What Was The Us Entry Into World War 1
In 1914, World War 1 erupted in Europe. During the the first first two years of the war President
Wilson decided that America would stay neutral. America did not want to get involved in a war that
was not their battle to win. This benefited America because both sides of the war would buy supplies
from America. Things were going smooth for America until Germany decided to attack American
ships which killed many Americans. As tension grew between Germany and the United States,
President Wilson still would not enter the war. However, that is until the Zimmermann note
happened in which Germany proposed an alliance with Mexico via telegram if America would ever
enter the war. That event was the last straw because in April 6, 1917 the United... Show more content

The poster convinced Americans to help support and prepare not only the America for the war but
also provided materials to the Allies. Together as a whole nation America united to help the Allies be
more prepared than Germany while at war.
American entry into World War 1 tipped the balance in favor of the allies because they provided
military soldiers. The United States sent over millions of troops to fight along the Allies.
According, to a message from General Foch stated by the Prime minister of Great Britain, France,
And Italy they stated, The United States will do everything that can be done ... to proceed with
the continuous rising of fresh levies, calculated to provide, as soon as possible, the numerical
superiority which the Commander in Chief of the Allied Armies regards as essential to ultimate
victory (Doc. D Message Prepared by the Prime minister of Great Britain, France, and Italy,
Versailles, June 2, 1918). This indicated that America knew that the only way the Allies would
defeat Germany if they had more soldiers than Germany. As soldiers on the both sides of the war
were dying the Allies were one step ahead of the game by gaining support from America. The U.S
provided the Allies with fresh batches of soldiers rolling into the war. America was able to quickly
send troops by created the Selective Service Act. The Act obligated all
The Holocaust Of The Auschwitz Camp
In 1944, medical doctor Miklos Nyiszli, a Hungarian Jew and family man, arrived at the
Auschwitz camp in Poland. In an effort to stay alive after being separated from his daughter and
wife though he feared his days would soon be counted he volunteered to work as a pathologist
under Nazi Dr. Josef Mengele. Working under the supervision of a Nazi superior meant one
became Sonderkommando. As a Sonderkommando, one had the privilege to wear civilian clothes
and receive better meals. Hence, working for Dr. Mengele, Dr. Nyiszli had certain privileges
other Jewish prisoners did not obtain. The Nazi government to provide a way to enhance the
Aryan species sponsored Dr. Mengele in his horrific human experiments; Twins were especially
of interest as Dr. Mengele was trying to find a way to get Aryan women give birth to blond and
blue eyed twins. Being a Sonderkommando, Dr. Nyiszli assisted Dr. Mengele with various cruel
experiments such as injecting chemicals in twins eyeballs in an attempt to change their eye
color to blue and felt his fate was pre determined due to his knowledge of the experiments. Every
four months the Sonderkommandos were killed. He writes, I had the feeling I was already one of
the living dead. I was certain I would never get out alive. Was it conceivable that Dr. Mengele would
ever allow me to leave this place alive (Nyiszli, 65). Slowly, Dr. Nyiszli earned the respect of Dr.
Mengele and other SS officers, and was given more responsibility. He now dissected
Descriptive Vacation In The Rainforest
It s summer vacation and I m riding the gondola with my family up to the top of a rainforest in
Costa Rica. My brother and I are preparing ourselves mentally, to zip line across the monstrous
tree tops of the rainforest. I was feeling more and more frightened every time someone in gondola
mentioned how high we were. Going up to the top, I felt the atmosphere change and suddenly the
air was really moist, and I was almost immediately covered in sweat. We were at the top of the
rainforest, overlooking all the brightly colored trees, Lake Arenal(the biggest lake in Costa Rica) at
the bottom, and the clear bright blue sky. As we walked out the door to get off the gondola, you
could instantly hear the frightened screams of the people who just got launched down the zip
line. Even though my mom was not zip lining, she was the most uncomfortable and nervous out
of us all, because she was scared to watch my brother and I zip line. As we were putting our
helmets and harnesses on, you could smell the sweat of the previous owner of the used gear. The
harness was extremely heavy almost to the point where you could barely walk. The gloves were
very rough and smelled absolutely terrible. The helmet was very large and almost too tight for
my head. Waiting in line, two kids behind me thought it was funny to bump helmets constantly,
and the noise bothered my brother a lot, but not me, because all I could think about was how I
was going to survive this. Waiting for my turn to jump, only made me more nervous. I was
shaking heavily, gripping the railing really tight, and swatting away all the enormous and exotic
bugs that I had never seen before. Suddenly it was my turn to get strapped in. I could feel every inch
of my body shaking, and I could even sense the fear coming from my mom, who was watching from
the ledge above. I could tell my dad and my other siblings weren t scared for my brother and I,
because all they were doing was taking pictures of us and admiring the view. The employee who was
strapping me in was giving me tips like, keep you legs up , and brake as you come into the landing
port , but I couldn t hear a thing he was saying because I was so nervous and focused on getting it
over with. As I was
On The Virgins, By Robert Herrick And Edna St. Vincent Millay
Carpe diem, should this idea be the sole focus of individuals in their even if it means that it will
have negative impacts on their future? Poets Robert Herrick and Edna St. Vincent Millay answer
this question through their own contrasting. In Herrick s To the Virgins, To Make Much of Time
the speaker argues that after an individual has past their youthful stage, their state of mind will
grow old and decrepit. As such should focus on seizing the day as much as possible. To emphasize
his viewpoint Herrick primarily uses nature as a symbol for life and the passage of time while using
simplistic and harmonious rhyming to frame his argument as basic human desire. On the other hand,
in Millay s What Lips my Lips have Kissed, and Where, and... Show more content on

Herrick states that the pursuit of enjoyable experiences should be the primary concern of those
with youth as this is the only time in their lives that they will be able to attain such a high degree
of joy. The author depicts the speaker as an older person who is trying to convince individuals
with youth to forgo any risk and not worry about the future. To this effect the speaker uses nature
and its seasons to convince the reader that youth should be used to acquire as many joyful
experiences as possible. To do this, the speaker implores to the youths that Old time is still a flying
(Herrick 2) and that Tomorrow will be dying (Herrick 4). Herrick also uses his rhyme scheme to
emphasize the natural and simplicity of his argument. The author instills a sense of interconnectivity
between the genders by using both Masculine and Feminine rhymes sequentially and thus Herrick
moves in directions that challenge accepted gender configurations. (Landrum 205). The simplicity of
the rhyme scheme, ABAB, instills the reader with a sense of easiness and flow to the author s
argument further emphasizing that carpe diem should be the utmost importance. Furthermore, by
internally rhyming That age is the best which is the first (Herrick 9) the consonance draws the
reader to the line and emphasizes the message that being the first to seize the day is the best. All in
all, Herrick used both nature symbolism and simplistic rhyme scheme
Technology As A Tool For Teaching Students
As times change, so does usage of technology. More and more schools across the world are using
technology as a tool in teaching their students. While there are several districts that teach in the
traditional sense, there has been a steady incline as to the amount of school districts across the
world that are switching to iPads and other electronic devices to aide in the pupil s education.
Depending on the administrators, students are allowed to bring their devices to the classroom
(BYOD, Bring Your Own Device), while other districts receive grants and other types of funding to
purchase a technology device for each student.
The primary concern to many districts is the cost factor. First and foremost, the school district has to

The main question posed with these technological advances in education is, is it really benefiting
the children enough to budget that much money to purchase all of these electronic devices?
According to a study done in Scotland, by using the traditional holistic way of teaching, there is a
gap in gender according to Department for Education and Skills, there has been a steady 10%
difference in male and females. Instead of both sexes being equal, males have had the shorter end of
the stick. (Department for Education and Skills, 2003)
When the schools were able to integrate the Apple iPads, researchers and observers noticed that the
male s scores were able to increase to the average girl s score. A huge concern was the fact that male
s were slowly but surely falling behind in their academics. Although this does not prove that the
money spent on this expedition has been worth their while, it does improve many student s
participation and interest in the academic department. (McPhee Marks, 2013)
One crucial and possible setback, if not closely monitored and taken into consideration is the fact
that some teachers do not want the Apple iPads integrated into their teaching techniques. A good
portion of teachers are from the traditional type of teaching and ready to retire after so many years
of using the same routine. They might ask, I m about to leave so why should I even bother learning
something this new and
William Shakespeare s Macbeth And Wuthering Heights

Destructive Love In Macbeth and Wuthering Heights The theme of destructive love within
relationships in Shakespeare s Macbeth and Bronte s Wuthering Heights are presented through
sexism, jealousy, and betrayal. How do women gain control in a relationship? Can men regain
control in a relationship? What makes a good relationship? What makes a bad relationship? Can
people be over ambitious? These questions are vital to understanding the complex relationships in
these stories. Women gain control in a relationship in several ways. Some relationships don t
struggle for power, and sometimes a participant simply gives the woman power freely. However,
other times, the woman abuses her partner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Macbeth, Macbeth becomes king. When this happens, Lady Macbeth becomes docile, where
before she was fiery, ruthless, and the driving force in the relationship. Macbeth then became
dominant over Lady Macbeth, gaining control in the relationship. Thus, in this example, control was
regained. In Wuthering Heights, Heathcliff eventually came to own Wuthering Heights, and
appropriated Thrushcross Grange. When this happened, he was angry with Catherine, because he did
not know her plan. He isolated her from the rest of the household. He became more powerful. Thus,
he regained control in the relationship.
What makes a good relationship? This question has plagued the romantically inclined for perhaps
all of time. Dr. Sarkis of Psychology Today seems to think that common goals and values are key,
stating Couples with very different interests can have healthy relationships what counts is that they
share common goals and values. (psychologytoday.com.) In this sense, the relationship in Macbeth
is considered a good relationship. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth do, after all, share a common goal:
They both want Macbeth to be king. However, they are not the only ones who share a common goal
or value.
Heathcliff and Catherine s love is an attempt to break the boundaries of self and to fuse with another
to transcend the inherent separateness of the human condition; fusion with another will by uniting
two incomplete individuals
Analysis Of His Last Game
Confronting Death
By biological logic, we human beings will face death sooner or later in our life and death has its
very own ways to approach us a sudden deadly strike, a critical sickness, a tragic accident, a
prolonged endurance of brutal treatment, or just an aging biological end. To deal with the
prospect of death come different passive or active reactions; some may be scared and anxious to
see death, some try to run away from it, and some by their own choice make death come faster. But
Viktor Frankl, through his work Man s Search for Meaning, and Bryan Doyle; in his essay His Last
Game show us choices to confront the death, bring it to our deepest feelings, meaningful satisfaction.
To me, the spirit of the prisoners at deadly concentration camps, Frankl s Logotherapy theory of . . .
striving to find a meaning in one s life is the primary motivational force in man. (99), as well as
the calmness of Doyle s brother on his last ride, like an awaken bell, remind us of how precious life
is, how we should find the significance in every act of living, determine to live a meaningful life at
any circumstances; hence, when death comes, we can accept it without anxiety nor regrets.
Many books were published about Holocaust, but Frankl s work is One of the outstanding
contribution to psychological thought . . . (Carl Rogers. 1959). Frankl, a psychiatrist and
neurologist, spent 3 years in Nazis concentration camps where he underwent horrible suffers and
experienced thin

I did see this one girl, Virginia or as she prefers, Ginny, she bought all the tickets to my show and
tried handing them out on the street, something about a special promotion as she told my flat mate.
I m not entirely sure about why she did it, but she made me the first person to sell out the place, so
I figured I would take a chance, and buy her a drink, which she didn t seem to know much about and
just ordered the first thing she saw, Guinness. Are you going to... Show more content on

That is where we met Miss Mari Adams, a very good painter that lives in a rather spooky castle
filled with non valuable trinkets such as a little wind up Godzilla toy. Think she ll miss it? Ginny
sure did think so, she said I shouldn t have taken it and should probably return it, but I needed a
souvenir from this little trip. Ginny got really upset by my taking it, arguing that it was part of
some art piece and I was ruining it. So I threw it onto the train tracks, and you can imagine her
rage! I ended up leaving her there at the train station and taking a bus back home. She then took
off on another crazy journey from her precious envelopes her aunt left her; I didn t like her aunt
very much. I didn t like that she wasn t around Ginny too much, and now after her passing, she
was sending Ginny on what seems like a wild goose chase. I didn t hear from Ginny for a couple of
weeks until she sent me an email from a small internet café in Paris, said she was staying at some
place called The UFC Hostel in Montparnasse. I was glad to hear from her and regretted very much
making her angry with me before she left, so since I had to go and do a show for a French school,
I decided I would surprise her and wait for her by her hostel. It surprised me when she just walked
by and didn t even notice me. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around Paris and eating
