The Meaning Of Harry Potter And The Sorcerer s Stone
I chose Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone, because there is a lot of meaning on the surface of the
film, but there is just as much below the surface. There are so many different things that someone
can pull from Harry Potter because there is so much meaning throughout the entire film. All the
Harry Potter films contain infinite meaning, but Harry Potterand the Sorcerer s Stone has the most
meaning to me. I think it was important to my development as a young person to see this film and
realize all the things that Harry realizes in the film. The film begins with Harry as a infant, being
dropped off at the doorstep of his aunt and uncle s house. In the beginning of the film, it shows how
cruel and uncaring his Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and Dudley are. After dodging many letters
from a place called Hogwarts, the family goes to a sketchy rock house in hope of not being found.
However, a large man named Hagrid breaks down the door of the rock house right after Harry s
wristwatch hits midnight. After Hagrid argues with Uncle Vernon, Hagrid tells Harry happy
birthday and that he is a wizard. Later in the film, Harry goes to a school of witchcraft and
wizardry, and makes an enemy day one, but also a friend. Through the film, Harry makes many
friends, joins the Quidditch team, and learns about himself and his history. Harry was living the
perfect life he never could have dreamt of until the stone s safety was questioned. As Harry learns
about a man named Voldemort and that
Get Out-Personal Narrative
I was so scared I didn t know what to do. I just wanted to get out. There s the exit I just have to make
it. AAAAAAAHHHH! It was Halloween and I was so excited to go trick or treating. I was going as
a ninja. I had a cool plastic carrier that I strapped to my back to carry my plastic Swords and Sais.
The rest of my costume was cool as well. It was black with a golden dragon on it. It had a hood
with a piece of cloth that covered my mouth so people could only see my eyes. The part that
covered my mouth made it look like my mouth was the dragon s mouth. It was finally time to go
trick or treating. I got in my costume, pulled my hood down over my face, and put on my
backpack. Then I grabbed my pillowcase and ran outside to join my grandma and... Show more

Neurobiology of Aging and the Diagnosis of Generalized...
The neurological deficits of aging may be viewed from a developmental perspective. That is, the
decline in functional efficiency and deterioration of highly specialized non dividing neuronal cells is
the end point of a maturation process that occurs throughout adult life. Involution to senescence is a
normal, inevitable, and inexorable physiological march; the end phase of which is expressed in
generally predictable and specifically unpredictable ways. The earliest of these developmental
changes occurs long before senescence and the effects of these physiological events quietly
accumulate toward expression late in life. There is a relationship between chronological age and the
developmental dimensions of human life, including behavior... Show more content on

Fetal Development Neuronal multiplication, differentiation, and migration are occurring by the third
week of embryonic life. Germinal cells proliferate in the matrix layer adjacent to the neuroaxis lumen
and undergo transformation into neuroblasts which periodically migrate with great predictability to
the marginal layer, which will later becomes the cortex. Migration is completed near the fifth fetal
month and mitotic figures disappear by the end of the sixth fetal month. Thus by twenty four weeks,
the embryo has its full quota of neuronal mass. Further gross brain development continues to birth
with the enfolding of the surface to form sulci and gyri and this predictable pattern is a reliable
estimate of fetal age. Definitive cytoarchitectural patterns are evidenced at birth, which are the
products of myelination having occurred at various levels at specific times, as well as the growth of
glial cells. Visual tracts become myelinated soon after birth, and the corticospinal tracts continue to
myelinate into the second year of postnatal life, after which time most myelination of the cerebrum
is becoming complete. Brain growth continues at a slowing pace postnatally until the fifteenth year,
when the average adult female brain weighs 1230 to 1275 g. and the average adult male brain
weighs 1350 to 1410 g. Myelination continues throughout the period, also at a declining rate. Studies
of ontogenic myelination demonstrate different rates of
Karen Wilson
I am recommending Karen Wilson for the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work practicum
stipend. I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Wilson through my employment at Rose State
College Student Support Services (TRIO) where I had the opportunity to mentor and provide
tutoring services to Ms. Wilson. She has continually demonstrated her commitment to her academics
and her community. Currently, she is employed by UCO Cares as a collegeTransition Coach.
Previously, she peered mentored students at RSC and encouraged them to join campus activities
such as student senate and to continue with higher education.
Academically, Ms. Wilson has stood out as a student that values her education. Her hard work and
dedication to assist others in need ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wilson has the ability to create a fun environment of learning through her participation in the
classroom.Highly energetic, quick witted and outgoing, she has an ability to brighten the bleakest
situations and transform gloomy days into positive environmental experiences. Throughout her
academic career, Ms. Wilson has embodied the values of the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of
Social. Her life of hardships and social injustice she has devoted her life to caring for the needs of
others. As a result of her being in a sandwich generation, she has learned the impact of counselors
and case workers have in a hospital setting. She has taken advantage of hospital resources to elevate
the stressors of the cost of care and treatments.
Ms. Wilson has always been viewed as a leader on campus and in her community. She continued to
position herself in leadership roles that assist the community. Ms. Wilson utilizes her creativity and
personal experience to give back to the community. Her knowledge of resources in the Oklahoma
Metro has allowed Ms. Wilson to provide excellent services to her clients.
I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with Ms. Wilson both in an academic setting and
in the community. Confident in her abilities, she will be an asset to any originations
The Life And Writings Of Edgar Allen Poe
Elton Truss ENGL 2306 2A1 Mrs. Sizemore 8 April 2017 The Life and Writings of Edgar Allen
Poe One of the most remembered and well known American writers of the 19th century, Edgar
Allen Poe is known for his gothic elements and the way he could portray the phycological state of
the people in the stories. Examples are his short stories The Raven, Tell Tale Heart as well as his
poems like Annabel Lee. But this paper is not about any of those. No, this paper is to look at how
the events in his life shaped and influenced the stories he wrote. Edgar Allen Poe was born on
January 19, 1809, in Boston, Massachusetts to David and Elizabeth Poe. It was not very long after,
in 1810, Poe s father David Poe, Jr left the family and died later that... Show more content on

From the very beginning, Poe s life did not have an easy start. There were many traumatic
moments in his formative years. His father s leaving and dying, and not even a year later, his
mother dies of tuberculosis. But what is interesting about the Tamerlane and Other Poems is that
it is under the name Bostonian. It is safe to say that Poe did not want his foster father John Allen
to know what he was doing. At same time, he was publishing this collection of poems under a
different name, Poe had enlisted in the army under the name Edgar A. Perry (Other Poems) In
the poem, Tamerlane (1827) Poe writes about a distant land were a conqueror named Tamerlane
is out on a quest for stature and renown. Poe has four themes in the poem. They are love, death,
beauty, and pride. Along the way, the hero ages and, when he is near death, regrets the love he
pushed aside during his quest. When he gets back he begins to rethink his choices and visits home
again. He finds it is not home anymore, and that he has only despair and a broken heart
(Tamerlane). Most biographers believe that the poem was about Poe s broken love affair with Sarah
Elmira Royster (Tamerlane) when he went off to achieve stature and renown at the university. But,
when he got back, he found that his home was no longer home. That it was Despair / A kingdom for
a broken heart which may represent his heart when he found out that Sarah was engaged to another
man. After
Carnival Cruise Line Outline
Carnival Cruise Line introduced its newest ship, the 133,596 gross ton Carnival Horizon, in April

Horizon sailed transatlantic to New York where she was named on 23 May by singer and actress
Queen Latifah.

Third Grade Classroom Observation
For my observation, I observed a first to third grade special day class at a public Fresno Unified
School District classroom in Fresno, California. When I first entered the classroom all the students,
approximately 10 students, were sitting down on the rug in front of the class as the teacher was
reading a short story to them. When she finished they would go over their reading assignment.
For the first half an hour, I could see that the students in the back had a difficult time sitting still in
the crisscross position on the rug. One student would frequently stand up on his knees, lie down on
the rug, or spin himself in a circle. During this time I noticed that most of the students who also sat
in the back row on the rug was talking to their peers, while one student stayed quiet and entertained
himself with hyperactivity movements, sucking on his thumb, or playing with his shoelaces. When
the teacher finishes her explanation of the butterfly life cycle, a student quietly raised his hand and
asks her if he would be able to create a human life cycle instead.
I chose to observe a young Caucasian male student, around seven or eight years old. I also do not
have any background information about this student. For the purpose of this observation paper, I am
going to name this student, John. John sat furthest away ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John was able to tell his teacher that after the baby is born, in seven years the baby will grow up
and be able to play soccer. John also appears to have a long term memory regarding the human life
cycle. Although I don t know if John has done any pervious study of the human life cycle, John
appears to have a domain of knowledge regarding the human life cycle. Thus, John was able to
successfully draw and write about the human life cycle himself without the help from his teacher,
peers, or other
