Supply and Demand Simulation
Supply and Demand Simulation Summary

University of Phoenix

ECO360, Economics for Business I

The Supply/Demand simulation involves acting as property manager for GoodLife Management in
the fictional town of Atlantis. GoodLife Management manages seven apartment complexes in
Atlantis. The property manager is expected to adjust the monthly rental rate of two bed rental
apartments and the quantity of apartments supplied based on the market trends. Factors that
influence the supply and demand for apartments include personal preferences, economy, income, and
rental rates. Each of these factors affect the ratio of vacant and occupied apartments. Decisions
regarding supply, demand, and price require careful evaluation. Regular ... Show more content on

The equilibrium rental rate was then higher than before, but the equilibrium quantity was less.
The last situation in the simulation introduced the concept of governmental price controls for
monthly rental rates. Since the price ceiling was lower than the equilibrium price, the quantity
demanded was higher than the quantity supplied. Goodlife could not afford to rent all apartments at
the ceiling price. Other forms of revenue, such as increased key deposits, had to be implemented.
Consequently, there was an excess demand, creating a supply shortage. Goodlife was then able to be
more restrictive when selecting renters, which can affect economic and social aspects of the
community. The imbalance of demand and supply can lead to discrimination in tenants and an
increase in ancillary charges, such as key charges. As illustrated in the simumation, price controls can
have negative consequences on the housing supply.
In conclusion, the simulation confronted the user with a variety of situations that affected the supply
and demand of rental units. The prices and quantity supplied had to be adjusted according to the
factors affecting the supply and demand. The key components from the reading material that were
reinforced in the simulation were supply and demand, shifts in supply and demand, equilibrium, and
price ceilings.

1.What causes the changes in supply and demand in the simulation?

III.RATIONALE OF THE STUDY
Science holds a dominating place in the curriculum. This is so because every sector recognizes an
increasing contribution of the discipline to the progress of the modern world as well as its traditional
standing as an element of humanistic and scientific education. Its importance, as the key subject is
common knowledge. Science has been recognized as a patent means of sharpening our
competitive edge. As mandated in the Philippine Constitution, it is the duty of the schools to
develop scientific and technology efficiency among the pupils and the students. Thus, it becomes
necessary to evolve a strong science programs in all levels. So, the teaching of science should be
effectively earned out so as to satisfy the national development goals. Science is a multifaceted
subject, limitless in extent and depth, vital for science and technology, and rich in the cultural
import. It offers a lot of challenges to an individual. Well known scientist considered it is the key to
success in many of the most powerful and prestigious jobs in our highly technical society. Without
science, it is impossible to get into medicine, engineering, astronomers and most of the mobs
requiring technical expertise. In school, however, pupils find the subject dull and difficult and
dreary by many. More so, science in general is even considered by many as uninteresting or boring
subject if not difficult or not applicable into their daily lives.
Fate Or Free Will Controls Human Lives
Generally, fate refers to the development of events beyond a person s control (Aurobindo). As
such, a fatalist is a person who believes that whatever happens is, and always was, unavoidable.
Moreover, such a person strongly believes that he or she has no control over what happens the next
moment, tomorrow, next year, or several years to come. Free will, on the other hand, is formed by
the power of sanction (Aurobindo). In other words, it is consent by the spirit that it shall not be
bound but that its enjoyment should be bound by time, space, and causality and by the swabhava
and the dharma (Aurobindo). To determine whether fate or free will controls human lives, it is
important to objectively analyse, synthesizes, and respond to the critical conversation that the
authors of class readings seem to be engaging with regard to this subject. In connection to this,
humanity has been fascinated by fate and free will for a long time. Some philosophers in the
Ancient Greek and the Middle Ages believed that free will influenced human destiny while others
believed that fate was responsible for what befell mankind.
The theme of fate conspicuously permeates Homer s famous poem, Ilad, from the first to the last
sentence. The author asserts that death is a natural and unavoidable part of human existence from
the onset by affirming that Akhilleus anger is doomed and ruinous. In this regard, fate but not free
will defines consciousness in the Trojan War. Although everybody
Dreamgirls Dee Jones Analysis
To find yourself is one of life s greatest challenges, the person we are meant to be isn t always
obvious to us. There are several of us still searching for it. For Deena Jones in Dreamgirls, she
was pushed to find a voice she didn t think she had anymore. Deena hardly expressed herself due to
the fear of rejection. This is an explicit meaning of a womanwho thought she knew what she
wanted, but she is faced with the choice of living her dream or finding her voice. Deena had an
impossible choice to make. As a matter of fact, Condon did excellent in showing us how Deena
made her choice and found her voice with the scene of her singing Listen, and I m going to tell you
why. To begin, we start at 1:46:38 where we are looking at a medium close up
Comparing Enuma Elish And Mesopotamian Creation Myth
Nearly every culture has a creation myth to explain the unknown wonders of the world, such as
how the world came to be and how humans came to exist on earth. Creation myths paint a picture
for the confused and answer question for the curious minds of its people. These stories have
influence on its believers and tied into their religionand how they go about their life. There are many
creation mythsthat give credit to different divine beings for creating everything. All of the creation
myths are different in their own way but many of them share signification ideas and themes. The
Mesopotamian myth, Enuma Elish, is similar to the Egyptian creation myths, Creation by Atum and
Theology of Memphis, because of their use of chaotic water and system resemble a family tree,
however, they differ in the creation of men.
The Mesopotamian creation myth, Enuma Elish is similar to the Egyptian creation myths because
their use of the chaotic water in both stories. They both begin their stories mentioning an space and
water. The water clashes together to form and create the first gods. In the Creation by Atum, it states,

The two creation stores both contain similar use of the water and divine beings timeline resembling
a family tree. They differed in the creation of the human beings. The Egyptian creation myth told of
how the humans were descendants of the children of the Ennead, whereas in the Enuma Elish,
humans were created from the blood. These two difference in the creation of men are likely due to
the different areas and different ways the two areas viewed humans. The similarities between
creation myths show similarities between the two areas of people despite their different location. It
shows how much humans are alike and how important a certain idea is to humans as a race and not

optimize water use for agriculture crops. The system has a distributed wireless sensor node network
of soil moisture, temperature sensors and humidity sensor placed in the soil. Energy conservation
is a very critical issue in wireless sensor networks. In this paper a TDMA based MAC protocols
are used to conserve the energy in wireless sensor networks which is used in an irrigation system.
An algorithm is developed with threshold values of moisture level, temperature of the soil and
humidity sensor that are programmed into microcontroller based gateway to control irrigation in a
field. Also two methods based on TDMA scheduling are used. The first one is direct communication
method, in which each node transmitted the data directly to the sink node and other one is data
aggregation method in which nodes are grouped into clusters to save energy.

Optimal Power Flow
Introduction 1.1 BACKGROUND The following reasons make the management of power systems
more difficult than earlier: Due to increased competition existing power systems are required to
provide greater profit or produce the same service at lower costs, thereby increasing the duration of
power systems operating close to security and stability limits. Environment constraints severely
limit the expansion of a transmission network. In a deregulated market there is a need for a new
kind of voltage and power flow control (for which existing power systems are not designed for). The
transmission capacity for all transactions in the open access networks needs to be determined. Fewer
operators are engaged in the supervision and operation of power systems. Although power
generation, transmission and distribution are unbundled there still exist common interests for these
companies: power system adequacy and security. The adequacy of generation and transmission
capacity is maintained in the long term and is related to power system planning. The security of a
power system is related to power system operation. The transmission networks need to be utilized
ever more efficiently. The transfer capacity of an existing transmission network needs to be
increased without major investments but also without compromising the security of the power
system. The more efficient use of transmission network has already led to a situation in which many
power systems are operated more often and longer
