Abstract
Incentive theories were examined to recognize how motivation benefits the self directed learner. The
purpose of this inquiry was to become familiar with intrinsic motivation and its components. The
documented research includes information gathered from journals, articles, and empirical results.
Further analysis is being considered if time permits. Keywords: growth, intrinsic, learner, motivation,
personal, self directed, self motivated
Empowering the Intrinsically Motivated Mind There is nothing more powerful than an intrinsically
motivated mind. It is self directed, active, and exhibits strength while identifying shortcomings.
These traits are essential to the decisive mindset of an active learner. Although intrinsically
motivated learners model personal strength, identifying self improvement is unceasing. The self
directed learner determines deficiencies, and formulates a growth plan that encompasses an
implementation strategy. Therefore, maintaining a self improvement strategy is import. In short, an
intrinsically motivated mind continuously self corrects to establish a winning quality.
Essential Aspects There are several elements of an intrinsically motivated learner. For many scholars
the essential ingredients include challenge , curiosity , control ,
The And Non Pharmacy Personnel
and non pharmacy personnel. Officer Hartshorn also suggested placing tape on doorways to help
determine the height of a robber as well as limiting the stock of controlled substances or to have
controlled substances in a locked safe, or otherwise hard to get to location.2 Time is a robber s
worst enemy so implementing ways to slow down the process may make the robber abort the robbery
. According to John Partridge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, another suggestion is to have
communication with other pharmacies in the area and with local law enforcement in advance of any
robbery or burglary incidents and to invite law enforcement to tour the pharmacyand offer
recommendations on deterring theft.7 Also, make sure there is enough... Show more content on

If the robber is not wearing a mask, Officer Hartshorn shared that taking note of the robber s face
can be very useful in an investigation.2 However, other schools of thought on this matter state
that it is better to take a submissive stance, not to look the perpetrator in the eye (i.e., don t stare)
and keep eyes down so the robber will not think s/he can be identified, which could make the
situation become deadly. Using downward directed and peripheral vision to see clothing, shoes,
tattoos, a weapon, and as much of the robber as possible is less likely to escalate the event.7 Some
pharmacies have a no escalation policy, encouraging employees to not do anything that would anger
the robber and perhaps make the situation more dangerous than it already is. In doing so, an
employee should be cooperative and remain calm.7 Officer Hartshorn states that if the robber says s
/he has a gun, assume that to be true.2 Pharmacy employees should not get an attitude, try to be a

Descriptive Essay About My House
Who I Am. I grew up in a city called Thornton in the state of Colorado. The neighborhood i lived in
is known as Skylake Ranch and it s an up and coming prosperous suburbia. Two blocks behind my
house was the wealthier neighborhood, and three blocks in front of my home was old run down
houses. Our area had a strict HOA so we could only have specific things in front of our house also
only a handful of colors we could paint our homes, yet on the other side of the street the HOA
didn t control the area. It was unique seeing what the strict housing looked like side by side with
the HOA free houses. The area surrounding my childhood home was a melting pot. Directly across
the street we had neighbors from Ecuador while our next door neighbors legally immigrated from
china. Education level differed from house to house just on my block alone. Everyone was first
time home owners in these newly built houses we lived in. While the neighborhood had all its
original tenets everyone would help each other with building fences, or with other tasks for the
exterior of the homes. Regardless of where anyone originally came if there was a man in his
garage all the dads would soon follow into the same garage and share drinks and talk for a few
hours at a time. My neighborhood was split between blue collar, and white collar employees. It was
also split between liberals, and conservatives. Though my child hood neighborhood was a melting
pot with different ethnic, and political beliefs if I had
Orthodox Medical Education Case Study
This case, first off, was very hard to read simply because trying to picture the pain and death of
this two and a half year old was very saddening. The legal responsibility of parents with critically
ill children should be mandatory orthodox medical treatment. I am a firm believer in praying for
healing and talking to God, but I am twenty two years old and that is something that I choose to
do; a two year old is not old enough to go to God and talk to Him regarding his or her pain. Society
should most definitely require the usage of orthodox medical care , regardless of their religious
convictions, for their critically ill children. As a Christian, I do not believe that this particular law
would interfere with the First Amendment right to religious
Traditional Princessed From Snow White And The Traditional...
Growing up as a 90 s child, Disney films played an important role in my childhood. As a female
viewer, Disney princesses played a bigger role in deciding which Disney films to watch. As the
years went on, new Disney princesses were introduced with different styles compared to the
traditional Disney princesses. A traditional Disney princess can be defined as one of the first
princesses Walt Disneycreated, specifically during the 20th century, and the newer princesses can be
defined as the princesses Disney created in the 21st century. Although Disney continues to create
princesses, the roles and views of the newer princesses in Disney movies have changed, as they are
seen as more independent, adventurous, and unfocused on finding their prince charming, compared
to the older traditional Disney princess films. In this essay, I will be comparing a traditional
princess, Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, with one of the recent princesses
Disney has introduced in recent years, Anna and Elsa from Frozen.
After Walt Disney acted out scenes of his movie idea to his co workers, the production of Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs began. Disney brought in real actors and real life animals to his
studios to have animators study and reproduce their movements in their film. With over 2000
pictures created and cleaned by hundreds of workers and a million and a half dollars spent, Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs was released in December of 1937 and received a standing ovation
The Importance of Securing Sensitive Items Essay example
Sensitive items are anything that is considered classified or a mission essential item. These items
can include protective gear, maps, or a piece of paper designating patrol routes. The importance of
securing sensitive items comes down to maintaining accountability for operation security, mission
success and a soldiers over all readiness. The habits of exercising security and accountability of a
soldiers items allow the soldier and their team to operate to the highest standards or have items be
accessed by an opposing adversary creating loss of overall mission success. Operational security is
a process that denied critical information to an adversary. If one were to obtain the information
presented it could be used against friendly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although sensitive items of restricted nature may not disclose information of high value, items
and information obtained from being unsecured can cause adverse effects impacting mission
success to include compromised routes, vehicle information or sensitive items used for personal
protection. Any and all information obtained by any means can be used to put together a larger
pictures of a units operations. Leaving the units operational security compromised. Each person
themselves are responsible for exercising reasonable and effective actions to properly care, store,
safeguard and use any and all items presented to them whether it be issued or acquired through
personal expense. Taking the time to either store items in a secure location such as a locker or
independent room that is secured and solely accessed by the owner of the stored items. Placing
care of items to trusted members of your unit is also considered safeguarding items of value but
trust should not always be put into everyone with in a unit for storage. In the case of Aldrich Ames
we can see that some people can t be trusted no matter what profession they may hold. Ames was
convicted of spying for the Soviet Union/Russia, betraying many persons within the U.S.

Divine Providence In The Book Of Esther
In the book of Esther the big idea is salvation and deliverance comes not so much by human effort
but by God s divine providence. While God is not directly mentioned by name we are given many
clues to his presence and participation in the events of the book. Even before we are introduced
to the villain, Haman, and made privy to his plan to exterminate Mordecai and the Jews (Esther
3:1 3) we witness God s divine providence in placing Esther and Mordecai into a position of
influence to thwart Haman s murderous plan. This providence first appears in chapter 1 with the
undoing of Queen Vashti (1:10 22), it continues in the next chapter with the decision to hold a
contest among virgins to replace her (2:1 8), and it concludes with Mordecai overhearing... Show

In completely downplaying their role I feel I could send an improper message that we have no
role or responsibility in what God is doing in the world. While it s obvious that God s divine
providence was the ultimate reason for His people s deliverance, Esther and Mordecai s
willingness to take initiative and reach deep and find the courage to be used by God to overcome
the threat of the enemy is significant. Let us not forget that Mordecai and Esther could of
responded differently, they could ve chosen fear over courage or flight instead of fight but their
willingness to choose courage and fight played a part in the salvation and deliverance of their
people. Let this remind us that divine providence does not negate our responsibility to act with
obedience, courage and resolve when our circumstances call for it. In conclusion, this book once
again reiterates the common theme we see throughout scripture that our God will divinely intervene
to fulfill his promise and in doing so, will use those who are
Kurt Vonnegut Conflicts
Plausibly the most convoluted manifestations of the human ego, the internal debate between what
one desires and what is deemed morally correct has perpetually perplexed human beings since the
genesis of mortal conflict. During these scenarios, it is not uncommon for overbearing emotions like
paranoia or vindictiveness to eclipse logical rationale; however, in order to successfully confront this
conflict, tame his passion, and fulfill his obligations, man is compelled to disregard the lasting
consequences of his actions. In his satirical novel entitled Cat s Cradle, Kurt Vonnegutpresents a
realistic, yet farcical, cast of characters who delude themselves into zealously pursuing private
passions such as religion, romance, and science whilst... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A significant portion of the novel is spent elaborating upon Vonnegut s portrayal of the fantasized
Bokonon religion. Even before the narration commences, Vonnegut alludes to the crux of
Bokononism instructing to live by the foma that make you brave, kind, happy, and healthy. Indeed,
the San Lorenzo citizens readily accept the foma, or harmless untruths, in spite of being utterly
meaningless, because it is simply easier to acquiesce to the status quo. Indeed, a religion that
promises to enrich and liberate its followers minds from inhibitions is far more appealing than the
grim, unexplored counteroffer. However, as Vonnegut illustrates with the suicides of the Bokonon
disciples via ice nine, the best option is not always the most tempting
Ethical Issues Involved With Human Sex Robots
There are several stakeholders involved in these ethical issues. First, would be the producers
themselves. They will need to test and make sure their product is safe for the users and accept
responsibility for any faults in the product. Another stakeholder will be the consumer who is using
the product. They will need to make sure it is safe and that they are using the product correctly. The
consumers themselves will need to deal with the psychological and family problems that could occur
from owning a humansex robot. Family members will play a huge role in the ethical issues
involved with owning a human sex robot. The family structure can be destroyed and it could
potentially lead to a divorce, which would not only affect the spouse but the children that are
involved in that relationship as well. The legal personnel involved with human sex robots would
be law enforcement as well as others. As of right now, there are no laws in place regarding human
sex robots, but once they are available to purchase and or marry, legal action will need to take
place. Finally, all of society can and will be affected by human sex robots. Futuristically thinking, if
humans are marrying robots and these robots look like ordinary people, society will be interacting
with them on a daily basis.
Although there are many ethical issues involved in the making and selling of human sex robots,
many people are not concerned with this invention. There are several groups that are against the
Cyber Criminals, Thieves, And Terrorism
Every day, hospitals in the United States and around the world are working long hours in
responding to emergencies, attending patients, delivering newborn babies, performing surgeries, and
foremost saving lives. Not too long ago, cyberspace has given institutions such as hospitals the tools
to accumulate and file as much information and data as possible in this great space of technology,
networks, and systems. Information such as patient s information, treatments, machinery, as well as
having a better way to have a secure place to store them and have authorization in accessing them.
However, such tools had been used as weapons by those who want to have access and possession of
such critical information and control by cyber criminals, thieves, and terrorists. Unfortunately, it s
not simple to live in a world in which laws can just simply protect institutions that help save lives.
Rather, hospitals have fallen as victims of cyberattacks.
On the evening of February 5th, at Los Angeles, California, doctors and staff from Hollywood
Presbyterian Medical Center, noticed several technical issues while trying to access the hospital s
computer network. The hospital s IT department was notified, and they began their investigation to
determine the cause of these issues. However, these issues carried on for approximately a week,
which was a frustration for doctors and staff members because they were unable to digitally access
patient s medical records and treatments, communication via
Marchionne Chrysler Merger
Prior to Sergio Marchionne s arrival, it appeared Chrysler Group LLC, organizational culture
consisted of reacting to falling sales by slashing prices (Kreitner and Kinicki, 2013). Due to reduced
sales volume, Chrysler had experienced major financial issues, including bankruptcy reorganization.
The observable artifacts that I would suspect prior to Marchionne s arrival would be massive
advertisements endorsing Chryslerrebates, vehicle discounts, and slashed prices. After Marchionne
got upset about the sales team giving away margin , he had to shake up the organization culture and
transform the company s way of thinking. Chrysler had to do something if it was ever going to get
back to a profitable state.

Activity-based costing in restaurants
Activity based costing in restaurants

1. Introduction
Interest in cost and management accounting practices in the restaurant industry is rising (Raab et al.,
2009; Annaraud et al., 2008). Pavesic (1985) has initiated research in pricing and cost accounting for
restaurants, introducing the concept of profit factor
(PF) in menu engineering (ME). Prior studies, such as the one presented in Chan and
Au (1998) investigate the implications of not incorporating overhead costs in menu item profitability
analyses in restaurants in Hong Kong. Since then, a number of researchers have examined the
application of contemporary cost and management accounting techniques, and particularly activity
based costing (ABC) in a restaurant
environment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To this end Kaplan and Cooper (1998) suggest that service companies are ideal candidates for
ABC. One reason for this is that in the services industry a great percentage of total cost is labour
cost and processes are highly variant (Kostakis et al.,
2008). Studies have shown the possible use and potential benefits of ABC in the hotel industry
(Kostakis et al., 2011; Berts and Kock, 1995; Noone and Griffin, 1999).
New techniques assisting large scale ABC implementation have also been developed in recent years
(Kaplan and Anderson, 2004).

The restaurant industry is facing great challenges today, mainly due to the highly competitive
environment and the diverse needs of the customers. Restaurants have to achieve a balance between
serving these needs, and pricing their menu items to achieve adequate profitability levels (Raab et
al., 2009).Traditional costing systemsand simplistic pricing approaches were very popular within the
restaurant industry. Overhead cost and operating expenses were usually excluded and prices were a
function of food cost, as well as customer demand, historical prices and other factors. This method
has the evident disadvantage of leading to misleading information about individual menu items.

How Does Truman Capote Use Imagery In A Christmas Memory
In Truman Capote s short story A Christmas Memory imagery and symbolism are used by the
author to show that friendship has no age limit. Truman uses very vivid details and many
different types of figurative language to show his theme ,which is that friendship has no age. An
example of symbolism is, As if I expected to see, rather like hearts, a lost pair of kites hurrying
toward heaven (6). After getting the news of his friend s death, he goes outside and almost
expects to see kites. In this example of symbolism, the author shows us how deep a bond Buddy
and his friend have by showing us a glimpse of Buddy s mind and how his heart is going to heaven
with his friend. Furthermore, the author uses some imagery when he gives us a vivid description
