. At the present time, The Eiffel Tower was built for the
International Exhibition of Paris of 1889 commemorating the centenary of the French Revolution.
(Corrosion Doctors, Eiffel Tower History). In 1889, an Exposition Universal (World Fair) was
hosted by Paris to mark the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution. More than 100 artists
submitted competing plans for a monument to be built on the Champ de Mars, located in central
Paris, and serve as the exposition s entrance . (History.com, Eiffel Tower). There were many designs
proposed to help the City Officials decide what the tower
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Being A Sole Trader
INTRODUCTION: Changing business ownership can be very challenging. There are factors and
aspects that need to be looked at to make sure you are in a place to do so without spending all
your resources. Especially changing from a sole trader [a type of business entity which is owned
and run by one individual and where there is no legal distinction between the owner and the business
as stated by E conomic, Sole Trader What is a Sole Trader?] to a franchise [a right granted to an
individual or group to market a company s goods or services within a certain territory or location
as stated by About Money What is a Franchise ]. The purpose of this report is to analyze the
Subway franchise, its advantages, disadvantages and advice Johnny on whether he should remain a

As stated before, it is simple and easy to set up. It will help you to expand and earn more profits.
The location of your current business is located in a very strategic area, so I recommend that you
open your subway outlet in the same shop. There is a constant footfall of not only local people but
foreign visitors and tourists who would be familiar with the Subway brand name, thus giving a
push to the sales. However, before you do so, make sure you research the number of Subway outlets
in that area to lower the competition. Subway is one of the most famous brands in the world, so
getting customers and workers will not be a problem. There will be a few limitations, but the
advantages outweigh them. Subway also has a clear way to communicate and contact them; and they
give complete training to anyone interested in owning a

The network rather like a child makes up its own rules that match the data it receives to the result it s
told is correct (42). Impossible to achieve in expert systems, this ability to learn by example is the
characteristic of neural networks that makes them best suited to simulate human behavior. Computer
scientists have exploited this system characteristic to achieve breakthroughs in computer vision,
speech recognition, and optical character recognition. Figure 1 illustrates the knowledge structures of
neural networks as compared to expert systems and standard computer programs. Neural networks
restructure their knowledge base at each step in the learning process. This paper focuses on neural
network technologies which have the potential to increase security for financial transactions. Much
of the technology is currently in the research phase and has yet to produce a commercially available
product, such as visual recognition applications. Other applications are a multimillion dollar industry
and the products are well known, like Sprint Telephone s voice activated telephone calling system. In
the Sprint system the neural network positively recognizes the caller s voice, thereby authorizing
activation of his calling account. The First Steps The study of the brain was once limited to the
study of living tissue. Any attempts at an electronic simulation were brushed aside by the
neurobiologist community as abstract conceptions that bore
Want To College
Have you ever wonder what do you want to be when you grow up? Well, not me I ve never
thought of that because I have no idea what do I want to be. I don t even know what s my
interests are. But one thing is for sure I want to graduate college because I want all of the things
that my parents have to endure, sacrifice they made and perseverance in order us to have a good
life would be all worth it. Life was tough for my parents especially my mom because she have to
wake up early in the morning just to cook us food and go to work just for us to buy the things we
needed that sometimes is not enough for us. Knowing that my parents are undergraduate meaning

My parents taught me a lot of valuable lessons in life that sometimes you really have to make
sacrifices in order to achieve your goals because sacrifices means giving up something in order to
achieve one and with a help of other people too ,because trust me you don t want to go through all
that challenges alone like my parents they have to sacrifices being apart from each other because
they know that it s only one time opportunity to make our life better. So, I know this college for
all trip will help me on what s the student s and their parents sacrifices in order to get into that
level. Also it would help me to what to expect in college and how different is the college life. Life
was full of sacrifices, sometimes sacrifices gives you an opportunity but sometimes people are
afraid of sacrificing because they thought that sacrifice means to give up, yeah so when you
sacrifice something make it all worth it. So by reaching my goal it would help me expose to a
world where I have to get out of my comfort zone and make sacrifices for good. Also to make my
family proud knowing that they didn t finish college and helping them and be able to support myself

Diplomacy Is Diplomacy
To what extent has diplomacy failed to adapt to the international system brought by globalization?
Diplomacy which came into play thousands of years ago before they concept of globalization was
conceived have gained much recognition over time in the world today. Diplomacy and Globalization
are all major aspects in the study of study of International Relations. The concept of an international
system brought by globalization and fostered through a varrying number of mechanisms in which
diplomacy is a part of has affected and shaped how nations today interact and our present day
communities. Adina Borcan in his book titled Diplomacy and Cosmopolitanism in a Globalized

Roberts (2006), suggested that it has its roots in Greek and was later used by the French
(diplomatie) to refer to the work of a negotiator on behalf of a sovereign. There is a long history of
diplomatic activity going back at least two millennia. Sovereigns sent envoys to other sovereigns for
various reasons: to prevent wars, to cease hostilities, or merely to continue peaceful relations and
further economic exchanges. The first foreign ministry was created in Paris by Cardinal Richelieu in
1626. Other European countries followed the French example. As absolute monarchs gave way to
constitutional monarchies and republics, embassies and legations became more institutionalized all
over Europe, and by the end of the nineteenth century European style diplomacy had been adopted
throughout the world.
The ability to practice diplomacy is one of the defining elements of a state. Diplomacy has been
practiced since the inception of civilization. In Europe, diplomacy begins with the first city states
formed in ancient Greece. Diplomats were sent only for specific negotiations, and would return
immediately after their mission concluded. Diplomats were usually relatives of the ruling family or
of very high rank in order to give them legitimacy when they sought to negotiate with the other

An estimated four million Jews lived in the Roman Empire, but only an estimated 700,000 lived in
Palestine. A larger population of Jews lived in Alexandria and Syria. Gentiles outnumbered Jews in
Decapolis and Galilee (Intertestamental Period New Testament Background, 2001). Languages
spoken in Palestine were Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew and it is likely that Jesus and His disciples
were trilingual. Transportation was mainly conducted on waterways. Other than the Roman roads,

inclusive of the roles played by the female leadership. Christian and secular writers credited women

It was a large building with several colonnaded stories that looked out over the Forum Romanum.
From the Forum you can still clearly see the remains of the lower floor of the Tabularium, now
situated below the Palazzo Senatorio.
The Middle Ages
During the exile of the popes in Avignon Rome became depopulated and the Capitoline Hill was
even used as a goat pasture, which gave it the name Monte Caprino (goat mountain). By the
sixteenth century the Renaissance brought a revival of Rome s grandeur and with it a complete
redesign of its heart, the Capitoline Hill. In 1536 Michelangelo drew up plans for a new square
between the two hilltops, the Piazza del Campidoglio.
The Capitoline Hill Today
Today only traces of the ancient temples are visible. Instead a huge nineteenth century monument
built for Italy s first king dominates the north slope.
Piazza del Campidoglio Piazza del Campidoglio
As impressive as this monument may be, the highlight of the Capitoline Hill however is now
undoubtedly the beautiful Piazza del Campidoglio, masterfully designed by Michelangelo. It can be
reached from the foot of the hill by ascending the majestic Cordonata
Redemption In Les Miserables
The Change From Past To Present True redemption is when guilt leads to good (Khaled Hosseini).
Not one person on earth is completely free from wrongs. Humans have lapses in judgement that
can hurt them and others. Some people believe you can be redeemed and can put your wrongs
behind you, these people are kind and generous. Others believe you have one chance to get it right,
these people are often angry and judgmental. There are also those who believe that someone can t
be redeemed, but begin to realize that people can change. By looking at the Bishop, Javert, and Jean
Valjeanand their actions it becomes clear that Les Miserables is a book about redemption coming
to those who did wrongs in their past and the behaviors of those who believe and don t believe.
The Bishop was only in Les Miserables for a short time but the effect he had on Jean Valjean
carried throughout the entire book. The Bishop believes that people can make lousy decisions
but still be redeemed of them. When Jean Valjean stole the silver the Bishop didn t condemn him,
he gave him the chance to change the path he was going down, . . . God has brought you out of
darkness. I have bought your soul for God (Movie). The Bishop s feelings on redemption made
him a kind generous man, giving Jean Valjean a chance at a new life. Javert is a foil of the
Bishop, he believes people can t be redeemed of their wrongs and is severe as a result. Throughout
much of the book the police inspector, Javert,
John Forbes Nash
John Forbes Nash Jr. was born on June 13, 1928 at Bluefield, West Virginia, USA. He is the eldest
son of an electrical engineer, John Forbes Nash, and a schoolteacher, Margaret Virginia. He has a
younger sibling named Martha Nash who was two years younger than him and was born on
November 16, 1930. As a young boy, Nash was solitary, bookish and introverted. His mother had big
dreams for him so he pushed him to read at 4, learn Latin and skip a grade at school. The first hint of
John Nash s math talent came in fourth grade. John has his own path to solve the simple math
problems. In high school, John solved his teachers clunky proofs in just a few elegant steps. He was
one of ten nationally awarded winners of the George Westinghouse Award,
Engineering Performance-Based Fire Codes
Preliminary views on implementing Engineering Performance Based Fire Codes in Hong Kong:
What should be done? Abstract Engineering performance based fire codes (EPBFC) are to be
developed in Hong Kong. Before implementing EPBFC, or even writing down what should be
done, such as the fire safety objectives, current prescriptive fire codes should be understood. This
will be a very big project to be tackled step by step, certainly not regarded as a normal consultancy
project which can be completed within a short period of, say three years. Key points on suitability
of implementing EPBFC in Hong Kong, or preserving prescriptive codes but with active updating
are discussed. Approaches used overseas are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, before deciding whether to stick to prescriptive codes with active updating or to use
EPBFC, well planned long term investigational works should be carried out. This should also be a
life long research project for upgrading the code to solve new problems encountered. This was
well recognized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). There, EPBFC has been
studied since 1995 with some support of Area of Strategic Development: Construction Industry
Development Studies and Research Centre. A journal [37] reporting the development, problems
encountered, scientific principles, engineering judgements and practical examples was
established. It appears that if EPBFC is applied properly by experts with good training in fire
safety engineering such as those holding PhD degrees, and with practical engineering experience
up to Chartered Engineer status, the following can be achieved as reported in the literature [13
34]: ← Better fire safety provisions than described in the older versions of prescriptive codes for
both passive and active fire safety measures [18]. ← Regulations requiring systems that might not
work in a fire or even give adverse effect can be pointed out and updated. The requirements of
installing sprinkler at high headroom atrium and in escape staircases are obvious examples. This is
similar to imposing the local speed limit of 50 km per hour in downtown areas where almost all
drivers will not pay attention to!
The Great Gatsby Kennedy s Assassination
Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate. Being one of the best
presidents in the history of the United States is a difficult job. But someone has to do it.
Knowing about all the matters going on in the world is stressful. But being the one to make
decisions about the world is even worse. That is what the presidents do. The president that did the
best job that he could was the 35th president. He was assassinated in Dallas on November 22,
1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. It shocked the nation when he died. In his early life, this great
president learned about politics from his dad and brother. During his presidency, he avoided wars
with Cuba and passed laws that inhibited racial discrimination. His assassination shocked the nation
and made an unforgettable legacy that lives to this day.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Themes of Medea

Medea Video Project Analysis
The Medean Hillbillies Euripides Medea is classified an ancient Greek tragedy. However, this story
is much more than a tragedy. The story of Medea is one that definitely grabs the reader s attention
through both its text and its themes. The themes that the story of Medea presents are very practical
and still continue to exist in humanity today. The three largest and most obvious themes that a
reader is most likely to find and relate to while reading Medea are revenge, manipulation and
passion. These three themes are not only apparent in the story of Medea; they are obvious in our
video version, entitled The Medean Hillbillies, as well. Revenge is a common theme that occurs in ...

Medea manipulates the Princess in giving her a precious gift which readers quickly find out is
actually a gift of poison and would kill the Princess. Not only does Medea manipulate the
Princess, King Creon, and her two children but she also manipulates King Aegeus. Medea takes
advantage of Aegeus soft heartedness personality to gain an advantage and support from him
(Borey). In the end, Aegeus sides with Medea and the two leave the city together. Manipulation is
very visible in our hillbilly version of Medea. Medea manipulates her children by tricking them
into going fishing with her. The children are looking forward to an enjoyable fishing trip with
their beloved mother, away from their father. Medea manipulates them at the beginning of the
fishing trip as they discuss the nice weather, and express their feelings of despair towards Jason.
The children are very unaware that Medea will soon be throwing them overboard to drown.
Medea also illustrates her manipulation through the Messenger as she sends what she refers to as
a precious gift to the Princess. This precious gift is actually a death sentence as it is a poisoned
necklace. When the Messenger arrives and gives the necklace to the Princess she is overjoyed.
However, the Princess immediately dies as the Messenger places it upon her neck. Again, Medea
successfully uses manipulation to complete an act of murder. The final scene in our video
