Comparing Abrahamic, Monotheistic, And The Sacred Texts
Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are the three major religions in the world with fourteen million
followers for Judaism, 2.1 billion for Christianity, and 1.5 billion for Islam. While many people
today only see the differences between the three major monotheistic religions, they are in fact much
more similar than they are different. Each religion is Abrahamic, monotheistic, and the sacred texts
all contain teachings. These religions are considered Abrahamic because they all consider Abraham
the Biblical patriarch or father. In Judaism, there is a story behind him questioning the faith of the
gods. The story goes as one day, in his father s shop, he smashed all the statues of the gods except
for the largest one. When the father came back,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also believe that he created the universe that we live in now. In Islam, Muslims believe that
Allah is the only god. Muhammed was on top of a hilltop when the angel Gabriel came to him and
told about the revelations from god. He believes Allah already revealed himself through Jesus and
Moses. Muslims must say, I witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammed is the
prophet of Allah, when they wake up and before they go to sleep. Jews believe in the god,
Yahweh or also called Elohim. Abraham was dedicated to Yahweh, so he and his wife went to
Canaan where the god made a convent agreement with him. To faithfully follow Yahweh, he
changed their names from Abram and Sarai to Abraham and Sarah. It is controversial whether
they all believe in the same god and different names or not, but overall they all believe in one god
who they follow and worship. All three religions contain sacred texts that all contain laws or
teachings. The Hebrew Bible (known as the Old Testament to Christians) is the foundation of
Judaism. The first five books are called the Torah. The Torah means the law and the religious law,
Halakhah, is taught in a separate book. However, the Torah, contains the teachings god has provided
about himself, his purposes, and how people should obey him in every aspect of their life. The
Bible is the sacred text of Christianity. It consists of the Old and New Testament.
Chrissie Chapter Summary
As Kathy, Ruth and Tommy ventured onto the next step of their short lived lives, they come to
meet a couple of veterans at the cottages. Chrissie and Rodney are considered the cool couple that
everyone looks up to. Upon meeting them, Ruth becomes immediately attached mainly because
she would like to be in the spotlight, but also because she had the idea of her and Tommy
alongside Chrissie and Rodney at the head of the cottages. Kathy was not so eager as Ruth. She
knew deep down, that there was something odd about Chrissie s obsession with them being
Hailsham students. The point about Chrissie and this applied to a lot of the veterans was that for
all her slightly patronizing manner towards us when we d first arrived, she was awestruck about our
being from Hailsham. It took me a long time to realize this. (Kathy, Chapter 12)
Ishiguro created Chrissie as a very co dependant minor character. She has very low self esteem and
relies on Rodney for everything. Rodney is a very laid back individual in harmony with Chrissie in
every which way. It wasn t understood until later that they hadn t befriended the hailsham students to
be nice, but to later uncover more information about deferrals for ... Show more content on

These questions leading to Tommy s theory about Madame taking their artwork as children for later
in life, when deciding if two individuals were in love. If so, then those two lovebirds would be able
to defer their donation for a few years to be together. This set Ruth off to imagine what being with
Tommy would be like in the real world. With him bringing her coffee in the middle of the day, to
her office building where she worked. It similarly impacted Kathy in a way that no one knew or
understood about. She secretly pictured what a short lived life with Tommy would entail, but was
continuously crushed when coming back to the reality of Ruth and Tommy applying for the deferral
The Learning And Teaching Strategies
Many great learning and teaching strategies are presented in the text, How we learn... of which a
few learning tactics, namely discrimination, perceptual learning, chunking and interleaving will be
briefly discussed as to how they have relevance in my context. To begin we will examine
discrimination, the brain s ability to detect minute differences in sights, sounds and textures. [Such is
considered]...one of the first steps we take in making sense of the world (Carey, 2012, p.180). This
learningtechnique occurs often during HT training as students detect differences in breathing
patterns of those being treated, l see slight tremors or body twitches that accompanies release of
stagnate energy and perceived smoothness of textures in the human energy field (Mentgen
Bulbrook, 2011). Next, perceptual learning occurs as the brain takes notice of subtle differences in
techniques, such as hand positions that seem the same but may not have the same therapeutic effect.
Another learning strategy that can be useful in HT training is chunking which is the simple act of
grouping bits and pieces of information together to make a whole (or at minimal a segment) of a
concept. For example words stringed together create sentences and sentences which are connected
formulate paragraph. In the case of HT chunking is necessary as a series of hand movements and/or
places equate to a specific healing technique. The final relevant strategy from the text is that if
interleaving, a cognitive science
Calpurnia Character Traits
Calpurnia Character Analysis Calpurnia, or Cal , was the Finch s African American housekeeper
and cook. Her being a black, middle aged woman in a white dominated society, we can already infer
she has experienced great racial injustices. Throughout the novel, we see significant and noticeable
changes in the main characters, but little development in Calpurnia´s character. Before you discard
this essay on what was supposed to be about a chosen character changing due to social and racial
injustices throughout the book, give the thesis some thought. Scout is the narrator of the book,
therefore we are seeing changes through her point of view; so we only see Calpurnia changing
through the eyes of Scout, but they were not in actuality... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Towards Jem, we see instances in Calpurnia in which she almost seems soft. For example, after
Jem wrecks Mrs. Dubose s camellia, and the kids were skulking around, Calpurnia knew Jem was
upset, and gave him a hot biscuit and butter. One may argue this is the beginning of a change in
Calpurnia, but we may look at it as Cal just being a mom. One can refute the argument of change
that Scout is just beginning to see the good side of her and why Cal does what she does. She has
already gone through the phases with her own children, and know how it is herself growing up. In
the middle of To Kill a Mockingbird, Jem is starting to grow up and is becoming a teenager. This
is evident by Scout s overwhelming frustration with Jem in the quote, His maddening superiority
was unbearable these days. He didn t want to do anything but read and go off by himself. (Lee 184)
Calpurnia, being the experienced mother/caregiver she is, had seen that, and started giving Jem his
space, and started calling him Mister Jem . Scout realizes Calpurnia is not as bad as she once
thought. Scout realizes Calpurnia can be nice when given the chance. During Tom Robinson s trial,
Scout starts to understand the entirety of racial injustice. We see this when Scout meets the lynch
mob outside Tom s cell before the trial, and she stopped them by talking to and embarrassing Mr.
Cunningham. It was not until after that night

In this project, I will describe a scenario in which I am developing within my own ministry to
engage people in helping them think theologically. The Church today is suffering greatly because
many people are not engaged in Scripture, practicing spiritual disciplines, or thinking theologically. I
hope to create a pattern to correct that and give them the ability to not just learn a little each week
from a sermon, but take everything that comes at them and learn from it, while giving them the
ability to teach others as well.
Examining three models found in this week s reading, Aware Engage Apply (Grenz and Olson 129
130), Attending Asserting Acting (Christian Thinking) and Analysis Reflection Application
(Umbel), each three fold model had the same basic principle: intake of knowledge, processing that
knowledge, and using that knowledge. In order for this to be effective, I will need to address each
of the three legs so that everything remains balanced. First, the intake of knowledge (other models
use awareness, analysis, or attending), must be biblical sound. If people are to think theologically,
they must be taught theologically first, which means we must teach them to Word of God in its
entirety, not just select Scriptures to back up our thought of the day.
The second leg of thinking is the processing of that knowledge; once a believer receives knowledge,
he or she must know how to process that information in light of God and the Scriptures. While
everyone thinks
The Second World War Essay
The Second World War The Second World War had three major axis powers. They were Germany,
Italy, and Japan. The Axis were the countries that had expansionist plans. Only Japan was not a
fascist regime in the Axis. Adolph Hitler, the German Nazi leader, was the one who called upon
the creation of an Axis in 1936. Italy and Japan accepted Hitler s offer. Japan recognized the
leadership of Germany and Italy in establishment of a new order in Europe. Furthermore, Germany
and Italy respected Japan s leadership in East Asia. They also agreed that they would assist each
other with political, economical and military means. The main cause of World War II goes back to

That was the beginning of the World War II. Since Germany had the most efficient army they
conquered Poland with the help of the Soviet Union. Resulting in more problems with the allied
nations, France and Britain. While this was going on, Japanese forces pushed down into northern
China. They conquered two Chinese provinces rich in coal and iron. They were successful
against the Chinese communist party, People s Republic of China. After invading China, Japan
conquered Taiwan and most of the Pacific Islands. Japan was ruled by a military dictatorship.
Italy had been humiliated in World War I. Where they lost many battles and needed to be rescue
by France and British forces. So the fascist party in Italy took over the government. They were
lead by Benito Mussolini, who became Italy s prime minister. He was determined to make Italy a
formidable and feared power. In 935, Italy invaded the African nation of Ethiopia. They also
conquered Albania while Germany was invading Austria. The Axis were gaining more and more
power but the Allies would gain a important member, the United States of America. 2 European

The Rise Of China s Economy
Since the fall of the Soviet Union Americans have had the luxury of living in a country with no
foreign rival. When we do look to see who could be a potential existential threat, the answer is
almost always China. China s economy is growing rapidly, its military is expanding, and its
diplomatic influence has spread to every continent. However, despite its impressive rise in the last
fifteen years, China remains decades away from competing with the US on any level.
There has been more discussion of the rise of China in recent years due to the struggles in our
own country. Our economy is growing very slowly, we have a massive national debt, and many of
our weapon systems are aging. It is easy to get the impression that the U.S. is in decline while China
is on the rise.
China has emerged in the last fifteen years due largely to free market reforms and expanded
international trade. China is now the top exporter in the world. China s economy has grown from
$3 trillion in 2000 to $8.7 trillion in 2009. In 2009, China s economy grew 8.7% while the U.S.
economy shrunk 2.4%. China will soon become the largest economy in the world, surpassing the
United States.
Despite these impressive numbers, most of China still struggles with poverty, unemployment, and
civil unrest. Per capita income in the U.S. is still over seven times more ($46,000 compared to
only $7,000 in China). It will be decades before the Chinese people will have an equal standard of
living to the United States,

Most Dangerous Game Analysis
Imagine that somebody falls off their boat, gets stuck on an island, and then is hunted down. The
same thing happened to Rainsford in Richard Connell s story, The Most Dangerous Game. In it,
Rainsford gets stuck on an island and meets General Zaroff who hunts people and is going to kill
him, unless Rainsford kills him first. Rainsford, therefore, runs throughout the forest area trying to
avoid being killed and hoping to kill General Zaroff as well. At the end, Rainsford did survive the
ordeal, which means the General died. The theme that results from these events, though, is treat
people the same way you want to be treated. The story illustrates the theme through its inciting
incident, Rainsford s goal, events in the story, and its resolution. Therefore, in The Most Dangerous
Game, Rainsfords journey demonstrates how people should treat others the same way they want to
treated, otherwise there might be dire consequences, such as life or death. First, Rainsford s goal
and the story s inciting incident help to display the theme. The inciting incident is when Rainsford
realizes that General Zaroff hunts people and Rainsford is next. Rainsford perceives this when the
General stated , The choice rests entirely with you. But may I not venture to suggest that you will
find my idea of sport more diverting than Ivan s (Connell). This event thrusts him into the General s
dangerous game and spurs on his goal to survive, as well as kill General Zaroff. More importantly,

The Brutality Of The Police Force
Police Misconduct The brutality of the police force has been a long worldwide problem, but
especially between the years of 2012 2016. Black people are being unjustly beaten and shot in
plain sight for doing nothing while being unarmed. Journal of African American Studies Blacks
are viewed as deserving of harsh treatment in the criminal justice system (482). Black males with
more Afrocentric features may receive longer sentences than blacks with less Afrocentric
features like lighter skin and straighter hair (482). Nowadays it is important to know about the
police force. It s important to know our rights as citizens and be careful around cops. Not
everybody is good, but not everybody is bad also. In The New York Amsterdam News 21 people
were killed by Chicago police in 2008. Entire families were being attacked. They believe it s
because of their skin color and how they are different. The year of racism started off with the
world seeing the police murder of Oscar Grant. The media have pushed people away from hearing
the issue of police brutality, and it has fallen off of the radar screen. (2) You can t give in. They
will try to make an example out of you, try to break your spirit! (2) African Americans say do not
trust the cops with anything. They will ruin you. (2) Technology has shaped the large social

shift into the interstitial space, which was no longer functioning to maintain vascular volume

This caused Mr X to become increasingly hypotensive and tachycardic.
Table 2 shows some of the chemical mediators involved in Mr X s inflammatory process, causing it
to become more severe and uncontrolled, resulting in a further decline in his clinical presentation.
His clinical observations were now: Blood Pressure: 80/50mmHg
MAP: 55mmHg
Heart Rate: 130 beats per minute
The patient was now diagnosed as being in septic shock. His skin was mottled with an increasing
capillary refill time. Schmidt and Mandel (2008) suggest this is a sign of hypoperfusion as the skin
is vasoconstricting due to the redirection of blood flow to the core organs.
I informed the doctor and expressed my concerns regarding the patient s hypotension.
A 250ml fluid bolus of colloid was given as an attempt to improve Mr X s blood pressure and MAP.
The early intravenous fluid administration for resuscitation of the critically ill hypovolemic patient is
the corner stone of shock therapy (Kruemer amp; Ensor 2012). The Surviving Sepsis recommends
early optimization in the first six hours, followed with fluid challenges in the case of persistent hypo
Informative Essay On Skateboarding
Tony Hawk, the most well well known skater ever, has a net worth of 120 million dollars. Even
though he started skating a long time ago he was not always this recognized. This is because
skateboarding was completely different both the culture and the tricks. How has skateboarding
progressed over time? Skateboarding has many styles that may have contributed to this as well as
the culture that was created around the sport. Even the simple fact that people could make money
skateboarding helped. Skateboarders got better over the years because the sport got more popular
and competitive.
A big reason why skateboarding became the way it is is by becoming very popular. The sport has
grown so much that there is a good chance that you know someone who has one. This was not
always the case though. It mainly originated in California. It took time for people to discover the
sport in other places. The skating industry is now worth a lot of money because ... Show more

are many videos and clips of skateboarders online. This kind of exposure is one of the main reasons
skateboarding got so famous. Skaters that became celebrities like Tony Hawk and Bam Margera got
many young people interested in skateboarding.
Another way that skateboarding can be turned into a career is by winning competitions. Freestyle
competitions were some of the first type of skateboarding competitions to appear. A notable
skateboarder is Rodney Mullen who skate with Tony Hawk and become very famous. Skateboarding
competitions became even more competitive when they got more formal with the x games holding

Seatbelts
Definition= A seat belt is a vehicular safety device designed to secure the occupant of a vehicle
against harmful movement that may result during a collision or a sudden stop.
Seatbelts are used so that the occupant is not thrown forward during a vehicle crash, as a result of
inertia. Inertia is the tendency to stay in the same state of either moving, or not moving, and
because of this, anything inside of a car when it crashes wants to continue to move forward.
Seatbelts restrict the space for the occupant to move, keeping them in their place, and stopping them
from moving forward. Seatbelts also spread the load exerted on the body to the areas that can handle
the force, such as the chest and hips.
Seatbelts are one of the major safety features of a car, as without them, a person is almost certain to
die in a collision. Seatbelts however, increase the chance of survival by 45%.
As seen from the images below, seatbelts decrease both force and g s applied on their user during a
collision, decreasing the strain put on their bodies.

Contrasting Responsibility in Carver s Fever and...
What allows a human being to constantly face up to the responsibilities of life? What makes a
mother or father continue to clothe, feed, and pick up their child from school? What makes a
person wake up every morning to go to a job he or she hates, come home, and begin the whole
process the following morning? Is it responsibilitythat makes a person do what they have to do, or
rather is it fearing the consequence? Truthfully, this would depend on the situation. Parents would
most likely fulfill their responsibility towards their child or children because of love; but a person
who hates his or her job probably continues to do it fearing the consequence of unemployment. In the
end, one realizes that despite all the responsibilities a person... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As the plot is established, one realizes that Sonny has been arrested for using heroin and sent to
rehabilitation. Consequently, Sonny s brother is so disappointed in him that he initially refuses to
even contact him until he writes a letter to inform Sonny of his daughter s death. When Sonny
responds, the first words he writes are, You don t know how much I needed to hear from you (6).
This opening sentence jolts Sonny s brother into realizing that at the moment his brother needed him
the most, he did not even bother to at least acknowledge him.
Before passing away, the narrator s mother made him promise to always take care of Sonny: You
got to hold on to your brother, she said, and don t let him fall, no matter what it looks like is
happening to him and no matter how evil you gets with him. You going to be evil with him many a
time. But don t you forget what I told you, you hear? (14). The narrator s initial lack of contact
might seem that he has forgotten his promise and his responsibility as an older brother. Realistically
though, the narrator is angry at Sonny s decisions to take heroin and consequently get arrested. This
anger that he holds is preventing him from fulfilling his promise and his responsibility; however,
when he receives the letter from Sonny stating, You don t know how much I needed you , the anger
dissipates and he realizes that his younger brother is in need of guidance and love rather than anger
and ignorance.
