Zoroaster is the name by which the West knows the prophet of ancient Persia, more correctly
called Zarathushtra. It was usual to date him about 600 bce, but the evidence of language is
persuading more scholars nowadays to date him about 1200 bce, which means he lived when Persia
was emerging from the Stone Age, and would make him the first of the great prophets of the world
s religions. (Partridge Kindle Page 1989) In thisquote from the text we can find that Zoroaster as a

In this we can see that this religion s base can be found in positivity, they are centered around doing
and saying things for the right reasons, moral reasons.

man s positive choices, evil will be eradicated and God s Paradise on Earth will be established.

thoughts one can grant themselves a place in paradise on earth.

From the BBC Website give 5 ideas that modern religions have in common with Zoroastrianism It
is generally accepted that in the Abrahamic religions, the concepts of Heaven and Hell, as well as
the Devil, were heavily influenced by Zoroastrian belief. (BBC) Because Zoroastrianism is an older
religion than Christianity, a relation can be made from both having a heaven , and a hell , and also

How the Media Changes People’s Attitudes Towards Mental...
The media, which consists of television, radio and the newspaper, is referred to as a form of
communication. It is thought as the most powerful tool of communication due to the fact that it is
able to present information at any time either promoting it in a positive or negative light. The
media is also known for presenting fake news, however due to the fact that they are
communicating to the masses the majority of news is believed if from a reliable source.
Newspaper companies such as The Sun and The Daily Mail pay extortionate prices in order to
obtain front page stories from paparazzi so they can publish them in their papers resulting more
profit for the companies as more individuals buy the papers. The media are able to shape the... Show

Another negative portrayal of mental illnesses within the media would be the celebrity Britney Spears
. Over the years it has been suggested that the global pop icon suffers from a wide range of mental
illnesses, from Bipolar Disorder and Manic Depression to Borderline Personality Disorder and even
Postpartum Psychosis. Britney Spears has been subjected to media humilation following a string of
divorces which lead to her Bipolar being triggered. Bipolar, which is known in the past as manic
depression, is a condition that affects your moods, which can swing from one extreme to another (2)
does not have a known cause however it is though that a trigger could impact the individual.
In early January of 2007 Britney Spears s aunt died of cancer, this could have been the trigger to
Britney s mental illnesses as just one month later she drastically shaved her head and was then
forced into rehab a week later by her family. However, after spending under 24 hours in rehab she
checked herself out. The next year was filled with tragedy. She was involved in car accidents,
missed court dates, and lost custody of her children. In 2008, Britney locked herself in the bathroom
of her home with her small children, refusing to come out. It shifted into a police standoff with full
media attention. Eventually, Britney was carried out of the home on a stretcher and taken to Cedars

Lifeboat Ethics By Garret Hardin And A Modest Proposal By...
Lifeboat ethics by Garret Hardin and a modest proposal by Jonathan Swift Garrett Hardin in
Lifeboat Ethics: The Case against the Poor Garrett Hardin describes about how the well off states
are in the lifeboat and the deprived states are swimming in the sea. He also tells about how the US
facilitates other states. Hardin thinks that if the administration remains serving other states and
letting citizens in then America will also sink. We must encourage them if we desire to save at
least part of the world form ecological destroy. Why should I support the deprived states? Why
should I let the migrants in? I notice no reason for serving somebody that is not an American.
These non American care taking my diligent assets that they did not produce. I am exhausted of
the USA giving my funds to the deprived states. The administration is giving these people my
funds. By letting these people on our lifeboat the administration is sinking us all. If we do let an
additional 10 people in our lifeboat, we will have misplaced our security aspect, an engineering
code of value. I cannot acquire opportunity in serving people if it is going to put me in threat.
Instead of giving the funds to non Americans it should be utilized just in America. The funds utilized
to facilitate the inferior states can be very helpful in the US. The traditional people work had for
their money. The administration supports deprived families with housing, food, education and
different things. The well off have more
Mary E. Richmond ( 1861-1921 )
As a person who aided in the construction of the social work profession, Mary E. Richmond (1861
1921) is best known for her role in the development of casework practice. Her studies helped build
the foundation of direct assessment. In conjunction with her studies, she is also remembered for her
remarkable ability to perform research and teach communities about the topics of social work. One of
her most notable achievements is her representation of the modern idea of client in environment ,
which she labeled the social diagnosis . During her time, Mary was a key player in focusing the
transition from charity work to social work (Szymoniak, 2015). Mary founded the Pennsylvania
Child Labor Committee, the juvenile court, the Housing Association and the Public Charities
Association (NASW, 2004). She is also the author of numerous publications that illustrate the
importance of social work, and social practice.
Early Years The Social Welfare History Project (2004) gave great insight into May s early life.
Like the majority of the clients she worked with, Mary also came from a tumultuous past. Mary
was born in Illinois in a town called Belleville. After the death of her parents at a young age, Mary
was sent to live with her maternal grandmother in Baltimore, Maryland. It was upon this relocation
that Mary developed a deeper understanding for social engagement, and social practice. The Social
Welfare History Project described Mary s grandmother was an active voice in the women s
A Brief History of the NNC in the Philippines
Nutrition is not only a science... it is governance, it is politics. It is finance, it is labor and
employment.
Assistant Secretary Maria Bernardita T. Flores, CESO II, Executive Director IV

Nutrition History in the Making

Rising from the ashes after World War II, the Philippines was a picture of great despair. Cities and
towns had been burned down, farms and factories laid to waste, roads and bridges destroyed, and
thousands of people massacred. Those who survived the war were forced to put up with hunger and
severe malnutrition as food was devastatingly scarce.

In March 1947, under the Manuel Roxas regime, the Philippine Institute of Nutrition (PIN) was
created in an attempt to institutionalize a national nutrition program. This marked the country s first
step at organized efforts for nutrition. However, coordination proved to be rather limited and
rudimentary, and the implementation of nutrition programs was sporadic at best. Approaches to
problems related to nutrition were short lived and more curative rather than preventive.

PIN was later reorganized under the Carlos P. Garcia administration into the Food and Nutrition
Research Center (NFRC) in 1958, and nutrition related activities coordinated by this Center were
done under the National Science and Development Board (NSDB). With the aid of innovations in
research and technology, nutritional problems in the country were met with a more multisectoral
approach.

A Short Note On Ct Dose Calculation ( Ct )
iSAP CT Dose Calculation

Introduction:
The role of computed tomography (CT) in imaging has risen substantially in the previous decade
(Hess et al. 2014). With its increasing demand, one of the most predominant concerns for radiation
workers is the dose administered to the patient (Hess et al. 2014). Therefore, the calculation of dose
is a parameter that must be monitored closely.

Task 1:

Exposure
Exposure is the amount of electrical charge produced by ionising radiation per unit mass of air. It is
measured in Coulomb per kilogram C kg 1, where its former unit was Roentgen (Schoepf 2005).

Absorbed dose
The absorbed dose is the energy (joules) deposited by ionising radiation per unit mass of material in
kilograms, as a result of exposure to ionising radiation. The absorbed dose is therefore measured in J
/kg or gray (Gy) where 1Gy = 1J/kg. The absorbed dose is calculated by multiplying exposure with
W, where W is the conversion factor from exposure to absorbed dose depending on the absorbing
medium (Siegel 2008).

Equivalent dose
The absorbed dose is a poor indicator of the likely biological effect, as the biological effect of the
same absorbed dose will depend on the type of radiation. This is because the linear energy transfer
of radiations that produce dense ionisation tracks cause more biological damage per unit dose than
low linear energy transfer radiations, and thus must have higher radiation weighting factors.
Therefore, the equivalent dose (HT) is measured
Bearded Capuchin Body Structure
Phylum Chordata: Sapajus apella body structure, covering Bearded capuchins have forward facing
eyes meaning they obtain binocular vision. These primates as other anthropoids and huans have
stronger bones above the eye socket which creates less strain for chewing foods, allowing more
time for the carbohydrate digestive enzymes to continue break down foods. The skull of the
capuchin is large and domed to protect the brain. The capuchins four limbs contain 5 digits for each,
i.e. fingers and toes. they have opposable thumbs and short fingernails as they are foragers and have
developed bipedalism, moving with a bent hip and knee posture. Tufted or bearded Capuchins
generally have fine hair with the keratin protein, close in colouration to their... Show more content on

Another likely possibility is that a single rafting event resulted in a transoceanic colonization due
to continental drift. Bearded capuchins are classified as robust capuchins one of the 2
classifications. The other being gracile which are monkeys with long limbs in relative size to their
torso. It is theorized that the formation of the Amazon River led to the separation between robust
and gracile capuchins. The advantage that the robust monkeys have over the gracile monkeys is
that in adapting robust forms due to environmental changes, their physiological structure has
allowed them to be able to exploit the hard nuts of unripe palm fruit and unripe fruits. Robust
capuchins, particularly wild bearded capuchins are noted for their ability to adapt to less nutrient
rich, diversely vegetated areas by adopting bipedalism. This was necessary in developing tool use
by using hard, rigid stones to crack open palm nuts. The evolution of bipedal locomotion in
bearded capuchins meant an increase in metabolic functions as muscle became leaner and indistinct
and an increased blood supply to the lower limbs. The evolutionary advantage to bipedalism was
largely the ability to carry larger loads, and larger stones, as the organisms did not have to exert as
much energy as the species evolved
Death And The King s Horseman Analysis

ENG 239
28 September 2017
Prompt 1
In Wole Soyinka s play, Death and the King s Horseman, the English presence in Nigeria is well
established. As each scene goes by the audience can feel European colonialism lurking heavily in the
background. With this English influence on the Yoruba people the community is swept with
unsteadiness and conflict. The dominant events in Soyinka s play symbolize a larger conflict;
although the English believe they are shedding light and bringing progress to the Nigerians, the
Nigerians don t welcome these foreigners and only wish to continue their cultural ways in peace.
Soyinka argues that although the English believe what they are doing is necessary, they are the ones
who are intruding on someone else s culture and they should respect that, no matter how uncivilized
or odd it may seem.
Not accepting and misunderstanding one another s culture is a leading conflict in this play. The
Yoruba community has very different beliefs on death compared to the English. When speaking of
death, Elesin states: When the hour comes watch me dance along the narrowing path gazed by the
soles of my great precursors. My soul is eager (Soyinka, 10). In contrast, Jane believes that this view
is nonsense. Life should never be thrown away deliberately (Soyinka, 42) The Yoruba community
celebrates death and welcomes the afterlife. While the English fear death. This misunderstanding and
lack of acceptance of cultural differences leads Pilkings to act on what he thinks is best, when it is
not what is best for the community.
Throughout the novel the Yoruba culture continually is disrespected by the colonists who invade
their community. In the play Pilkings and his wife Jane are dressed in egungun costumes which
they confiscated from cult leaders. Amusa pleads with Pilkings and Jane to take them off. They
respond saying You don t believe this nonsense do you? I thought you were a good Muslim. (
Soyinka, 19) Jane and Pilkings are surprised that Amusa can still respect the Yoruba culture while
believing in something different. Amusa can t stand it any longer and leaves saying I treat egungun
with respect before running off ( Soyinka, 20). Amusa represents what Soyinka is
