Criminals Use Of Social Media
Criminals Use of Social Media STUDENT NAME: Stephani Santiago STUDENT
NUMBER:13015903 1A COURSE NAME:Research Methods in Criminal Justice and Statistics
COURSE CODE:CJBS 250.02 SEMESTER:Spring 2015 PROFESSOR:dr. Lieselot Bisschop
Word count: 2837 Introduction In the world according to the population clock there are about 7.2
billion people on Earth, and about 320 million people in the United States. Social media has
grown and spread drastically around the world, media sites like Facebook (1.3 billion) users,
Instagram (300 million) users, and Twitter (288 million) users, will be the main networks that
will be focus on for this research. This research proposal will discuss criminals use of social
media. The main question of the research is : Is it safe to post and interact with social media
without worrying about being targeted? The aim of this research is explanatory because more
information is needed to fully understand why this is happening. The research will reveal crimes
that had occurred during use of social media. Why do these crimes occur? what influences
criminals to do these types of crimes? The following crimes like burglary, cyberstalking, phishing,
social engineering, malware, and spyware. Looking at location on photos or status to find someones
location, identity theft, cat fishing, and cyber bullying have been linked to social media. I will also
focus on the victims who have suffered from these crimes with the use of surveys and
Invention Of Dynamite
Dynamite has helped humanity out for years in good way and negative ways as well. We haven t
really payed much attention on how useful has been to us. Dynamite is a high explosive consisting
of nitroglycerine mixed with an absorbent material and typically adding groups (from nitric acid) to
toluene. At low temperatures, the mono nitrotoluenes are made, and as the reaction temperature is
increased, the dynatron compounds are formed, until eventually TNT is formed.
Who invented dynamite? The creator of dynamite was Alfred Nobel. He was born October 21,
1883, in Stockholm Sweden. He was Swedish and had four siblings. He lived with both his parents.
One of his famous quotes was, If I have a thousand ideas and only one turns out to be good, I am
satisfied. He was a Swedish chemist, engineer, inventor, businessman and a philanthropist.
Why was dynamite made? One possible reason for Swedish engineer Alfred Nobel s invention of
dynamite was the safety of construction work and blasting rock in the mid 1800s. Nobel helped
build bridges in Stockholm. Nitroglycerine was used in the detonation of rock, and it was a
relatively unsafe method. According to the Nobel Prize Organization, Alfred Nobel s brother Emil
was killed in a nitroglycerine explosion. He wanted to make sure no one was hurt because of
dangerous explosions in work. He knew construction would always be hard work and dangerous to
destroy buildings by hand, so he needed something faster and more
Importance Of The Magna Carta
The Magna Carta The Magna Carta is one of the most important documents in history. The Magna
Carta is the foundation of our protection. King John was oppressing his people, because he
believed he owned them by a divine right they were his people. The Magna Carta proved that the
King had to respect his subjects rights. Before the Magna Cartawas signed the citizens, barons, and
even lords could not stand up for themselves! This was because the king had all the power. The
Magna Carta is so important because it is the basis of our current Constitution and Bill of rights.
Without this document we would have no protection of personal rights and freedom. In order to
finance his war with France, King John heavily taxed his citizens. King John lost the war with
France, even with the money that he got from the subjects. The Barons rebelled against King John.
In 1202 at Mirebeau King John captured many of his leading enemies. The prize was King John s
15 year old nephew, a claimant to the English throne and an ally to King Philip. King John happily
wrote a letter home that he got the lot . When King Philip launched a full out invasion of Normandy
and Anjou, King John noticed that he had fewer allies on the ground in support than he would have
liked. He didn t do much to rally his forces and instead left Normandy to return to England
(Cawthorne).
In 1215 the Barons rebelled against King John. The Barons rebelled for three main reasons,
including the lack of trust between the King and the Barons, how King John overtaxed the
Barons, and King John did not ask for their advice. Good kings should always ask for the Barons
advice. Instead, King John preferred the advice of foreign advisors. This annoyed the Barons and
they chose not to abide by the king. When King John asked for the Barons to provide an army for
him to win back his land, they refused. King John started to increase taxes so he could buy an army
to win back his land, again, not consulting the Barons before doing so. In 1213, King John taxed so
much money that half the coins in England were his to spend. (antiessays.com karmenjerath)
The king believed he owned everything he was absolute, ruler by divine right. The Barons were not
History of Biblical Angels
History of Biblical Angels Throughout history, you will find many religions discuss angels. But
what is an angel? Is it a mythical creature with wings sent to protect you? Some may think so;
others have different thoughts on the matter. But when did talk of angels first occur? Have they
always been around? In this paper, I will attempt to define what an angel is and what they do. I
will also discuss how angels differ between religions, as well as try to pinpoint the origin of
angels. I will explain the similarities and differences between these religions and their ideas of
angels. The term angel is derived from the Greek word angelos , meaning messenger. This word
represents an earlier Hebrew word, mal akh that is also interpreted as the role of messenger or
minister. It is safe to say that many people will regard angels as messengers between Heaven and
earth. In many biblical stories, angels are sending messages. Some messages are announcements of
birth like the ones that were sent to Abraham and to Samson s father. Other messages encourage
actions as the ones did to Elijah and David. In these cases, angels were bringing messages from the
divine world, or Heaven, to men and women in the earthly humanworld. It is believed that the
messages with angels also work in the reversed sense as well; meaning from human being to angel
to God. It is said that the soul speaks to the angel, the angel to the cherub, the cherub to God. This
type of communication would explain the
Fundamentals Of Ssl Certificates And Certificate...
The Fundamentals of SSL Certificates and Certificate Authorities (CA) By adding an SSL
certificate, Experts Exchange members not only protect their business but also increase customer
confidence by safely encrypting their customers most sensitive data. For online transactions, an
SSL certificate turns sensitive data into encrypted secure code. The web browser then checks the
SSL certificate to make sure that the website is legitimate. Once verified, the web browser and
server processes the encoded information. This helps to ensure that the sensitive data delivered
between the web browser and server is handled safely, securely, and that the website is PCI
(Payment Card Industry) compliant. Certificate Authorities (CA) play an integral role in the entire
SSL process because they re the ones issuing these digital certificates. In essence, digital certificates,
such as an SSL, are small verifiable data files containing identity credentials that help authenticate
the online identity of people, websites, and devices. Each digital certificate includes valuable
information like the expiration date of the certificate, the owner s name and other important
information, along with a public key a value provided by some designated authority as an encryption
key. As a trusted entity issuing these digital certificates, the CA must meet strict and detailed criteria
before being accepted as a member. Once accepted, the CA is authorized to distribute SSL
certificates. The longer the
Designing A Remake Centric Film Festival From A Project Essay
Research
I got the idea to create a remake centric film festival from a project I did in another film class. In
that class, my group and I decided to do a presentation on horror film remakes. While trying to
decide on while two films to talk about, I found that a multitude of horror films had been remade. I
continued looking up films that had been remade and eventually made it through the lengthy list of
horror films, and found other genres that have had remakes. Once I found enough content to pad out
a film line up, I settled on remakes as my theme and began my research on the actual film festival
aspect.
After seeing that the list of film remakes was dominated by the horror genre, I decided that T2
would not be another horror fest. I tried to select films from a broad range of genres, all while
making sure that the horror genre was well represented. I was astonished that the fourth horror film
ever made was a remake of the first horror film ever made (Follows, The Scale of Hollywood
Remakes and Reboots ), Georges Méliès 1896 Le Manoir du diable, was remade into The Haunted
Castle in 1897 by George Albert Smith. Horror is the most commonly remade genre because
societal fears have evolved over time, and though the stories remain the same, the scare tactics are
rejuvenated to be more effective.
The production/success of remakes has declined over the past decade (Follows, The Scale of
Hollywood Remakes and Reboots ), but it appears that remakes are set to make a
Old Yeller Analysis
Old Yeller is a coming of age novel set in 1860s Texas that details the relationship between the
Coates family, especially the 14 year old son, Travis, and a stray dog named Old Yeller. The dog is
named both for his dingy yellow coat ( yeller as pronounced in the southern accent that permeates
the narrative) and his bark, which sounds more like a yell than the standard animal call. Yeller
comes into the Coates familys life after Jim, the father of the family, leaves on a cattle drive to
Kansas. Before he leaves, Jim tells Travis that he is now the man of the house until he returns
home, a designation which motivates Travis to take responsibility and make sacrifices for the
good of his family. If Travis can prove himself worthy of the designation of being a man, his father
promises to give him a man s horse.
Although the Coates family is at the center of the narrative, it is Travis relationship with Yeller that
is the focus. When Yeller is first introduced, Travis not only finds him to be a nuisance but actively
despises him. The first time the dog is seen by Travis and the reader is the day after Jim has left the
family. Yeller has devoured a piece of meat that the family was about to prepare for a meal. Yeller
continues to cause trouble, with only younger brother Arliss devotion to him keeping Travis from
pushing him away from the household.
Travis changes his stance only after Yeller displays his singular heroism and instinct. Arliss, for

A Rhetorical Analysis Of The Collective Wisdom By Herbert...
In The Collective Wisdom , Herbert Spencer passionately refutes several of the House of Commons
reasons to oppose the Cheltenham Water Bill. Spencer makes clear points concerning the logical
fallacies that the House of Commons based their decision on. This fully convinced the audience of
the logic behind his position. Spencer first points out the logical fallacies in the Times paragraph.
This paragraph stated, such a measure, if carried out, will diminish the water of that noble river a
million gallons per day. At first glance, this is quite an alarming statement to the public and the
members of the House of Commons. However, Spencer clarifies this statement through a
comparison. He states that, The simple fact is that the current of the Thames, above the point at
which the tides influence it, discharge in twenty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was stated in the House of Commons that, the proportion of sewage to pure water would be
seriously increased if surrounding towns were allowed to tap into the springs. Spencer clarifies
this claim through his use of an additional logical comparison. Spencer states, Taking a minute out
of twelve hours would be taking as large a proportion as the Cheltenham people with to take from
the Thames. This time comparison puts the lack of a problem into perspective. Moreover, Spencer
is able to look at the situation with a logical view instead of only stating direct facts. A further error
pointed out and corrected by Spencer is this quote from the House of Commons, stating that to let
the Cheltenham have this quantity would be to rob the towns along the banks of the Thames of
their rights. Spencer is able to refute this assertion by pointing out that 999 parts of the Thames out
of 1,000 pass by unused. Therefore, it is clear that the proportion of sewage in the Thames is
minuscule. Finally, Spencer is able to display that the report falsely exhibits
The Mind-Body Connection

The Mind Body Connection

Overview
The mind body connection can be seen as a point of balance between one s mind and their body; it
is the point at which the mind and the body are at equilibrium. There should be a comprehensive
approach for both mind and body. This reciprocal relationship maximizes health benefits, and has
exponentially positive consequences beyond the individual. ( Mind body connection attained, 2012)
When one can achieve this connection, they can then attain true happiness far greater than others;
there are disciplines that one can train in in order to achieve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Philosophical Perspective The mind body connection alludes to the affinity between the mind
and body, specifically in matters of health and well being. It is founded on the notion that an
individual s thoughts and emotions affect the body, as do social and behavioral factors. A strong
and healthy body is believed to have a positive effect on the mind, and a positive mind
correspondingly allows for a healthy strong body (Clarke, 2001). A philosophical perspective of the
mind and body affiliation provides added insight into the various schools of thought regarding the
ways in which our minds and our bodies interact. While some dualist based philosophies suggest that
the mind is an entity completely independent of the body and vice versa, monoist viewpoints
propose that the mind and the body are a part of a single being and thus function as one unit
accomplishing different objectives. One such stance is the philosophical theory of behaviorism,
which holds that being in a mental state is the same as being in a physical state. In other words,
since all that we can know about another person s state of mind is through their behavior, there is
nothing else (Gatis, 2003). Thus the way one thinks has a direct impact on the way the body
functions. For example, if an individual were to say, I am
Minimum Wage And The Wage
What is minimum wage? It is the lowest amount that employers must pay their workers per hour of
their labor, legally prescribed by federal government. According to Bureau of Labor Statics, United
States Department of Labor, minimum wage was first introduced in United States by President
Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1938 called Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA). The initial minimum
wagewas set to $0.25 per hour in 1938 (Grossman). The minimum wagewas increased twenty two
times from 1938 to 2009. At present, the federal minimum wage has not changed since 2009, and
is fixed at $ 7.25 (U.S Department of Labor). The raise of minimum wage becomes a controversial
topic among citizen, some people are in favor of raising the minimum wage, while... Show more

Same as, increase to $10.10 would lift 900,000 people out poverty (Pro. Con). An approximate of
3.6 million (4.7%) of people among the whole population in United States earn federal minimum
wage. President Obama wanted to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 because
increase wage helps 900,000 families to pull out from the poverty line (Gray 40). One economic
professor, Bradley R. Schiller states that majority of young minimum wage workers are attending
the school. Thus, they are in the work force for very short period (summer vacations, winter
vacations). If minimum wage is increase, they can earn more money from the part time job
(624). Richard Johnson, president of Associated Merchant in Nashville said, I am for higher
minimum wage. There is no rational reason why our society should allow some people to earn
enough to own five mansions while those who pick up their garbage can t even afford a small
house. Picking fruit and picking up garbage is hard work, why should not someone who is willing
to do that be rewarded with enough income to enjoy decent lifestyle? (Business for a Fair Minimum
Wage 77)
In addition, increase in minimum wage increases the number of worker and decreases the employee
turnover rate. Chad Halverson writes employee who work on higher minimum wage feel more
comfortable and satisfied in their jobs. Due to this reason, there will be less chance to quit the job.

Native American Indian Baskets
A Northeast Indian basket was traditionally made out of pounded ash splints or braided
sweetgrass. Northern Indian tribes like the Ojibwe and Dene craft birch bark baskets. Also the
Inuit even makes whale baleen baskets. The original diversity of Native American basket styles is
still very much evident today. Native American Indian Baskets range from very simple to elaborate
and colorful works of art that took great skill to make. These baskets also involves secret techniques
that have been past down from generation to generation. Many Northeast Indians used sweet grass
and mostly anything could be used in basketweaving as long as it was bendable and could form a
shape. Pitch ( which comes from Pine Trees ), was commonly used inside the baskets
