Death And Dying, Death, And Death
Christopher Bullock had said it best in his work Cobler of Preston , Tis impossible to be sure of
any thing but Death and Taxes. (Shapiro, 2008)
Prior to Elisabeth Kübler Ross bestseller novel On Death and Dying, death was to be done alone.
Death was a taboo subject for society. Death is the end result of many different factors effecting the
body in a way it (the body) can t handle it any longer. Speaking in a medical light, there are two
types of death, clinical and biological.
When a patient s breathing and heartbeat stop, clinical death occurs. This condition may be
reversible through CPR and other treatments. However, when the brain cells die, biological death
occurs. This usually happens within 10 minutes of clinical death, and is not reversible. In fat,
brain cells will begin to die after 4 to 6 minutes without fresh oxygen supplied from air breathed in
and carried to the brain by circulating blood. Cardiovascular pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
consists of the actions you take to revive a person or at least temporarily prevent biological death
by keeping the person s heart and lungs working. (Limmer O Keefe, 2012, p. 1124)

The Kübler Ross model, or the five stages of grief, postulates, a series of emotions experienced by
terminally ill patients prior to death, wherein the five stages are denial, anger, bargaining,
depression, and acceptance. The model was first introduced by Swiss psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler
Ross in her 1969 book On Death and Dying,
Eating Low-Fat Diet Effects
Eating low fat diet is one of the most popular way to lose weight. Most of people think that
consuming low fat diet can help them lose their weight easily and good for their health. However,
low fat food is dangerous and has numerous negative effects, which can harm your health.
Furthermore, if you continue to consume low fat food, you will have a risk of facing many
diseases such as heart disease. Therefore, understanding negative effects of eating low fat diet is
very beneficial for people who want to lose weight properly. The initial negative effect from eating
low fat food is poor brain function. From the background knowledge, our brain is made up of fat
and requests fatty acids to let functions of the brain perform their tasks effectively,
A Comparison of Two Murderers
In the Edgar Allan Poe stories The Cask of Amontillado and The Tell Tale Heart the most prominent
and important themes that are used are death, logic, and irony. The characters of the narrator and
Montresor in these stories are both coldblooded murders that kill for selfish, and inane reasons who
firmly believe that their actions are justified even though their rationalizations only make sense in
their own minds. They both try to convince their audience that they are completely sane by giving
their explanations about why they did what they did as well as their motives for killing their victims.
In admitting how they murdered victims, who appear to be innocent to everyone besides them, they
only succeed in proving their insanity. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He knows that logically the only way lure Fortunado into the catacombs successfully is to make
him feel safe and then betray him at the last moment. When he lures Fortunado into the
catacombs he gives him many opportunities to get out of it but he does not suspect Montresor of
anything so he continues to trust him. There is also a considerable amount of irony in both of the
stories. The best example is when they try to convince the audience that they are completely sane
and that their actions are justified. The narrator tirelessly attempts to convince whoever he is
telling his story to that he is perfectly sane while recounting how he viciously murdered an old
man he claimed to love, chopped up his body, and hid him in the floorboards all because he didn t
like his vulture eye. While he believes that he is going to persuade his audience that he was in his
right mind, all he is doing his backing up the assumption that he is mentally ill and is in no way
sane. Montresor does not try as hard to make his listeners believe in his sanity. His victim,
Fortunado, as a character is also a good example of irony. His name, which translates to lucky ,
proves to be extremely ironic when he is the one that ends up being killed. He is given many hints
by Montresor as to what will happen to him as well as many opportunities to turn back but his ego
and competitiveness with his rival Luchresi ends up sealing his fate. He says in

Does Temperature Affects Fruit Juice
Research question
Does temperature affect the rate pectinase produces juice?

Introduction Fruit juices are popular among consumers as they contain many vital vitamins or

antioxidants. But before they go on the shelves, the factory has to produce them. One

of the earliest memories of my childhood has been juice. I remember waking up at the

crack of dawn early in the morning to go pick fresh apples from our apple tree in our

backyard to make fresh apple juice for breakfast with my grandmother. To this day, that

same recipe is still used today though my family. Seeing my grandmother boil the apple

slices over her old cooktop, made me wonder how factories produced apple juice at

such massive rates as I knew they weren t going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Errors

During trial one, the original funnel was too small. The applesauce was at the tip of the

funnel, causing liquid to overflow over the funnel, spilling. Another error in this

experiment was not specifying how cold to freeze the applesauce in the freezer.

Different temperatures could have affected the rate of liquid formed.

Conclusion
This experiment is a good representation of what goes on in fruit juice factories. Overall,

frozen applesauce did affect the pectinases rate of diffusion. This could be a cause of

the temperature in the applesauce, being too low, freezing the solution mixed with it.

Evaluation

The data presented is reliable. The minor errors shouldn t really have an effect on the

outcome of this experiment as the trials proved similar

Political Correctness in Oleanna Essay
Re read Act 2 from page 43 (JOHN and CAROL seated across the desk from each other.) to page
48 (CAROL: It s ludicrous... ?). Examine how Mamet presents political correctness in this extract
and elsewhere in the play.

Political correctness features prominently within the play. Political correctness was seen as a highly
controversial issue in the late 1980s to the early 1990s and was argued within a 1992 essay
collection, debating political correctness, that it was The most important discussion in American
education . This was perhaps due to the numerous amounts of opinions on whether or not political
correctness was right. Political correctness repressed people s abilities to freedom of speech and
therefore there were many differing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this does contrast to Mamet s view as he said about John and Carol that he thinks they
re both absolutely wrong, and they re both absolutely right . The idea of elitists always getting
their own way links to later on in the play, when John uses the expletives, bitch and cunt . It is
suggested that John is perhaps mocking Carol by using the expletives, as he is being politically
incorrect. While Carol tries to enforce political correctness, John dismisses it due to the hubris that
he holds, which in Greek Mythology, excessive arrogance was called hubris.

In the extract, it appears that John recognises the mistakes that he has made. However, he makes
no effort to change his ways, possibly due to the lack of control that he has over himself and his
lack of ability to change his ways, I don t mean to subject you to my weak sensibilities It doesn t
seem to be an apology from John, and therefore just a passing statement. This again reinforces his
lack of willing, to change. This links back to Act one, when John s use of declaratives and
pronouns portrays his confidence and control over Carol, Let s take the mysticism out of it, shall
we? Carol? Don t you think? . This lack of conforming to political correctness links to a speech that
president George Bush gave in 1991, where he spoke out against a movement which would declare
certain topics off limits . In the extract, John also comments, I find that I am sexist.
Analysis Of Marvin Gaye

Gaye managed to have three children: Nona Gaye, Marvin Gaye III and Frankie Gaye. Marvin, like
many other artist, struggled with heavy depression and drug use. Gaye s depression and drug use

The song was covered by many differents artist. For example, Diana Ross recorded the song in
1970 and was nominated for a Grammy for her rendition of the song. Gaye s version of Ain t No
Mountain High Enough, has a duration of 2:31 and has BPM of 130. This may sound like a low
BPM; however, think about one of today s celebrities and the low BPM s of songs. Just for
comparing purposes, Adele s hit record Water Under the Bridge only has a BPM of 95. So Gaye s
song is pretty fast compared to some of Adele s music. The instruments used in Ain t No Mountain
High Enough were the piano and the guitar. The original version was published in the key of B minor.
The lyrics to Ain t No Mountain High Enough are very easy to understand. Songs from the past,
especially R B/Soul songs, had a very smooth way of bluntly getting the point across without all
the puns or slang of today s music. The song is performed which such a classic touch of R B and
soul. Some say you can really feel the beauty of a song; R B/Soul is said to be addictive. After
one listen of Ain t No Mountain High Enough, you really crave more R B/Soul Music. However,
some people who are sticklers for grammar may be upset when they hear the double contraction
used in the song. Aint No... is used in the song multiple times and could be cringe worthy to
listeners who do not appreciate a double contraction. Personally, I believe the lyric Ain t No adds
that extra bit of flair needed in the song.
Analysis Of A Girl By Gardiner Harris Rape Of Girl
Everywhere around the world women and girls are terrorized, mistreated and victims of abuse,
rape, and assault. Sadly this kind of treatment towards women and girls is often very common in
Asian countries. The article by Gardiner Harris entitled, Rape of Girl, 5, Draws Focus to Child
Assault in India , talks about how an innocent five year old girl was raped, tortured and almost
killed in India. Harris wrote in the article that people demand stricter laws against sex crimes and
that there should be more protection for women. In Asia women tend to be less desirable, and are
treated with less respect than a man. Harris also claims that news reports are packed with stories
about heinous crimes and assaults against women (Gardiner Harris, 2013).... Show more content on

people who did this to me don t want women to be educated, they want us to be stupid things

Assault in India , because both articles talk about how girls and women in some Asian countries
are thought to be inferior to men, and can be terrorized or abused into doing what others want. This
article is very deviant, because a hate crime such as throwing acid on someone is never okay. It is
deviant to use violence to get what you want. A man throwing acid on a girl to keep her from going
school and being educated is very deviant. The Gender Conflict Theory applies to this article as
well, because a man threw acid on a girl to stop her from being

The Lasting Impact of the Great Depression in Canada 1929 1939

The Great Depression was a period in time where millions of Canadians had suffered from hunger,
unemployment, homelessness and an economic downfall. The horror of the Great Depression took
place in 1929 1939 and had lasted for a decade affecting millions of people worldwide. However,
Canada had been impacted the most. The lasting horror of the Great Depression resulted in
disastrous impacts on the economy. This was due to the Stock Market Crash, the construction of
useless relief camps to open job opportunities for men, and the lack of raw materials which
affected the lives of many farmers. With an economic downfall which gradually resulted in a
Stock Market Crash, millions of Canadians had suffered. Unemployment was one impact of the
economic downfall which had risen as people were dependent on stocks sold to make a living.
During the Great Depression, 30% of Canadians were unemployed and one in five Canadians
were depending on relief camps in order to get back to normal living conditions and to be capable
to obtain the basic needs of life due to unemployment (Struthers 4). Before the economic downfall
during the Great Depression, jobs related to the stock market included trade, financial advisors,
clerks, jobs in factories, industrial productions, investors and farmers were applicable. However,
after the Stock Market Crash, all of these jobs had
Essay On Mr Birling In An Inspector Calls
Throughout Act One of An Inspector Calls, the unremarkable setting and staging focus the audience
s attention on the characters, who form a microcosm of 1912 society. Priestley first introduces the
Birling family, and viewers quickly discover the unique attributes and opinions which will shape the
play s plot. Arguably the most striking character, Arthur Birling dominates the dialogue of the
opening scenes, as he brashly proclaims his capitalist views. His primary focuses, on ascending the
social ladder and running a financially successful business, are noticeably ignorant of others
wellbeing, establishing him as unlikable and disagreeable, which is only reinforced by his
increasingly grating remarks. Birling sees Eva Smith s suicide as unfortunate,... Show more content

She is constantly mindful of societal expectations, continually maintaining a façade of cordiality,
which means that affectionate comments often seem condescending. Priestley emphasises Sybil s
prejudice against her social inferiors as well as her distant parenting, portraying her as generally
unpleasant. In sharp contrast to her parents, Sheila evolves throughout Act One, transforming from
spoiled to conscientious with the guidance of Inspector Goole. Initially, she appears to be a
stereotypical high class young woman who shares the attitudes and characteristics of her parents,
but, upon realising her involvement in the plot, Sheila matures quickly, seeming genuinely upset and
repentant. In this way, Priestley indicates that she is a likable, compassionate person who the
audience can empathise with. Eric Birling seems perpetually uncomfortable amongst his family,
uneasily following in his father s footsteps but without the same conviction. By speaking at strange
times and stating discordant opinions with unapologetic emotion, Priestley conveys a continual
sense of awkwardness and confusion, which is only enhanced by frequent mentions of Eric s
drinking habits. One realises that he is more similar to his caring sister than his unsympathetic
parents, but finds his agitated restlessness hard to connect
