Corporate Asset Management At Berkshire Hathaway
Legendary investor Warren Buffett has held stock in The Coca Cola Company (KO) for decades.
His position through Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) (BRK.B) amounted to 400 million shares at
last count and made up over 15% of Berkshire s portfolio. Buffett s investment serves other KO
investors well because it adds an element of stability to the stock price, and Buffett has no plans to
sell his shares in KO in the works. Other prominent investors with positions in KO at last measure
included Yacktman Asset Management with 39 million shares and Eagle Capital with 22.3 million
shares. We like Yacktman s and Eagle s positions because like Buffett at Berkshire, these funds are
value driven and not entirely motivated by short term profits, taking a... Show more content on

While organic revenue from company owned operations grew by 4% during 2015 s second
quarter, net revenue declined as a result of the complicated issues that come with Coco Cola s
reliance on independent distributors, wholesalers, retailers and bottling partners. Fairly
decentralized relationships and investments in business partners located across the world have
impacted KO s balance sheet. The fourth quarter of 2014 carried a $32 million loss because
owners of a majority interest in one of the company s bottling partners from Brazil decided to
exercise their option to acquire a 10% interest in the Brazilian entity s outstanding shares. This loss
was exacerbated by the fact that the exercise price was lower than the company s carrying value.
Furthermore, during the first half of 2015, KO recorded a $19 million loss from a failing
investment in a South African bottling partner. Still, these losses were not that material to KO as its
revenue and profits are measured in the billions. Profits hurt by the strong dollar In its 2015 second
quarter, Coca Cola improved overall profitability, but profitability and growth from its non U.S.
operations have been unfavorably impacted by volatile exchange rate fluctuations. Foreign currency
exchange rate fluctuations caused an 11 point headwind in the company s
Applications of Noise and Vibration Studies
Applications of Noise and Vibration Studies in all domains presented above have slight variation
depending on the structural architecture, working environment, economics and adherence to
regulations imposed by various authorities. In the domain of railway, Automobile and Aircraft
industry, both exterior noise (into the environment) and interior noise play an important role and are
strictly regulated by norms imposed by various government authorities. In the railway industry, in
addition environmental noise, big attention is being paid on studies on transmission and effect of
ground vibrations in many countries. Aircraft industry, on the other hand has its focus of study on
airframe noise which is transmitted to the environment surrounding the airports and are under strict
regulation by regulatory bodies in all countries. For ships, interior noise and noise transmitted
underwater has been the topic for research over past 40 decades. A brief review of applications of
noise and vibrations studies is presented in subsequent paragraphs. In the railway industry, the
studies are mainly focussed on the mechanism of generation and transmission and control measures
in respect of rolling noise at the wheel rail contact and the aerodynamic noise. The dominant noise
from mainline railways is usually the rolling noise generated by the wheel and rail which is caused
by vibrations of the wheel and track structures, induced at the wheel rail contact point by vertical
irregularities in the
Prince Suicide
Did prince committed suicide because he had aids? Alijah mason
On April 21, 2016 Prince Rogers Nelson aka music popstar prince was found unconscious in his
million dollar home. When police were called to the scene he was pronounced dead. There are
more who believed he had been diagnosed HIV/AIDS and was tired of hiding for pleasing his fans
and for his life. One theory is Prince committed suicide because he had AIDs. Prince was diagnosed
with full blown aids. ``AIDS weakened prince enough for the flu or the zika virus to kill him, or get
back on drugs knowing he was dying anyways (www.fansideed.com). The rumors is popping up,

``Authorities probably know much more they are willing to discuss public as they seek the

s body had scars on the left side of his hip, and lower right leg. ``Reporters doesn t say, but it s
possible the scars were evidence of past surgeries for joint pain (www.worldnews.com). At least one
friend has said suffered years of hip and knee pain from his athletic stage of performance. Fit

Internal And External And Internal Stakeholders
Stakeholders are defined as those who have the power to influence the outcome of the problem at
hand and have a demonstrated investment in doing so (Collaborative Justice, n.d). Some of the
external and internal Stakeholders in our corrections are:
Police Agencies: If the local police decide to conduct a large sweep of offenders who have
warrants or make mass arrests of people involved in the drug trade, their pre trial facilities can
expect a large night of intakes, many of whom may be under the influence or detoxing (Horgan ,
2012). Our counts are reliant on the number of arrests that the police make and our medical staffs
often are required to deal with a sick population (Horgan , 2012).
Prosecutors: When the local District Attorney or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The US Supreme Court recently ruled that strip searches may be allowed even without probable
cause which could make the correction officers jobs safer (Horgan , 2012). In severe cases of
overcrowding, courts may require that offenders be released to ensure that the living conditions pass
constitutional muster (Horgan , 2012). In these cases (most recently seen on a large scale in
California), decisions must be made about which inmates are released (Horgan , 2012).
Inmate Advocacy Groups: There are numerous organizations that work to ensure that those who are
incarcerated are treated humanely. They will frequently make inquiries of medical care,
overcrowding, and safety issues (Horgan , 2012). They react to offender complaints which may or
may not have merit. This causes the local Sheriff s or Department of Corrections to respond to these
complaints (Horgan , 2012).
Correctional stuff: correctional stuff plays a major role in what goes in and out of the facilities.
Correctional security officers for example are supposed to be monitor every single thing that enters
the premises to avoid drugs getting to inmates. Correctional officers are also to be ethically
concerned with how they relate to inmates, it s unhealthy for an officer to supply inmates with illegal
The Old NBA Basketball
NBA basketball is has gotten more and more strict since the game itself started. Nowadays if you go
up for a layup and get pushed a little, you either fall or flop and it s called a foul. If you argue with a
player or a ref you get a technical foul called on you. The refs break up all the fights now, if you start
getting in each others face the fight will get broken up and you will get punished. Back in 70 s,
80 s, 90 s, and early 2000 s players could settle their beef with each other on the court. Some players
who played physical in the old NBA days are Dennis Rodman, Kobe Bryant, and Charles Oakley.
In the late 80 s and early 90 s the Lakers, Pistons, Celtics, and the Jazz, were the top tier teams. The
Detroit Pistons also known as the Bad
Compare And Contrast Dr. Heidegger s Experiment And The...
Leila Zaki Ms. Flynn American Lit Pd. 3 November 22, 2014 The Unperfected In todays society
people are constantly being judged on how they act and how they look, there seems to be this
thirst for perfection that can never be quenched. Nathaniel Hawthorne, a historic american writer,
uses two stories; The Birth Mark and Dr. Heidegger s Experiment to reveal how far people are
willing to go to in order to fix their imperfections. Hawthorn shows how minor flaws like a
birthmark and old age can destroy ones self preservation. Insignificant imperfections amongst the
characters cause them to resort to unnatural measures in hopes of fixing their flaws, but inevitably
this action leads to their downfall. In The Birth Mark Alymers desire for a... Show more content on

Heidegger s Experiment, Widow Wycherley, an old women who is nostalgic for her days of
youth, drinks the mysterious position hoping it will to regain the one thing she loves the most
about herself, her beauty, consequently it only restores her past vanity. Widow had grown up
with men crawling at her feet she was beautiful, but as time passed she lost her beauty and people
would scorn her for what she had done in her youthful days. She was a great beauty in her day;
but, for a long while past, she had lived in deep seclusion, on account of certain scandalous stories
which had prejudiced the gentry of the town against her (Hawthorne 478). People excused her
actions because she was pretty, but as soon as she lost her beauty she lost her excuse and people
began to ridicule her for what she had done. Widow began to live a life hidden from the rest of
the world, she felt unwanted and undesirable she had lost all self respect. At this point Widow
would do anything if it meant bring he beauty back so she drinks the water from the fountain of
youth, and instantaneously begins to feel young again, but not only young, she also began to feel
wanted and desirable and most of all she was able to gain her self respect back something that she
believed she d never get back. As for the Widow Wycherley, she stood before the mirror courtesying
and simpering to her own image, and greeting it as the friend whom she loved better than all the
world beside (Hawthorne 482). But the problem
Trench Life During World War One
The life of a soldier in the trenches during World War I was unimaginable to the people back home
in Canada. Soldiers carried out their duty to their country in the most horrifying conditions. The
trenches were rivers of mud and blood, food rations were very basic and designed only to keep the
soldiers alive, hygiene was non existent, and militarydirection was poor as these men fought for their
country. Constant shelling and gas attacks made many soldiers feel that death was imminent and a
great deal of men suffered from mental breakdowns due to the war.
During World War I soldiers spent most of their time involved in trench warfare. A typical day in the
trenches began at night when the sentry was relieved and replaced. This individual ... Show more

Sometimes the soldiers traveled from one place to another by train. Box cars, that had never been
cleaned and had little protection from the elements, transported the soldiers for up to twelve hours. It
was a very uncomfortable journey and the soldiers ended up stiff and wet.
Nights in the trenches were spent repairing damaged trenches with barbed wire, filling sandbags,
and digging new trenches, instead of sleeping. Soldiers were also sent out into No Man s Land ,
crawling about on their hand and knees, to find out information about the enemies military plans. It
was too cold for the soldiers to sleep with no blankets and they could not even try to keep warm by
exercising. Exercising would have the soldiers moving around too much, making them targets for the
enemy. When the men did try to sleep they often froze.
Even though the soldiers were supposed to only spend four days at a time in the trenches it often
ended up being longer. In fierce battles the men were sometimes in the trenches for up to twenty
days with practically no food or water, and very little sleep. When the soldiers came out of the
trenches they were enclosed in a practically bullet proof casing of mud . The men then had to
march from the trenches to the billets and were often shot down on their way.
Life in the billets was not really much of a rest. Cleaning muddy clothes for inspection was not easy
and in the evening the soldiers had to carry rations or mail up to the trenches. The men
