Can Video Games Be Considered Art
Can Video Games Be Considered Art
Although video games are often associated with being there just for fun and not real quality
entertainment, some people consider video games to be an art. Video games offer many different
combinations of arts. They also involve using as much creative work as other forms of art. Video
games can be inspiring, teach valuable lessons, and bring out strong emotions. There is no question
that video games are art.
Video games have a lot of different forms of art in them. They feature music, visuals, and scripting
in them. After all, when we first learn about and experiment with art we do not strive to achieve
certain thematic effects. A child s first forays into illustration or painting are only explorations of
aesthetics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People who say that obviously haven t looked that deeply into different types of video games.
Video games can bring out powerful emotions and inspire people. Why are they not? Video
games, much like any other kind of art can evoke feelings and emotions in the player much like
traditional art. Video games are also a blend of many kinds of art forms such as music and story.
Video games also take the time and dedication of something like painting, I believe that any work at
all that evokes a feeling or an emotion in the person viewing/experiencing it should be considered art
(Should...).Although not every single video game out there is incredibly visually or story wise, there
is a large amount of video games that are. The game Undertale created by the indie developer
Tobyfox is an role playing game that has came out this year. Although all the graphics are pixelated
the story is incredibly moving and touching. When you finish the game it gives an amazing story of
either mercy or despair depending on how you play the game. Some may blow off this game as just
another piece of entertainment, but when you consider the quality of the story compared to works of
literature it is just as beautiful and touching.
Video games are indeed art. They combine multiple art factors. It takes quite a bit of hard work and
creativity just
Renaissance Humanism
The Renaissance was remarkable because of the ideas of humanism that proliferated during that
time period. From the humanism movement, many more concepts developed from it, primarily
education and how significant it was. Originally, Renaissance education was fixated on Classical
literature, and it was widely celebrated (Doc 1, Doc 2, Doc 3). Centuries later, it was ridiculed
because it provided no teachings of essential subjects (Doc 5, Doc 6). Renaissanceeducation was
initially deemed important for religious, social, and glorification reasons, but as time advanced, it
was constantly challenged because it was useless to society, taught unnecessary subjects, and only
affected a small fraction of people; as a result, it ultimately failed to survive. At the beginning of the
extensive time period, Renaissance education was regarded as a crucial part of society, but Italian
scholars greatly exaggerated it. Piccolomini, an Italian humanist, wrote of humanism because it was
when the Renaissance was just being introduced and when the movement was at its peak. According
to him, gaining knowledge of the Classical culture is vital because it displays the greatness of man.
The enlightenment of the mind was dependent on the study of philosophy and letters (Doc 1). But if
the greatness of man was only limited to studying literature, then the standards of man s greatness
must be absurdly low. Being given an education that provided a wider range of useful subjects
would be a more
Pax Roman A Time Of Peace And Learning
Research paper: Pax Romana Rome s Golden Age, often called the Pax Romana , was a time of
peace and learning after the ongoing wars with neighboring barbarians, and civil wars. During this
time of peace, the Romans greatly expanded their commerce and also refine their art. With peace, the
romans spent less time focusing on war and more time focusing on the arts. History remembers the
legendary Roman legions as the one of the most deadly and successful fighting forces in the ancient
world. Even today, stories of their great success and invincibility in the face of their enemies are still
known. At the height of their empire, the Romans were able to conquer a vast empire that stretched
over three continents and maintain t power for centuries over the Mediterranean Sea. The key to
Rome s military success during the Pax Romana was the advanced military innovations that the
Romans incorporated into its great army that included military bureaucracy, advanced battle tactics
and military technology.
The Pax Romana was a time of relative peace during the Roman Empire. Although there were small
conflicts during The Pax Romana it was generally known as a time of prosperity and expansion for
Rome, mainly under the leadership of Emperor Augustus and Tiberius who successfully expanded
borders and made peace with neighboring barbarians. Pax Romana is Latin for peaceful Rome. It
lasted from 27 BC to 180 AD, from the end of the Republican Civil wars to the death of Marcus
Aurelious.
Disabled Care in Brunei
Disabled care is categorised as people who are lack of abilities to function properly in their daily
life for example physical disability, sensory disability, vision impairment or mental health problems.
According to the United Nation, in 2012 there were 4,148 people or 1.06% of the total population
consists of people with disabilityin Brunei(Mahmud, 2013). There are several non profit
organisations established in Brunei with the purpose of providing specialised care for the
disabled such as SMARTER, The Centre for children with special Needs (KACA) and Pusat
Ihsan Al Ameerah Al Hajjah Maryam. ( I m Possible, n.d.). However several problems arose in
public awareness and financial terms. Disable community faced a challenge of accessibility in
Brunei. Therefore, certain care is needed to in order yo offer special education for the disabled,
providing financial supports and advanced facilities for the disabled.
One of the main steps can be taken to improve disable care in Brunei is by providing special
education. Limited ability to function does not restrict people with disability to live life normally.
Special education for has been increasing towards government bodies to provide ample supply of
facilities for the disable. Schools and higher institutions have provided special learning centres cater
to disable needs. University of Brunei Darussalam have introduced CDLearN (Diverse Learning
Needs) for their disable students aims to provide students with adequate resource
4. Against The Existence Of God. Ludwig Feuerbach Is A
4. Against the existence of God Ludwig Feuerbach is a philosopher that believed that God did not
actually exist. Instead he was created by the human population to create a somewhat perfect
individual that they could strive to be. The textbook The Philosopher s Way states We are divided
into two selves: our actual selves the way we are and our idealized selves the way would like to
be (Chaffee 344). Therefore, Feuerbach believes that the ideal self is a reflection of all the
characteristics the human population gave to God. Since God is perfect it takes a lot of
persistence and determination for an individual to be a fraction of what He is, and it is impossible
to be like God. This idea that the human population could never be God... Show more content on

The textbook The Philosopher s Way states that the challenge for each of us is to knowingly
embrace this religious quest, seeking to disclose the meaning of our lives by halting to onward
unreflective rush of life and instead stepping back to come to the self (Chaffee 349). Therefore,
religion become imperative because it provided individuals to gain some reason for their existence,
but it also allows them to reflect on their lives and who they have become. Since Bibles and God
could provide the answers to various question most individuals will take part in a religious quest.
This concept is the beliefs of the philosopher Keiji Nishitani. There is a problem of evil because
many believe that if God did exist there would not be evil present in the world because of his
power and strength. The textbook presented two specific types of evil which include natural evil
and moral evil. Natural evil is associated with natural disasters while moral disasters are associated
with adversity cause by another individual purposely. These two types of evil negatively impact a
number of people everyday, and it causes some of God s supporters to question why God would
allow it to happen. John Chaffee states that this causes individuals to believe that God does not
exist, at least as a personal Creator involved in human affairs. God is not all powerful and so is
unable to
The Effects Of Nitrogen On The Dairy Industry
Nitrogen is one of the main biogeochemical elements, around which a cycle supports life on Earth.
Nitrogen can be found in many forms, one of which is nitrite, a toxic chemical that can produce
severe abnormalities in animals (Binta and Mushi, 2012). Nitrite is formed from nitrate by micro
organisms and bacteria present in soil, water, saliva, and the large intestine of most animals. These
micro organisms are present in high amounts in ruminants such as cows, which poses serious
implications on the dairy industry as nitrite poisoning, if nitratelevels are not closely monitored, can
lead to the death of large numbers of livestock as well as birth defects in calves. In ruminants, nitrate
is reduced to nitrite, and the rumen microbes utilize this nitrite by converting it into ammoniaas a
nitrogenous source important in DNA production and synthesis of amino acids (Robson, 2007).
Though, when levels of nitrogenrise in excess, nitrite accumulates in rumen, and is then rapidly
absorbed into the bloodstream, then reacting with the ferrous form of haemoglobin to form met
haemoglobin (met Hb) (Sidhu et al., 2011). This is a serious issue as met Hb is a poor transporter
of oxygen and the animal suffers from oxygen deficiency. Nitrite poisoning has become more
common over the past century as application of nitrogen fertilizer to farmland improves both
quality and yield of milk produced by cattle (Sidhu et al., 2011). Nitrogen increases the levels of
crude protein in forage, which
August Wilson s Fences
August Wilson s Fences Building Fences
The first time I read August Wilson s Fences for english class, I was angry. I was angry at Troy
Maxson, angry at him for having an affair, angry at him for denying his son, Cory, the opportunity
for a football scholarship.I kept waiting for Troy to redeem himself in the end of the play, to change
his mind about Cory, or to make up with Ruth somehow. I wanted to know why, and I didn t, couldn
t understand. I had no intention of writing my research paper on this play, but as the semester
continued, and I immersed myself in more literature, Fences was always in the back of my mind,
and, more specifically, the character of Troy Maxson. What was Wilson trying to say with this piece?
The more that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of writing that I found Troy despicable and without honor or dignity, I found myself
listing several reasons why he was, in fact, heroic. I looked at why Troy Maxson did the things he
did, instead of just looking at the things. I realized how difficult it was for a black man to make it
in a white mans world during the fifties, when color alone influenced every aspect of life.
Fences can be viewed as a family play, it can also be viewed as a work specifically of the black man
s place, or plight, in a predominantly white world. Either way, it has a very valuable message. It
is a true art to be able to touch on so many aspects of life in a work, aspects that may be viewed
differently by different people.. Wilson s work, and the character of Troy Maxson, makes me
question many things, among them myself, as well as his intended message. This is why I am so
in awe of Fences, and of Wilson s talent. This is why I am writing my paper on Fences.
I didn t know anything about August Wilson before I began my research. I was very surprised to
learn about his separatist views, because his play seemed so universal to me. I was also very
surprised to learn that he had left school two years early because of a racial comment from a
teacher, and that he had acquired the remainder of his education from hours spent at the library.
What I had not known was that many aspects of Fences can be seen as
