How To Farm A Better Fish Analysis
How to Farm a Better Fish by Joel K. Bourne, Jr. was published in National Geographic s June,
2014 edition magazine. This particular article characterizes the differences between the various
types of aquaculture, as well as what species to feed and the ingredients that make up the food
given. The reporter who composed this editorial informed the reader of the advantages and
downfalls of an indoor fishtank vs. an outdoor fish pen. The reporter pointed out the numerous ways
an aquacultural company may feed their harvest of fish. He even explained that some fish farms
have a whole ecosystem of aquatic animals and plants that they feed instead, to supply the whole
food chain with enough nutrients. This is a rather important article because... Show more content on

The writer introduced us to Bill Martin, the president of Blue Ridge Aquaculture, located in Virginia.
His company owns the largest indoor aquacultural farm in the world. Martin has over twelve
thousand pounds of tilapia, a common freshwater fish largely enjoyed in America by seafood
lovers everywhere. Using this indoor fish farming company as an example, the writer describes
how Martin keeps the water the fish live in clean and healthy. Blue Ridge Aquaculture has a
massive water treatment system that pumps half a million gallons of water from their own,
personal underground aquifer. Powered by a large supply of coal, eighty five percent of the
water fish swim in is rotated throughout the treatment system, while the rest is sent to a local
sewage plant, soon after proceeding to the nearest landfill. When interviewed, Bill Martin states
that his fish are happy living in his company s indoor fish tank. One may interpret a fish s feelings
by how healthy it is. A dead fish is clearly unhappy, while a live one is. Martin tops it all off by
saying he hasn t had a single tank of tilapia completely die out yet. By looking at Martin s
dialogue, anyone can see that he is proud of his company, and believes it to be the best aquacultural
farm ever. Take in mind that indoor fish tanks have no waste impact on the oceans since it is a one
hundred percent controlled faculty. However, in order to obtain a large enough area to create an
indoor tank used for holding a very substantial amount of fish, the company has to mow down the
natural landmarks and terrain around that place. For example, thousands tropical mangroves were
bulldozed over to support the aquacultural evolution in the 1980 s, resulting in colossal habitat
destruction. It is equally important to know that just because the fish aren t dying in their tanks
doesn t mean they live in the best environment. Indoor
Suffering In Hamlet

In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare the tragic figure Claudius bring suffering to others as a
result of his actions As a result of Claudius s actions in the play the behaviors contribute to the

Drug Addiction In Nevada
Drug addiction is growing by the day and has affected the lives of countless people who once led
a normal, healthy life. Almost 24% men while 16% percent of women in America have admitted
to abusing at least one type of drug if not all and the number of teenagers abusing drugs is on the
rise. The drug situation in Nevada is grim and the imported and locally produced meth leads the
list of drugs that concern Nevada. In the urban parts of the state, cocaine especially crack cocaine
is being abused on a large scale while clubs drugs have become a regular feature of number of
nightclubs out there. Its close proximity to California makes it an important transshipment point for
smuggling drugs, which is why drugs are available in abundance in Nevada.
Almost all addicts love to believe that they can easily control their addiction however this is not true,
as they suffer from severe withdrawal symptoms when they give up or reduce the frequency of drug
use. Addiction causes substantial changes in the brain that remain for a long time even when a
person stops abusing drugs. As a result, addicts need much more than will power to overcome their
addiction. For complete recovery, addicts not only need to fight the cravings, but also learn to resist
all those stimulants from the past that can take them back to where they started. Nevada has number

While she was there, she knew that her educational opportunities were not equal as the whites at
Central High. In response to the inequality she decided to transfer to Central High with eight other
black students from Horace Mann High School. Beals has so many achievements. She went on to
graduate high school and college majoring in journalism. She was also awarded the Spingarn
Medal by the NAACP in nineteen fifty eight. Melba Pattillo Beals faced some challenges in her
life. One challenge she faced was getting things threw at her and the rest of the Little Rock Nine.
Another thing she faced was being yelled at while going to school. Her and the rest of the Little
Rock Nine also had to deal with being threatened. It got so bad that they even had to get military
escort to school so that nothing bad happened to them while going to school. While in school they

Why Do You Want To Participate In The Ironbound Initiative...
I am currently a member and the treasurer for the Ironbound Initiative. I am also involved with the
Patient Partnership program as a First Year representative and am the director for the Mini Med
Program at NJMS. In addition, I am a member of the All E.A.R.S Program at NJMS and I sing in
the Vocal Chords Acapella Group.
2.Why do you want to participate in this global health trip? What are your goals, both personally
and for the two week trip as well as after the trip?
Through my participation in the Ironbound Initiative I have come to recognize the significant health
disparities and lack of access to care in the Portuguese and Brazilian communities in New Jersey.
Therefore, I hope that through this trip I will gain experiences and ... Show more content on

What do you think will be your greatest challenge?
On this trip, I anticipate communicating with people of a different culture may be a challenge.
Although I do not speak Brazilian Portuguese, I know that we will have a bilingual interpreter with
us as well as NJMS students who speak both languages and thus, I know that the language barrier
will not be a big challenge. More than the language, I want to be contentious on this trip regarding
acknowledging my privileges and that I need to understand the Brazilian approach to medicine in the
context of their culture as well as the resources available to them. Furthermore, I understand that I
have limited knowledge and skills as a first year medical student and so can only provide basic
medical services at this time. Therefore, I am most apprehensive about effectively understanding and
communicating with the Brazilian community and recognizing that currently I am only able to
provide a limited amount of aid to these communities.
4.How do you plan on financially supporting this endeavor? (Are you willing to fundraise as a
team, as well as apply to the available scholarships?)
I fully intend to apply to any available scholarships in order to fund this trip. I am also looking
forward to working with other students going on this trip in order to organize fundraisers such as
bake sales and raffles. I also intend to start a GoFundMe page as well as seek out local businesses for
sponsorship. Finally,
Issues At Roberts Cellars Company
Winery company has faced some issues in which that has affected their business. Thank you for
having us as mentors to review the issues at Roberts Cellars Company. We carefully studied the
case of the situation at Roberts Cellars Company during our meeting. We as one group figured out
that the problem at Roberts Cellars Company is the TCA a chemical that can cause musty odors and
flavors in wine. TCA infects the cork, then is transferred to the wine when it comes into contact with
the cork.
As a team, we believe that TCA should be removed from the situation completely by no longer
using Portugal as a source for cork but instead changing the coverings to screw top conclusions
instead. In addition, the TCA issues need to be addressed, and we suggest Robert Cellars selecting a
different cork supplier with a better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have been able to collect some insurance money but the insurance refund was lacking to cover
the total customer refund. Cash reserves have been tapped to cover the remaining refunds. However,
as a team we trust that what Lara said about claiming that customer loyalty has been established by
building trust is right. So, we think Lara should be in control of the winery business not only because
she is a risk taker who likes to challenge herself to achieve new sales goals for the winery but she
gave out the idea when she said that she believes that Roberts Cellars needs to explain the problems
with the tainted cork publicly and explain how this problem will be avoided in the future:
specifically, though the use of screw top closures. She has improved sales and she could diminish the

Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince
Can five century old ideas still be relevant in modern times? Niccolo Machiavelli, author of The
Prince, wrote a book to give advice to rulers both young and old. He introduced a multitude of bold
ideas that help a prince rise to power and prosper there. Machiavelli s concepts include killing off
competitors, the princeand army becoming one, and using cruelty to the prince s advantage.
Although The Prince was written over five hundred years ago, the beliefs of Machiavelli are still
useful as shown by Germany s dictator on the twentieth century, Adolf Hitler. According to
Machiavelli, the first thing one should do after taking control of a state is destroying the former
ruler s family and other suspectful people. He explains that whoever is in the process of
overtaking a state must make sure that the blood of their rulers be extinct (Machiavelli 10). Hitler
accomplishes this when attempting to rule Germany by killing a number of Hitler s political
enemies (Bio 1). By doing so, he eliminates all chances of being overthrown and increases his
chances of success as a leader. This concept has always been relevant and always will be. After the

Moving to his new territory puts him closer to unforeseen problems and allows quick changes to
be made. While attempting to take over Russia, Adolf Hitler stayed in his neighboring country of
Austria in order to be closer to his commanders of the Nazi military. His involvement in the Nazi
military also goes along with one of Machiavelli s ideas that The prince must go in person to take
the position of captain (Machiavelli 51). Hitler was quick to take care of this: As head of the state,
Hitler became supreme commander of the armed forces (Bio 1). Even though Machiavelli did not
intend any evil out of his ideas, Hitler used them to take millions of innocent
Computer Science Reflection
My undergraduate major is measurement, and I have spent the last three years learning about
optics, mechanics, electric circuits, and coding. Among those courses, and following three years
of training including pieces of research and coursework, I have realized that I am enamored with
coding the most. First of all, I enjoy the process of coding and verifying and adjusting the
program. Taking my digital signal processor coursework as an example, after I finished writing the
code, it appeared that the code might not have been correct because I could not receive the right
temperature. So I set the program to a debug mode and run every single step of my code and
observed the feedback value. This was a very diversion for me. With the criticism comes about
because of single step investigating, I made a couple of theories about the issue, for example, the
time postponed is not sufficiently exact, or I might be coding about the wrong sticks. So I checked
these hypotheses one by one, and for reasons unknown, the issue is the piece of my program
concerning time deferring because the segment I used to quantify temperature which is DS18B20 is
extremely strict on timing arrangement. Getting the right outcome is exceptionally fulfilling, so is
the procedure because through speculation autonomously I procure much involvement and
capability. Another thing that intrigues me regarding computer science comes from what I have
learned through our research requirement in theory and technology
Essay on Madagascar s History
Freedom isn t free (various artists sing song) is the one quote that describes the hardship and
difficulties that Madagascar has experienced, since the 7th Century all the way until their
independence in June of 1960 Madagascar and its people have been in constant turmoil. Through its
eventful past it is easy to see how Madagascargained its history, culture, and religion, this is the
identity that the country has shifted to over this vast amount of time. Archeologists such as Jarred
Diamond, the author of Guns, Germs, and Steel , place the first humans in Madagascar as the
Austronesian people from Indonesia around 500BC. It is believed that the Malagasy people came
directly from Indonesia to Madagascar; this is evident through the... Show more content on

It seems several of the world s greatest discoveries are on accident. Over the next several years the
French and the English attempted settlements and control on Madagascar but failed miserably,
one memorable Christmas day 1672 local tribe members attacked Fort Dauphine (the current
French colony) brutally and purposefully killing fourteen men and thirteen women. This
massacre is rumored to have been because these fourteen men deserted and divorced native
Malagasy women in order to marry younger and purer French women. This battle lasted a long
eighteen months as the French remained barricaded in their fort while the angry tribal members
raged battle. In 1674 thirty remaining men and the one widow were saved by the arrival of the
French East India Company. The next several years between 1680 and 1725 Madagascar was a
famed and feared pirate cove, which during these years hundreds of European vessels were
ransacked of all their valuables and scrapped to the island, as a result Madagascar became on of
Europe s most feared shipping routes. The Merina monarchy began about 1795 with king
Andrianampoinimerina, who by marrying various princesses of different Merina clans united the
Merina kingdom and began his conquest over Madagascar. King Andrianampoinimerina was a
military genius and excellent strategist, thought to be equally respected and feared as other great
military leaders such as Alexander the Great and
