The Battle Of The American Buffalo Soldiers
Buffalo Soldiers
And when he gets to heaven, To St. Peter he will tell, Another soldier reporting sir, I ve served my
time in Hell. Unknown
No other quote can quite describe the Buffalo Soldiers more . The story of the American Buffalo
Soldiers is one of patriotism, honor, and the fight against racism. The first official all Black regiment
in the US army was the 1st Rhode Island Regiment and was established in July 1778. However,
African Americans had been fighting for America since before its conception. African Americans
continued fighting for the United States through the American Civil War and on through the
American Indian Wars of the West. There, they were christened Buffalo Soldiers by the Cheyenne
nation for their courage in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Known as one of the shortest and one of the most significant wars in American History, the
Spanish American War lasted from April to August 1898. In that short amount of time, it launched
the US into a world empire after acquiring all of Spain s western territories including Cuba, The
Philippines, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Spain had been experiencing problems within its colonies for
some time, so the United States assuming possession was viewed as a solution as opposed to an
invasion. In 1868, Carlos M. Céspedes began the Cuban independence movement. In 1887, the
Filipino national consciousness was awakened by a publication by José Rizal. Trouble continued to
stir until 1895 when Cubans began fighting for their independence. The revolution had begun.
United States President William McKinley wished to remain neutral on the subject and let Spain
settle its own disputes. As months went by, two main events would change the mindsets of
President McKinley and the American people. In February 1898, the US intercepted a letter from
the Spanish Ambassador to the King of Spain. The De Lome Letter as it would be named stated
that President McKinley was to weak to go to war with Spain. On February 9, William Randolph
Hearst published the letter in his newspaper The New York Journal. This letter combined with the
yellow journalism of Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer outraged American citizens.

Ambrose Bierce disappeared and there was no certain answer to what happened. This led to
theories and speculation. Some say he left a final letter saying he was going to an unknown
destination. But even this is speculation. Nearly everything about Bierce s final days is subject to
speculation, rumor, and debate. While some claim he ended his final letter with As to me, I leave
here tomorrow for an unknown destination, others debate the validity of the prophetic
pronouncement. Some claim he was killed by firing squad; others, that he committed suicide; and
still others, that he disappeared into another dimension. Paris Review Many things were
debatable as he didn t leave behind much evidence to what happened this explains all of these

theories. But, there is some new theories as to what happened that do have quite a bit of evidence
to support it. There is some new evidence on the disappearance of Ambrose Bierce A man in

Phantom Of The Opera Research Paper
Journal #1
In 1911, the book The Phantom of the Opera , written by Gaston Leroux, was published. In April
of 1929, Universal Studios premiered a silent, black and white film based on the book (The
Phantom of the Opera Website). The Phantom of the Opera went through many more stages until it
was able to become the Broadway musical that we know today. In 1930, dialogue and music was
added to the silent film and later in 1945, it was rewritten and produced in technicolor (The Phantom
of the Opera Website). In 1984, Andrew Lloyd Webbercame across a review of a stage adaption of
the book that was being produced in Stratford and he contacted Cameron Mackintosh about turning
it into a musical. Just a year later, a draft of the first act of the ... Show more content on

It is arguably the most popular musical of all time and for good reason(The Phantom of the
Opera Website). The Phantom of the Opera has been performed in many countries and continents
such as Africa, Australia, Japan, and Latin America, and over 130 million people have seen it
(The Phantom of the Opera Website). The musical has really beautiful music and I like that the
majority of the show is kind of a flashback and it s not really taking place in real time. That s not
very apparent throughout the show and it does not really impact it but I enjoy that it s different. I
also never noticed until I was rewatching the performance for this journal that the lot that the
chandelier is in at the start of the show is 666. I think that says a lot about the connotations of the
chandelier and what it was a part of. I really enjoy this show despite it not really being my type of
musical. I like that it is able to stand on it s own without a ton of flashy dance numbers. The
music is the thing that stands out the most. Opera has not been very popular in the last few
decades so I think that it is very impressive that a show called Phantom of the Opera was able to do
so well in the late 80 s and continues to do extremely well today. I cannot see the show closing
anytime soon on Broadway and I m not sure if
Differences Between Flirting And Romance
These stylistic differences are just the beginning of differences that a coach can explore with a
couple. Coaches should explore other areas such as love languages and unique individual traits with
their clients to help them make the right connection in their communication (Clinton et al., 2009;
Wright, n.d.). Flirting and Romance Finally, coaches should remind couples that flirting and
romance should go beyond the I do in their relationship (Frisby, 2009). According to Frisby (2009),
couples can use flirting and romance as a tool to provide assurances to their partner, create positive
encounters, and manage conflicts. Research shows that couples view attentive, or attention based
flirting, as a means to separate work from play and give assurances of the commitment to the
relationship (Frisby Booth Butterfield, 2012).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coaches should endeavor to help couples restore the joy in their marriage through this beautiful
gift from God. Coaches should encourage husbands to cultivate the desire that they have for their
wife and vice versa. The little things that are often left undone can make a profound difference
when they are all put together. Love looks for a way to express interest and commitment. Scripture
gives insight into the power of romance; a kiss can change the outlook of a whole day (Song of
Solomon 1:2). Gifts and compliments can stoke the fires of passion (Song of Solomon 1: 9:11). A
weekend getaway can communicate interest
How Does Sigmund Freud Use Defense Mechanisms
Sigmund Freud found that we use defence mechanisms to protect a person from anxiety arising from
unacceptable thoughts or feelings and these mechanisms are psychological strategies that are
unconsciously used. We use defence mechanisms to protect ourselves or because our id or superego
becomes too demanding. One defence mechanismis repression which is where the ego forces a
distressing memory out of the conscious mind so that we are no longer reminded of that situation.
The thoughts that are often repressed are those that would result in feelings of guilt from the
superego therefore they have been removed from the conscious mind so that the memories are no
longer causing regret. An example of repression is when an individual forgets the trauma

Comparing The Australian And Indonesian Economy
Transcript: Comparison of the Australian and Indonesian economy
Australian living standards are higher than Indonesia s, this is a result of Australia maintaining
higher economic performance through superior economic indicators. Australia s economic indicators
reflect a mature and relatively stable economic growth with a population 1/10th of Indonesia s, in
comparison, Indonesia s economy reflects a growing developing economy. Indonesia s economic
trends are improving at a rapid rate and if this trend continues, Indonesia could have in the mid to
long term superior economic growth and thus higher living standards than Australia. Particularly as
Indonesia has a young population to fuel this.
To determine living standards we must know what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Figure 2 it is evident that Indonesia s cost of living, as reflected by the CPI, has been
significantly deteriorating over the last 8 years. Although research argues that CPI may not be
an effective indicator of the cost of living for a developing country such as Indonesia (East Asia,
2015). In contrast measuring the percentage of a household budget that goes to food is could be a
good indicator. Since 2000, the percentage of household budget spent on food has declined,
meaning higher expenditure on discretionary goods and services. This indicates that Indonesia s
urban regions are getting richer faster than the impression expressed with the CPI (East Asia,
2015). This is also reflected in figure 1, as the significant increase of mobile phone subscriptions
is a good proxy of increased living standards as a mobile phone is a discretionary living cost. This
is a result of the Indonesian growth rate earning a higher level of surplus income to spend on more
luxury items.

equates to $364 Billion to
