The University Of Findlay And Ohio Dominican University
As a senior in high school the time has come when people begin to ask big and sometimes
overwhelming questions like, Where are you going to college? and What will be your major?
These questions, of course, lead to college visits and decisions. The two colleges that seem to meet
my criteria are The Universityof Findlay and OhioDominican University. Both colleges have
positive aspects, such as having the major that I am interested in as well as being close to family.
However, The University of Findlay seems to be a better fit than Ohio Dominican because it is
closer to home and I am familiar with the campus and I grew up on this campus.
When comparing The University of Findlay (UF) and Ohio Dominican University (ODU), I have
found similarities and differences that can be seen as positive and negative. ODU is a private,
Catholic university that covers ninety three acres of land and was founded in 1911. There are
2,600 students enrolled at ODU. Of the students, fifty seven percent are female and forty three
percent are male. ODU has undergraduate and graduate programs. The University has sixteen
athletic teams that compete in the NCAA Division II and provides more than forty organizations
for the students to be involved in. ( How ODU Rank Among America s Best Colleges? ) ( ODU
Quick Facts ). ODU offers more than forty five majors ( Ohio Dominican Offers More than 45
Majors ) and does have middle school education for teaching, which is a major that I am considering.
Analysis Of My Pods And Broomsticks In The Simpsons
My Pods and Broomsticks a very controversial episode of The Simpsons is full of satire,
concentrating in the main theme of stereotypes and the ignorance of consumers in this day and age.
These are represented through the Simpsons, elements, or flaws of modern society are cleverly
displayed using many devices such as humour, puns, ironyand sarcasm. When analyse an episode of
the Simpson it gets you thinking, does the Simpson serve a greater propose than to just entertain?
In the start of the show, the Simpsons enter into the new store that opened up at their mall, Mapple
. This is a pun that represent Apple. Lisa is absorbed by Mapple and all the Mypods but everything
is too expensive and she can t afford to buy one. She asks a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He tells her he can t help her and says I know our posters say Think Differently but our real slogan
is No Refunds. This is sarcasm of merchandise corporations and the way they fool people into
thinking they mean well, when really they just want our cash. Along with the satire of the ignorance
of consumers these episode also discusses many stereotypes of modern day society. In this
episode Bart meets a new kid, Bashir whose family recently moved to the United States from
Jordan. The Simpsons have Bashir and his family over for dinner and Homer becomes suspicious
of them because they are Muslim. Throughout the episode Homer tries, to prove that Bashir s
parents are terrorists. This situation represents the stereotypes that are created by society and some
believe that all Muslim are dangerous terrorist. Sarcasm is shown in many instances, one that stuck
out was when Homer makes fun of the Muslim religion and culture. Instead of saying Praise Allah
he says Praise be to Oliver and instead of saying the Kuraan, he says the Corona Stereotypes are
shown when Homer automatically assumes that Bashir s parents are terrorists since they are
Muslim. Another example is when one of Homer s friend Leny tells him He s Muslim, so he must
be up to something.
Throughout this episode, these two aspects of modern day society are
The Evil Of Evil People
Evil People By nature, humankind tends to be more evil than good. Even though, some people are
born with kinder temperament than others, everyone is conceived and birth in sin (Psalm 58.3). For
this, in many traditions, once a woman gives birth, the baby is either baptized or blessed by his
community to welcome him into the world, and to remove him from sin. People are naturally self
centered, jealous, mean individuals who want to gain, but not work hard. They crave violence, and
would instantly cut corners wherever possible to get whatever they want, even if it means to be
consciously good from time to time. As misunderstood by many, a person does not have to commit
heinous act such as to kill, to enslave or to rape all conscious activities, to be evil. As long as he had
thought of evil, was born with sin, and is evil, his nature is evil. Babies scratch, kick, bite and
give people misery even before they are exposed to life or could tell that what they are doing is
bad and painful, and people tend to show their true self when there is no one around to judge
them. As stated in the Bible, the rod and reproof gives wisdom, but a child left to himself brings
shame to his mother (Prov.29:15). If a child is not consciously trained and disciplined by his elders,
who learned from their elders, he could pander to his predisposed fondness of envy, hatred and
selfishness. And, if he indulges this fondness, it would lead him into wrangling and strife, and all

Iah Ra Research Paper
It was the first in between time of the day, when the moon was fading and the sun was rising.
Today was a day of celebration , as a gift form Iah Ra tribe was to be given to a long time
neighboring tribe today. This tradition started many years ago when they were enemies, for both
tribes lost many warriors to a battle of land and pride. As a peace offering, Iah Ra gave a child of the
moonas a bride to their strongest warrior as life companion, usually a bride.

For some reason, most of the members were born during the sun, but every once in a while a child
would be born when the moon was high. These children were usual striking different from the rest
of the tribe. Almost all were women, but 18 winters ago, a rarity happen. A male child was born
during a full moon, the day of an eclipse. The youngest of the Chief Ra s line was welcomed into
the world and had a predestined duty for when he reached adulthood. ... Show more content on

He was finally an adult and he was going to meet his husband. His father and brothers are now
meeting the Chief of the neighboring tribe, working out details of the binding ceremony, which
would begin during the second in between of the day, when the sun set and the moon shined
bright. He doesn t know who the man he was binding to, but he was preparing his whole life to be
the proper companion for a warrior. He finally got up as he heard the women call him to prepare for
Rousseau Social Inequality
To begin, inequality remains an injustice in which society strives to avoid because it often
addresses the definitive distinction between the wealthy, and impoverished, oppressing those who
are slaves to the rich. Rousseau indicates the inequalities of society when he states, ...Labour
became necessary; and boundless forests became smiling fields, which it was found necessary to
water with human sweat; and in which slavery and misery were soon seen to sprout out and grow
with the fruits of the earth (Rousseau [1761] 2004). Thus, Rousseau indicates how slavery became
essential to human life, and that without the existence of slavery a civil society would cease to
exist. A proper functioning society only exists if there is slavery, and those... Show more content on

In their objective to receive justice for an innocent civilian killed, they are exemplifying the
injustices they endure as a minority group. The article states that, ... Residents are continuing to
demand the arrest of the white police officer who shot dead unarmed black teenager Michael Brown
(Goodman, and Gonzalez 2014). Furthermore, stating that authorities ...Are now asking them for
patience and trust and promising to get to the right answer involving the shooting (Goodman, and
Gonzalez 2014). Thus, the citizens of Ferguson have suffered at the hands of authorities, and wish to
appropriate their voice to extend their disgust for the mistreatment they tolerate. Furthermore, once
protesting begins they are asked for civility, and patience regardless of the countless times they
were neglected of the same ideals (Goodman, and Gonzalez 2014). Hence, this is identified in both
Rousseau and Burke as evidence concludes that political, and class inequality are identifying factors
in the citizens inability to appropriate their voice (Burke [1790] 2005; Rousseau [1761] 2004). They
both maintain the views of an oppressive society, and that members of the oppressed group the
impoverished are driven away from rational thinking. I believe they enhance the ideals that citizens
are unable to think critically, and must conduct their lives in a manner idealistic to their sovereign in
fear of death, or punishment. Thus, both men present similar arguments relating to the inability for
enlightenment. Citizens who are not of reputable social status are oppressed, and are unable to raise
concerns on aspects that are vital to their lives, thus resulting in the inability to achieve
Narrative Progression In Margaret Atwood s Happy Endings
Happy Endings is a short story written by Margaret Atwood. The story is different than what
readers may be used to because it doesn t follow a traditional plot line. Instead, Margaret s story
follows an experimental narrative progression . This type of story progression is a way that an
author can manipulate, contort, or obscure the 5 Stages of Plotstructure (Hillard, Point of View in
Fiction). In this essay, I will explore how experimental narrativeprogression is used in Happy
Endings , how it works in the story, how it relates to the story, and my opinion on experimental
narrative progression in Margaret Atwood s Happy Endings . How is experimental narrative
progression used in Happy Endings ? This type of story progression is used in this story because
the story as a whole doesn t go in order of a traditional plot line. The first story (the original story)
serves as the ending for each of the other versions that Margaret provides for the reader. Each of
the new versions follow the same characters as in the original story, but they lead different lives.
For example, in the original story the two characters fall in love with each other but in the next
version of that story the man doesn t love the woman even though she still loves the man. Also,
Happy Endings uses experimental narrative progression because there are several beginnings and
middles based on the story as a whole. However, there is only one ending which is the original story.
The Effect Of Modern Medicine On Health, Wellness, And...
As interest in natural means to improved health, wellness and fitness grows, essential oils are
gaining in popularity in the United States. The healing powers, on both physiological and
psychological levels, have been utilized in Europe and the rest of the world for some time. Natural,
pure essential oils used in aromatherapy have a very diverse range of healing properties as diverse as
the hundreds of plants from which they are distilled. The effects range from antibiotic (without
incurrence of resistance as with pharmaceutical drugs), to antiviral (the power of which modern
medicine has yet to replicate), to anti inflammatory and analgesic, with many having homeostatic
properties meaning they support balance in many of the body s systems.
Here s brief look at ten essential oils commonly used in the home health care kit the list and
descriptions are not meant to be exhaustive; rather, let them stimulate your interest in furthering your
knowledge of these oils, their applications, and the vast potential of the many, many other essential
oils available today.

Tea Tree Essential Oil When first examined for it s antiseptic properties, Tea Tree essential oil was
found to be 100 times more powerful than carbolic acid the medical standard at the time. Tea tree
has an extremely broad range of antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal properties that have been
confirmed by modern scientific research. Often used topically on small wounds, Tea
Gaia In The Porgony
Firstly, Gaia is represented seemingly both as an abstract concept and a semi anthropomorphised
deity. She is described as Vast Earth (Hesiod, Theogony, 61) implying that she is an object, or a
non sentient entity. Conversely, she is also able to speak as she does to her sons (Hesiod,
Theogony, 66 9), and as she is pregnant she is strained and stretched (Hesiod, Theogony, 61) and
showing a humanlike discomfort. This demonstrates a struggle to keep Earth a purely objectified
concept and a simultaneous failure to fully humanise her, resulting in a contradictory depiction of
Gaias existence in Theogony. However, this method of characterisation does succeed in allowing the
concept of Earth in this story to be relatable to the audience. If... Show more content on

She speaks to her sons, saying that their father is a reckless fool (Hesiod, Theogony, 66), and this
same respect you may expect the sons to owe their father is non existent here. What this does is
put Gaia in contrast with Ouranos, painting her as the character who was wronged and ought to
be sympathised with, as opposed to Ouranos, causing pain and committing his wicked crime
(Hesiod, Theogony, 68). It also makes Gaia further appear to be a more positively portrayed
character in these lines, the good juxtaposed with Ouranos evil. Despite the fact that she is
described as devising a clever, evil plan, (Hesiod, Theogony, 62), it does appear that Gaia is the more
favourable character in this segment of the story. She is, in opposition, the lesser of two evils.
Furthermore, she is still being described as clever, so even if it is true that what she is doing is evil,
it is not portrayed as foolish in the same way Ouranos had
