The Tenets Of Conservatism And Liberalism
President Barack Obama introduced his America s College Promise proposal to make community
college tuition free for students in January, but Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC)
President Barbara Risser did not bring it up with the collegewide governance body until October.
She did not endorse it; she only asked the approximately 20 members to think about what it would
mean for the school. No one responded. Mr. Obama says his proposal would expand the reach of
higher education, a goal that fits with liberal ideology. Given that academics tend to lean left
(Jaschik, 2012), the lack of enthusiasm for a seemingly liberal proposal on a college campus might
seem unusual. This essay will review the tenets of conservatismand liberalismand explore their
usefulness in predicting the impact of American s College Promise and who might take sides for or
against it. It will show the president s proposal cannot be categorized neatly into one of the two
dominant ideological camps. Wilson s cost benefit typology proves a more meaningful way to
consider the potential ramifications of the policy and how that information could be used to refine it.
Liberal and conservative are common short hand ways to describe politicians and policies. Rational
choice theory, which assumes people act out of self interest as voters just as they do as consumers
(Cochran Malone, 2010, p. 62), suggests voters want such short hand descriptions to help them make
decisions. A key aspect of this
Alcoholic Family Research Paper
While the alcoholic must detox and work through their problems, family counseling is a necessity
during treatment. Over time, alcoholism has a strong impact on the family and friends of the
alcoholics. From the genetic component of addiction to relationship quality, family members are
intensely involved in the addiction. Alcoholism Is Often a Family Problem While scientists are not
sure which genes are responsible for addiction, research shows that there is a strong genetic
component. Someone with an alcoholic parent is far more likely to become an alcoholic than the
average person. This does not mean that the addiction is inevitable, but it does mean that individuals
should be careful about substance abuse issues if a family member is... Show more content on

At this point, friends and relatives are completely exhausted. They may become depressed as they
lose sight of their own self worth. In addition, family members may continue to enable addictive
behaviors. When the addict is ready to treat their alcoholism, family therapy and counseling is an
important component of treatment. The whole family must learn how to break the cycle of denial,

October 22, 2014

Abstract Nurse Louise Lynam, a nurse practitioner, published a scientific journal article that
informed readers on the importance of foot and ankle sprains. She gave specific scenarios and
explained the overall structure of the foot and ankle along with the ways to distinguish if there is an
injury to that area.

Assessment of Acute Foot and Ankle Sprains

Introduction
Acute foot and ankle sprains are common injuries that are frequently seen in the medical field that
have to be treated for. This can happen to people at any age, male or female, young or old. People

Grade I involves stretching a ligament, Grade II involves stretch or slight tear to a ligament, and
Grade III involves the ligaments to be ruptured. Such results of Grade III can cause an individual
to not be able to walk. With that being said, prevention is an important factor especially if an
individual has already had an injury to the foot or ankle because it is more likely to happen again.
As stated in the beginning, once an individual has had a foot or an ankle injury it is 73.5 percent
chance that it can reoccur (Lynam, L.). A big help to prevent such injury is as simple as warming up
and stretching your ankle and foot before heavy activities. This will help stretch the muscles and the
tendons in the ankle. Other simple prevention mechanism includes wearing the right shoes when out
doing physical activities, wearing an ankle brace if the ankle or foot has been injured already in the
past, paying close attention to your surroundings, and to pay attention to warning signs if the
individual is getting tired. It is important to teach the patient that once the area is injured they need
to rest, ice and elevate their foot for correct care. Once again, teach them how to prevent it

Goldman Sachs in Libya With a founding history of 145 years, Goldman Sachs, the investment
banking, securities and investment management firm can lay claim to being one of the most
profitable among the Wall Street firms better than its competitors while managing to retain its
reputation all along as one with impeccable credentials. As stated on their company website,
Goldman Sachs prides itself on having pioneered many of the practises and techniques that have
become the norm in the investment banking circles. The firm also incorporates a business model
which consists of hiring the best talent and inculcating in them a corporate culture where partnership
culture is valued above all else, and honouring its founding principles, the first of which, quoting

After the financial crisis of 2008, however, there is another way of viewing Goldman Sachs: a firm
that prided its dedication to its clients as the apogee of its structure, to one that has evolved into
something more blatantly self serving. According to author William Cohen, in his book Money and
Power, he has stated that Its primary source of profit has shifted from banking to trading, and the
firm is intentionally quite vague about how, and precisely where, those trades are made or, equally
relevant, from whom the profits are coming. It is a Wall Street titan whose clever bet against the

The Black Man Monologue
Following him into the room were two men, one dark skinned and one light. The black man was
named Leroy, the white man was named Harold. Leroy had a dark blue trench coat which often
times allowed him to carry a full length shotgun underneath without anyone giving a second
glance. He had a grey suit and grey striped tie to match. Leroy was bald, his face significantly
scarred. He menacingly scanned the room, moving about to inspect every corner. Harold on the
other hand couldn t be bothered to turn his head. He stood directly behind his boss and never
seemed to move much at all. Harold was easily the tallest manin the room, including the men who
were to arrive shortly. He wore a brown leather jacket with a soft wool lining. The jacket matched
his hair and sideburns, which were curly and short. Being about a man in his mid 40 s, he didn t
carry a phone, only a revolver. In his left hand, was a dark black briefcase, the same color as his
gloves. His right hand frequently checked his watch. The three might have been early, but the others

Besides in my opinon, being the greatest cartoon character ever, Donald is the one in the little blue

meaning to the phrase: Actions speak louder than words. His lines are few and almost
indecipherable, forcing his actions to speak the volumeof his parts. His personality makes his

My Cultural Background And Identity
Please tell us more about your cultural background and identity (100 word limit).
I grew up with a very diverse cultural background. My father is an immigrant from India and my
mother s parents are both immigrants from Italy. This mix of societies has taught me to be open to
different customs from around the world. Since then, I have always been fascinated with other
cultures and how they are all connected while still maintaining fundamental differences. Because of
this, I would love to have the opportunity to immerse myself in a foreign culture by studying abroad

In my house, we have always had a piano, but none of my family members knew how to play it. My
mom taught me a very basic understanding including how to read the notes on the staff and how
the notes correspond to each key on the piano, but that was all that she knew. In time, I grew to
love the feeling of playing music from the heart. In continuing to play, I taught myself to play
complex pieces because it made me feel satisfied and content. Now, I am able to play a vast variety
of songs including jolly Christmas music, playful video game soundtracks, and beautiful melodies
by Yiruma and Chopin. Throughout the years, music has evolved into an incredible stress reliever
and source of enjoyment in my daily life.

Dupal Brute Force Attack
Drupal is a proven content management system (CMS) used by over a million websites
including governments and well known brands. One reason for this trust in Drupal is its robust
security. Drupal also does its best to protect against the greatest security weakness of every CMS:
weak user passwords. Hackers all over the world take advantage of weak passwords by using a
method called brute force attack (BFA). BFA attempts to log into the administrator dashboard login
page by guessing usernames and passwords. If people used long and complicated passwords, BFA
wouldn t be the threat that it is today.

Drupal makes brute force attack more difficult because it limits the number of login attempts from a

While hackers might employ automated means to find websites with common Drupal foot prints, a
simpler way is to download a list of websites using Drupal which can be found on BuiltWith. If
your website has been online for any length of time, there s a good chance that it s under brute force

Gospel Music Influence
Influence of Gospel Music on its listeners

This entrance caused the audience to jump and shout amidst clapping of hands. They joined into
the performance with choruses of Amen! and Yes, Lord! as the band continued with their song.
After a few moments as the artist came to the front of the stage, some people rose to their feet and
began raising their hands high into the air. People seemed overcome with emotion. There were
several songs sung during the concert and each song had the audience just as vocal and physical as
the one before it. People would shout and raise their hands in the air, shaking them or waving them
around. In a way, it reminded me of the Tarab music of the Middle East that seem to feel its audience
with ecstasy and enchant them. The gospel music evoked strong emotions in the audience and people
sang along with the artist as they clapped their hands in time with each other. Not only was the
background vocals and the musicians in tune with one another. Everyone singing and clapping in the
audience was in tune as well. I found myself clapping my hands along with them and trying to

President Nicolas Sarkozy s Union for a Popular Movement is the current heir of Gaullism.

The Implementation Of The Project Resource Plan
As you can see from the critical path shown above, the most crucial parts of the project, are at the
same time the most independent one in this type of situation. And, although they needed follow the
regular flow that is because the development of the product, meaning the implementation of the rules
needed to pull the data from the database, can be simply verbally communicated between the
Business Analyst, product owner, and the developers. While the development is under way, the rest
of the team can concentrate on document preparation. This often leads to the fact that the
developers are left with more time to focus on the programming part and develop a more suitable
and reliable code. This is in many ways a good thing, as the requirements may change mid way, and
they are left with more time to accommodate their work to the agile environment. 19
