Modals for advice
Modal verbs are "helping verbs." They add more information to the main verb.
Use the modal verbs should, would, and could to give advice.
Use I would to give advice and to say something is a good idea. I’d is the short form of I would.
Use I wouldn’t to tell somebody not to do something.
I would take the subway.” (In my opinion, this is a good idea.)
I wouldn’t go on foot.” (In my opinion, this is not a good idea.)

Use should to say something is a good idea. Use shouldn’t to say something is a bad idea.
Use could to say something is possible.
You should study for textual production test tomorrow (It's good idea.)
You shouldn’t try to cheat on your test tomorrow (It’s a bad idea.)
You could score a good grade if you study (It’s possible.)

Modals for advice
You can ask yes/no questions with should, could, and would.
Use Should I…? and Could I…? to ask for advice.
Should I stay or should I go?
Could I use the cell phone in class?
To ask an information question, use a question word (what, where, why, etc.) and
should/could/would.
Should I hang the painting near my bed? / Yes, you should.
