How I Learned Throughout The Semester And Why It Helped Me...
My journey through this semester was very knowledgeable and interesting experience. From
learning about musical techniques and applying it to my songwriting process, it helped me become a
better songwriter. Throughout this reflection, I want to discuss the things I learned throughout the
semester and why it helped my as a songwriter.
Before taking this course, I used to just sing my songs, but never used to write them down.
Throughout, the course I learned that it s important to work on your songs even if it s working
on part of it. Taking time to improve you songs is already a step forward. Starting from lesson
two, I learned the importance of having a strong premise. I found this very useful because then you
have an idea of what your song is going to be about. You start thinking of emotion and storyline you
want to write in the lyrics. For example, if you premise is about heartbreak, then the lyrics will be
about a relationship, with maybe a sad piano accompaniment. Another interesting thing I learned
about lesson two was the articles we read about techniques for finding ways to be inspired when
writing a song. The article that was very useful was Finding Inspiration. From this article, a
technique that I found useful was to write music about yourself or experiences. I found this to be a
common thing for songwriters, according to the book we read In their Own Words, which was very
interesting to read, I found that most of the famous songwriters, for example Dolly
Learning Disabilities And The Early Stages Of A Disability
Abstract
Learning disabilities are something a lot of people have to do it. It is a problem that affects
many people around the world, and causes a lot of frustration. This people will cover the general
definition of what other s ability is, and explain a little bit what it is. It will also go over some
myths that are prevalent when it comes to her and Billy s learning disabilities. It will cover the
criteria that needs to be met to receive the proper diagnosis and treatment for a child or young adult
with a learn disability. Warning sign and treatment will also be covered and given a more in depth
look into each of those topics.
Learning Disabilities
Learning disabilities are the most common disability. These disabilities are not like others, they
affect different people in different ways and have plenty of myths behind them. There is a criterion
that has to be met to receive the proper treatment and warning signs that can identify the early stages
of a disability.
Definition of Learning Disabilities
There have been many different definitions for what a learning disability is. These definitions fan
from books, to websites, to research papers, basically every and anything has its own definition for
what other disability is. LD Online states that a learning disability is a neurological disorder ( What
is a Learning, 2015). However, a Learning disability is much more than that. To put it in a much
easier way to understand, a learning disability results from a
Dangerous News Bias
During the recent 2016 presidential election, candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton could
be seen glorified on the television screens of an MSNBC segment. On the other hand, viewing Fox
News reveals a very noticeable conservative bias, favoring ideology from candidates like Donald
Trump, Ben Carson, and John Kasich. CNN, thought to be the most neutral of the three, is only
considered unbiased because it always has at least one conservative and one liberal pundits
reporting on an issue (Garcia). News media rarely provides information unbiasedly, there seems to
be some sort of political leaning to almost every news report. Although biased news allows for more
perspectives and grants more information to the audience, the extent to which... Show more content

An increase in watching biased news has lead to another negative effect: many viewers opinions
become much more polarized. MSNBC, whose own outlook on politics are typically more
liberal, project news in the context of their views. Since the media allows for easy access to this
news, their audience, with the same outlook, are thus not forced to challenge their way of thinking
(Friedman). Someone who watches the news can choose, and typically does, watch news that is
similar to what they believe. So even if someone argues, again, that they can just switch channels
to other news outlets, that project objective views, they go unsee. This leads to very opposite
political views that just become more polarized with more viewers, with the same ideology,
watching. The audience then only watch their side of politics and people become defensive over
which side is right and which side is wrong in terms of legislation and candidates for presidential or
congressional
Essenes Influence On Judaism
THE ESSENES The Essenes were a group of highly evolved spiritual beings to which Mary and
Joseph and Jesus and their family and friends belonged who were strict vegetarians, never drank any
alcohol, engaged in daily prayers and ritual ablutions, foretold the future, and were extremely
knowledgeable in the scriptures, and in charting the constellations and movement of the stars. The
Esseneslived harmoniously in Judea with the two other major sects within Judaismof the day: the
Pharisees and the Sadducees. However, the Essenes differed from the Pharisees and the Sadducees in
many significant ways:

(7) They interpreted the Torah the other scriptures in a spiritual and symbolic manner. They also had
secret writings of their own that would have been revealed to initiates at the appropriate time.
(8) In contrast to all of those around them, the Essenes held a universal, eclectic view of religion and
accepted the holy books and scriptures of other religions as different expressions of one divine
truth. (9) They prized celibacy, and they often observed celibacy even in marriage.
(10) Unlike any other social organization before or since, the Essenes considered men and women
to be absolutely equal in every respect and, in particular, men and women were considered to be
spiritual equals.

Ever thought about how World War II really started? It was really quite simple on how it started.
There were a lot of people who fought and lived or died in World War II. The oldest World War II
fighter is 110 years old, his name is Richard Arvine Overton. World War II made crucial impacts to
the whole world that were negative and changed people s lives. The battle of World War II was a
very difficult thing to go through. World War II began on September 1, 1939, when 1.5 million
German troops invaded Poland. (World War II) World War II made people leave their families
and go fight. It also got countries involved that originally weren t and don t need to be involved.
There were allies and there were Axis powers, allies helped other people and then there were
countries that just kept attacking others.(World War II) The war kept causing more damage and
harm but didn t force countries to join. The number of countries participating in the war on either
side increased over the course of the next two years to include virtually all the countries of the
world. (Canada Enters World War II) Impacts were made that changed the whole world... Show more

Essay about Canadian Morality and the Law
Canadian Morality and the Law
In legal theory, there is a great debate over whether or not law should be used to enforce morality.
The sides of the debate can be presented as a continuum. At one end, there is the libertarian view,
which holds that morality is an individual belief and that the state should not interfere in the affairs
of the individual. According to this view, a democracy cannot limit or enforce morality. At the other
end, there is the communitarian position, which justifies the community as a whole deciding what
moral values are, and hence justifies using the law to enforce community values. For libertarians,
judges should play a prominent role in limiting the state, while for communitarians, judges should ...

The collective agreement between the government and Mossap s union afford bereavement leave
only in the case of the death of Mossap s immediate family. Although this definition included a
common law spouse, it precluded members of the opposite sex. Mossap, who argued that he was
being unfairly discriminated against, filed a complaint with the Canadian Human Rights
Commission (CHRC). The CHRC agreed, and ordered that he be given bereavement leave and that
the collective agreement be restated to include persons of the same sex. The government appealed
this decision and the case was brought before the Supreme Court. The Supreme Could held that the
family status provision in the Canadian Human Rights Act (CHRA) was meant to uphold an implicit
legal interpretation which excluded homosexuals from anti discriminatory protection. In his
decision, Judge Lamer argued that the CHRA had been amended in 1983 to include the family status
provision, and if the CHRA had meant it to include homosexuals, they would have made it explicit
then. Instead, according to Lamer, Parliament (through the CHRA) had a clear intent to not extend
anyone protection from discrimination based on sexual orientation [354]. Since the legislature had
not willed it, Lamer did not feel it was appropriate to amend it. But the decision was not unanimous.
Judge L Heureux Dube, representing the voice of dissent, argued that the majority
Lynx Population Cycle
Global temperature increases and associated increases in precipitation in northern Nova Scotia
will likely have detrimental impacts on already threatened species. The Canadian Lynx
population is decreasing quickly due to human hunting for its fur and its habitats being destroyed
forcing them to continuously migrate north. They have evolved to thrive in snow cover and cold
temperatures with their large snowshoe like paws and thick fur, which gives them an advantage
to capture prey compared to other predators such as coyotes or bobcats ( Threats To Lynx 2012,
Hoving et al. 2003). The lynx is a specialist predator focusing on the snowshoe hare as its primary
source of food. The hare and the lynx have a very interconnected population cycle that lasts
roughly 10 years (Yan et al. 2013). Hares experience large fluctuations in their population cycle
based on a number of factors that influence the ecosystem. When hare populations are in decline, in
periods where nature must regenerate, the lynx population is also shown to decrease, and vice versa
with an approximate two year lag period for the lynx (( Lynx Snowshoe Hare Cycle | Environment

It is unclear the type of precipitation, but it is projected to be rain more that heavy snow. Because
these shrubs are close to the ground, they benefit from the snow because it interacts with their leaves
to insulate the plant as a kind of blanket protecting it from being trampled or subject to frostbite
(Buchner et al. 2013). Lastly, it is unclear whether increased precipitation would actually benefit
these plants because of the effects of extreme precipitation such as flooding and soil erosion that may
impact the ecosystem in which these plants grow. We hypothesize that these plants will likely
struggle to survive because they continue to migrate north to cooler temperatures, but those many

attention. Lorraine s mom was cheated on by Lorraine s dad, so now she thinks all men are like

All Lorraine wants to do is impress John because she has had a crush on him for a while.
Therefore she does what he wants her to do. Lorraine could have said that they shouldn t have
taken advantage of Mr. Pignati and taken the $10.00 from him, instead she went along with it and
still lied and said she was a charity. Lorraine could have prevented the party at Mr. Pignati s
house. John was the one who suggested it and Lorraine knew it was a bad choice but did it
anyway because John wanted to do it. In the future, John might do something risky and hurt
himself, and Lorraine won t stop him and she might even join in. Lorraine s craving for approval
will probably land her and John into trouble in the future. John might suggest something stupid but
Lorraine will go along with it. Especially after Mr. Pignati s dead John could do something

An Example Of Perseverance In Warriors Don T Cry
How many times in life have you struggled but got through a difficult time? That is called
perseverance. The definition of perseverance is Steadfastness in doing something despite
difficulty or delay in achieving success. Synonyms are persistence and determination. It
originated from the latin word perseverare. Right now the world has been filled with natural
disasters, from hurricanes to wildfires. Everyone that this affected has been forced to persevere
through it because there is not much that they have the ability to do besides staying strong. In all
of the nonfiction literature we have read there were many different examples of perseverance
from many different people. I decided to choose three. For my first example Melba Pattillo Beals
from Warriors Don t Cry . There is numerous examples of the Little Rock 9 and her doing
something despite difficulty. For the second example of perseverance I chose Maya Angelou.
Through her life there were countless times that she was faced adversity and still achieved
success. My third example is Earl Simmons (DMX) from the book E.A.R.L . He went through a
tough time at almost all time growing up and he never gave up and achieved success.
Perseverance creates success; therefore, when you stick through something you can accomplish
what you want. In the book Warriors Don t Cry Melba Pattillo Beals and the rest of the Little Rock
9 were faced with racism as they were trying to go to a all white school. They all had courage
Bernado Bertolucci s Last Tango In Paris
In Bernado Bertolucci s Last Tango in Paris, a recent widower, Paul (Marlon Brando) and a
younger woman, Jeanne (Maria Schieder) pursue a passionate love affair in which they don t
reveal each other s names. Although the affair initially seems like casual sex, it starts to deeply
affect them as Paul copes with the death of his wife, Rose, and Jeanne prepares to marry her fiancé,
Tom (Jean Pierre Leäud), a film director making a documentary about her. Through a painful
grieving process, Paul learns to trust and fall in loveagain. This seemingly pleasant change in Paul
is ultimately his demise, as Jeanne fatally shoots him in the chest. Bertolucci illustrates Paul s
socio psychological makeup from life to death by incorporating mise en scene, nondiegetic
elements, dark lighting, abrupt soundtrack, foils and doubles, and repeated motifs. Paul is an
extremely distant individual, so the narrative presents parts of Paul s past and present with the use
of nondiegetic elements and the unraveling motif. When Paul is first introduced, he is under a
train holding his ears screaming F***ing God! indicating he is in a lot of pain. Later Paul and a
maid are cleaning up Rose s blood in the bathroom. When Paul gazes out the window, he sees a
woman sewing near her lover s crotch as he plays the saxophone. This... Show more content on

Marcel serves as Paul s double. Bertolucci suggests this when Marcel and Paul are wearing the same
plaid robe and have the same haircut when Paul visits Marcel s apartment . Also, only the right side
of Marcel s face is lit up and only the left side of Paul s face is visible, indicating that their two half
faces compose the same person. Fed up with Marcel s egotism, Paul walks out of the apartment and
says, I don t know what she ever saw in you. Seeing as Marcel is Paul s double, this line expresses
Paul s self hatred and guilt of his crumbled marriage. (Need a nice witty concluding
